1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the HQ-Power VDSSM4! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, do not install or use it and contact your dealer. Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.

2. Safety Instructions

Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.

Indoor use only.

Keep this device away from rain, moisture, splashing and dripping liquids. Never put objects filled with liquid on top of or close to the device.

Be very careful during the installation: touching live wires can cause life-threatening electroshocks.

Do not touch the device during operation as the housing heats up.

Protection Class 1 device. Connect only to grounded outlet.

Risk of electric shock.

∙Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.

∙Note that damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.

3. General Guidelines

∙Do not use the device when damage to housing or cables is noticed.

∙Do not attempt to service the device yourself but contact an authorised dealer.

∙Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.

∙Do not switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to changes in temperature. Avoid damage to the device by letting it stabilise to room temperature before switching it on.

∙Protected the device against extreme heat, dust and moisture.

∙Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.

∙All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.

∙Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage. Have an authorised dealer replace it if necessary.

∙Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of this manual.

∙Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.

∙The VDSSM4 should only be used indoors with an alternating current of max. 230VAC / 50Hz.

6. Description of the satellites

∙Each satellite has a NL4 Speakon® connector, which must be connected to the output (8) of the subwoofer. No other connections are required.

∙It is possible to mount the satellite on a speaker stand, e.g. VDL3SS (tube Ø35mm).

7. Installation

∙Always make sure to install the VDSSM4 subwoofer and satellites on a flat and stable surface, protected from rain and moisture.

∙Make all necessary connections before applying power to the device.

∙The VDSSM4 can be connected to the mixer in either mono or stereo mode.

∙To use the device in mono mode, connect the jack inputs from channel 1 (5) and channel 2 (6) together and plug the connector coming from the mixer in the XLR3 connector from channel 1 (5).

∙To use the device in stereo mode, simply connect the XLR3 connectors coming from the mixer in channel 1 (5) and channel 2 (6).

∙The satellites must be connected via a male-male NL4 Speakon® cable to the subwoofer (8).

∙With the signal ground/lift switch (7), the grounding mode can be selected. Only change this setting when the device is off!

∙Verify that the power switch (11) is in the OFF-position and plug the power cable in (9).

∙Switch the power switch (11) to the ON-position. The power LED (4) on top of the subwoofer will turn on.

∙To replace the fuse (10), disconnect the power cable, unscrew the protective cover and replace the fuse with a new fuse with the same specifications. Reinstall the plastic cover and reapply power to the device.

8. Transportation

∙To transport the system, simply set the subwoofer on its casters and place the satellites onto the subwoofer with the acoustic grille facing down.

∙Secure the satellites to the subwoofer with a locking strap (not included).

∙Always handle the device with care.

1. Inleiding

2. Veiligheidsinstructies

Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van kinderen en onbevoegden.

Enkel voor gebruik binnenshuis.

Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van regen, vochtigheid, opspattende en druppelende vloeistoffen. Plaats geen objecten gevuld met vloeistof op het toestel.

Wees voorzichtig bij de installatie: raak geen kabels aan die onder stroom staan om dodelijke elektroshocks te vermijden.

Raak het toestel niet aan wanneer het in gebruik is: de behuizing wordt warm.

Beschermingklasse 1. enkel aansluiten op een geaard stopcontact. Schokgevaar.

∙De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.

∙Schade door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel vallen niet onder de garantie.

3. Algemene richtlijnen

∙Gebruik het toestel niet indien de behuizing of de bekabeling beschadiging vertoont.

∙Laat dit toestel repareren door een geschoolde technicus.

∙Schud het toestel niet dooreen. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de installatie en de bediening van dit toestel.

∙Om beschadiging te vermijden, zet u het toestel best niet aan onmiddellijk nadat het werd blootgesteld aan temperatuurschommelingen. Wacht tot het toestel op kamertemperatuur gekomen is.

∙Bescherm dit toestel tegen regen, vochtigheid en stof.

∙Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken.

∙Om veiligheidsredenen mag de gebruiker geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel.

∙De voedingskabel mag niet omgeplooid of beschadigd zijn. Laat uw dealer zo nodig een nieuwe kabel plaatsen.

∙De beschikbare netspanning mag niet hoger zijn dan de spanning in de specificaties achteraan de handleiding.

∙Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruik vervalt de garantie.

∙Gebruik de VDSSM4 enkel binnenshuis met een netspanning van max. 230 VAC / 50 Hz.

6. Omschrijving van de satellieten

∙Elke satelliet heeft een Speakon® -aansluiting type NL4 die u moet aansluiten aan de uitgang (8) van de subwoofer. Er zijn geen verdere aansluitingen vereist.

∙De satelliet kan op een statief gemonteerd worden, bv. onze VDL3SS (buis Ø 35 mm).
