1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions
Keep th is device away from chil dren and unauthorized users.
Indoor use only. Keep this device away from rain, moisture, splashing and dripping
liquids.
Be very careful during the installation: touching live wires can cause life-threatening
electroshocks.
D o not touch the device during operation as the housing heats up.

• Always disconnect mains power when device not in use or when servicing or maintenance activities
are performed. Handle the power cord by the plug only.
• This device falls under p r otecti on class I . It is therefore ess enti al that the devi ce b e earthed. H a ve a
qualified person carry out the electric connection.
• Make sur e that the avai lable vol tage d oes not exceed the vol tag e stated in the specif ications of this
manual.
• Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage. Have an authorised dealer replace it if
necessary.
• Respect a mini mum distance of 1 m between the device’s light output and any illuminated surface.
• Use an appropriate safety cable to fix the device (e.g. VDLSC7N or VDLSC8N).
3. General Guidel ine s
Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not allow operation
by unqualified people. Any damage that may occur will most probably be due to unprofessional use
of the de vice.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden f or safety reasons. Damage caused by user m odifications
to the device i s not covered b y the warranty.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns,
el ectroshocks, lamp explosion, crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the
warranty.
• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and
the dealer wi l l not accept responsibility for any ensui ng def ects or problems.

• A qualified technician should install and service this device.
• Do not switch the d evice on immediately after it has been exposed to changes i n temperatur e.
Protect the device against damage by leaving it switched off until it has reached room temperature.
• This device is desi gned f or professional use on sta ge, in discos, theatres, et c. The dev ice should only
be used indoors with the appropriate current and power supply (see Technical Specifications).
• Lighting effects are not designed for permanent operation: regular operation breaks will prolong their
lives.
• There may be a particular smell when the device is activated for the first time. This is normal and
any smell will gradua lly disappear.
• Do not connect the device to a dimming pack, even if the dimmer channel is used solely for 0% to
100% s wi tch .
• Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.
• Keep th is manua l for fu ture reference.
4. Features

5. Installation
Lamp
• Only fit or replace a lamp when the device is unplugged from the mains.
• Let a lamp cool down before replacing it as the temperature of a lamp can reach 700°C during
operation.
• When handling a halogen lamp, do not touch it with your bare hands. Use a cloth to insert or remove
it.
• Do n ot i nstall l a mps with a higher wattage. T hey ge t hotter th a n this device was design ed for.
• Do not operate the device as long as the lamp is not secu rely f astened or th e cover stil l opened.
• Replace any deformed or damaged lamp with a lamp of the same type (see Technical Specificatio ns).
To repl ace the lamp :
1. Pull the extension spring and open the housing.
2. Remove the old and insert a new one.
3. Fix the socket and close the device.
Mounting guidelines
• Have the device in stalled by a qualified person, respecting EN 60598-2-17 and all other applicable
no rms.
• The construction to which the device is attached should be able to support 10 times the weight of the
device for one hour without deformation .
• The installat ion must always be secu red with a sec ond ary attachm ent e.g. a saf ety cable.
• Never stand directly belo w the device when it is being mounted , remo ved or servi ced .
• Have a qu alified technicia n check the device once a year and once before y ou bring it in to service.
• Install the device in a location with few passers-by that is inaccessible to unauthorised persons.
• Overhead moun ting requires extensi ve exp erience: calculating work lo ad li mits, deter mining the
installa tion material to be used. H ave the materi al and the device itsel f ch ecked regularly. Do not
attempt to install the dev ice yourself if you lack these qualifications as impro per installation may
re sult in in j urie s.
• Make sure there is no flammable material within a 0.5 m radius of the device.
• Connect the device to the mains with the power plug.
• The installation has to be approved by an expert b efore the d evice is taken into service.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
• Disconnect the devi ce f r o m th e mai ns prior to main tenance ac tivities. Let th e d evice cool down.
• All screws shoul d be tightened an d free of corr osion.

• The housing, visible parts, mounting supports and the installation location (e.g. ceiling, suspension,
trussing) should not be deformed, modified or tampered with e.g. do not drill extra holes in mounting
supports, do not change the location of the connections...
• Mechanically moving parts must not show any signs of wear and tear.
• The electric power supply cables must not show any damage. Have a qualified technician maintain
the device.
• Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do n ot use alcohol or sol vents.
• There a r e no user-servi ceable parts apart from the l amp.
• Contact your dealer for spare parts if necessary.

1. Inleiding

Dit symbool op het toestel of de ver p a kki ng geeft a an dat, als het na zijn leven scyclus wordt
weggeworpen , d it toestel schade kan toebreng en aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en eventuele
batterijen) n iet bij het gewone huishoudeli j ke af val; het moet bij een gesp ecialiseerd bedrijf
terechtkomen voor recy clage. U moet dit toestel naar uw verdel er of n aar een lokaal
recycla g epunt b rengen . Respecteer de p laatselijke milieuwetgeving.
Hebt u vragen, contacteer dan de plaatselijke autoriteiten betref fende de
verwijdering.
Dank u voor uw aankoop! Lees deze handleiding grondig voor u het toestel in gebruik neemt. Werd het
toestel beschadig d tijden s h et transport, install eer het dan niet en r aadpleeg u w dealer.
2. Veiligheidsinstructies
Houd dit toestel buiten het b ereik van kinderen en onbevoegden.
Gebrui k het toestel enkel binnenshuis
. Bescherm het toestel tegen regen, vochtigheid
en opspattend e vloei stoffen .
Wees voorzichtig bij de installatie: raak geen kab els aan die onder stroom staan, om
dodelijke elektroshocks te ver mijden.
Raak het toestel niet aan wanneer het in gebruik is: de behuizing wordt warm.
Ki j k niet rechtstr eeks i n de lich tb ron, om het v olgende te vermijden:
• epilepsi eaa nvall en bij gevoel ige personen
• tijde lijke blindheid (flitsblindheid)
• permanente (onherr oepelijke) schad e aa n de ogen.
• Trek de stekker u it het stopcontact voordat u het toestel reinigt of als u het niet gebruikt. Houd de
voedingskabel altijd vast bij de stekker en niet bij d e kab el.
• Dit toestel valt onder beschermin gsklasse I. Het toestel moet du s g eaard zijn . Een g eschoolde
technicus moet de elektrische aansluiting uitvoeren.
• De beschikbare netspanning mag niet hoger zijn dan de spanning in de specificaties achteraan de
handle iding.
• Zorg ervoor da t het stro o msnoer niet gekneld of geplooi d is en bescherm h et tegen bescha d iging.
Laat uw dealer zo nodig een nieuwe kabel plaatsen.
• Zorg voor een minimumafstand van 1 m tussen de lichtuitgang van het toestel en het belichte
oppervlak.
• Maak het toestel vast met een geschikte veiligheidskabel (bijv. V DLSC7N of VDLSC8N).
3. Algemene rich tlijn en
Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze handleiding.
• Leer eerst d e functies van h et toestel kennen voor u het gaa t gebru iken. Ongeschoolde p ersonen
mogen dit toestel ni et gebruiken. Meestal is beschadigin g het gevolg van onprofessi oneel gebruik van
het t oestel.
• Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel. Schade door wijzigingen
di e de gebruiker h eef t aangebr acht aan het toestel valt niet ond er de gara ntie.
• Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaa kt is. Andere toepassingen kunnen leiden tot
kortsluitingen, brandwonden, elektrische schokken, enz. De garantie vervalt automatisch bij
ongeoorloofd gebruik.

• De gar a ntie g el d t niet voor sch ad e door h et negeren van b epaalde richtlijn en in deze handlei ding en
uw deal er zal de verantw oordelijkheid afwi j zen voor defec ten of pr oblemen die hier rech tstr eeks
verband mee houden.
• Laat dit toestel installeren en onderhouden door een geschoolde technicus.
• Het i s b eter om het to estel ni et onmiddellijk in te sch akelen nadat het werd bl ootgesteld aan
temper atuurschommelingen. Om bescha d iging te ver mijden , moet u wach ten tot het toestel
kamertemperatu ur heef t bereikt.
• Dit toestel is ontwo rpen voor professioneel gebruik op podia, in disco 's, enz. Het toestel is uitsluitend
geschikt voor gebruik binnenshuis met de juiste stroom en voeding (zie Technische specificaties).
• Het toe stel is niet ontworpen v o or een continue werkin g : regel matige onder breki ngen ver lengen de
levensduur.
• Wanneer u het toestel voor het eerst gebruikt, kan dit gepaar d gaan met een bepaalde geur. Dit is
normaal en d e eventuele geur zal g eleidelijk aan verdwij nen.
• Sluit het toestel niet aan op een dimmerpack, zelfs al gebruikt u het dimcircuit uitsluitend vo o r 0 %
tot 100 % schakelen.
• Gebruik de oorspronk elijke verpakkin g wanneer u het toestel vervoert.
• Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadplegi ng.
4. Eigenschappen

5. Installatie
Lamp
• Plaa ts of v ervang een lamp en kel wann eer het toestel niet i s aangesl oten op het l ichtnet.
• Laat een lamp afkoelen voor u ze vervangt: de bedr ijfstemperatuur van een l amp ligt rond d e
700 °C.
• Raak een halogeenlamp niet aan met uw blote handen. Gebruik een doek o m de lamp te vervang en.
• Install eer geen lampen met een hoger ver mogen . De ze w ord en warm er dan d ie waarop dit toestel is
voorzien.
• Gebruik het toestel niet indi en de lamp n iet goed vastgedraaid is of zonder b esch ermdeksel.
• Vervang een vervormde of besch a d igde lamp d oor een lamp van hetzelfde typ e (zie “Technische
specificaties”).
De lamp vervangen:
1. Trek aan het veer tje en open d e behuizing.
2. Verwijd er de oude lamp en breng d e nieuwe in.
3. Maak de fitting vast en sluit de behuiz ing.
Het toestel monteren
• Laat een g eschoolde tech nicus di t toestel in stalleren conform EN 6 0598-2-17 en andere toep a ssel ijke
normen.
• De constr uctie w aa r a an het toestel wordt bevesti gd, moet ged urend e 1 uur 10 keer het gewicht van
di t toestel kunnen d r a g en zonder te vervormen.
• Maak het toestel ook altijd vast met een tweede bevestigingsmiddel bv. een veiligheidskabel.
• Sta nooi t r echt onder het t o estel wanneer u het mont eer t, ver wijdert of herstelt.
• Laat het toestel controleren d o or een geschoold e technicus voor u het in gebrui k n eemt en laat het 1
x per jaar volledig nakijken.
• Install eer dit toestel op een plaats waar niet veel mensen voorbijk omen en niet toegankelijk is voor
onbevoegden.
• Een d eg el ijke praktijkervari ng is vereist voor de plaatsing van dit toestel . U moet de
maximumbelasting van de draagconstructie kunnen berekenen, weten welk constructiemateriaal u
kunt g eb ruiken. L a at het materi aal en het toestel r egelmatig n akijken. Monteer het t oestel niet zelf
indien u er g een ervaring mee heeft. Een slechte montage kan leiden tot verwondingen.
• Verwijder alle b r andbaar materiaal i n een straal van 0,5 m rond het toestel.
