Safety instructions

RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!

►Ensure that the base with the electrical connections NEVER comes into contact with water! Ensure that the base is completely dry before use, especially if it has accidentally become wet.

►Use the kettle only with the supplied base.

►Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp during operation. Lay the cable so that it cannot be trapped or otherwise damaged.

►To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department, to avoid the risk of injury.

►After use, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket. Switching the appliance o is not su cient, because the appliance is under power for as long as the plug is connected to the power socket.

►Before use check the appliance for signs of visible external damage. Do not put into operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.

►Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist companies or by the Customer Service department. Incompetent repairs can result in significant risks for the user. In addition warranty claims become void.

NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids! You could receive a fatal electric shock if residual liquids come into contact with live components during operation.

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

►Heat water only with the lid closed, otherwise the automatic switch- o cannot function. Boiling water could then spray out over the rim.

►Always use the scale filter insert when operating the appliance.

►Hot steam clouds may be released. The kettle also becomes very hot during use. It is always best to wear oven mitts when handling the kettle.

►Ensure that the appliance is stood stably and vertically before switching it on. Boiling water can cause an unstable kettle to fall over.

►Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.

►This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or, in regard to the safe use of the appliance, have been instructed in its use and have understood the potential risks.

►This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years or more if they are supervised or, in regard to the safe use of the appliance, have been instructed in its use and have understood the potential risks. Cleaning and user maintenance tasks should not be carried out by children unless they are aged 8 years or more and are supervised. The device and its connecting cable must be kept away from children younger than 8 years old.

►Children may not play with the appliance.

►Do not fill the kettle up to more than the MAX marking! Otherwise boiling water may spill out!

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

►Do not use an external timing switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance.

►Never leave the appliance unsupervised whilst in use.

►Ensure that the appliance, the power cable and the plug do not come into contact with hot plates or open flames.

Unpacking

♦Remove all components of the appliance and the operating manual from the carton.

♦Remove all packing material.

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the appliance against transport damage. The packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed according to the regionally established regulations.

NOTICE

►If possible, preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can pack the appliance ideally for its return.

Initial use

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

►Always and only use freshly drawn mains water in the kettle! Do not consume any water that is not certified as potable. If you do, you are taking a risk with your health!

Before starting the appliance up, make certain that ...

–the appliance, plug and power cable are in a serviceable condition and ...

–all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance.

1)Open the lid by pressing on the release button 1.

2)Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX marking and let it come to a full boil once – as described in the next section.

3)After it has boiled, pour this water away.

4)Rinse the kettle out with clear water.

5)Fill the appliance with water once again, up to the MAX marking, and then bring it to boil. When done, pour this water away also.

The appliance is now ready for use.

RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!

►Never place the electrical base 3 close to water – this would be a potentially fatal risk!

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

►For safety reasons you should not open the lid when the water is boiling or extremely hot. There is a risk of scalding.

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

►Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume any water that has already stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water that has cooled down. Always pour old water away. Microbes could have formed in it!

NOTE

►Always ensure that the ON/OFF switch 2 is turned to ““ when the mains plug is unplugged and the device is standing on the base 3.

If not, the device could heat up unintendedly as soon as the mains plug is plugged in again.

1)Lift the kettle o of the base when filling it!

2)Press the unlocking button 1 and open the lid.

NOTE

►When filling it, hold the kettle upright. This is the only way to read the markings on the scale 5 correctly.

3)Fill the kettle...

–to at least the MIN mark, so that the appliance does not overheat,

–to maximum the MAX mark, so that boiling water cannot spill out.

4)First close the lid, then place the kettle on the base 3, so that it sits securely on the base 3.

5)Now insert the plug into the mains power socket.

6)Press the ON/OFF switch 2 downwards so that it engages.

7)The control lamps integrated into the scale 5 as well as the control lamp in the ON/OFF switch 2 indicate that the appliance is now heating up.

8)As soon as the water is boiling, the appliance will switch itself o , the ON/OFF switch 2 clicks upwards and the light goes out.

	IE			► This appliance is fitted with an overheating protector: if the appliance is
				switched on accidentally, without any water in the kettle, the appliance
				automatically switches itself o .
				If, for example due to a non-closed lid the appliance boils dry, the appliance
				switches o automatically.
				In such cases first allow the appliance to cool down before using it again.

Cleaning and Care

RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!

► Before cleaning, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket! There is the risk of receiving an electric shock!

► Do not open any part of the housing. There are no user-serviceable elements inside. An open housing will create the risk of a potentially fatal electrical shock.

NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids! You could receive a fatal electric shock if residual liquids come into contact with live components during operation.

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

► Let the appliance cool su ciently before cleaning it. Risk of Burns!

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

►Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning materials. These could attack the upper surfaces and irreparably damage the appliance.

■Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cable with a slightly damp cloth. Be sure to dry the appliance well before taking it back into use. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. Ensure that there are no detergent residues in and on the appliance before it is taken back into use.

■Rinse the inside of the kettle out with clean water.

■If there are any deposits in the kettle, wipe out the inside surface with a moist cloth, or use a washing up brush or bottle brush. Then rinse the kettle out with clean water again.

In the event of scale deposits:

Scale deposits on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy consumption and reduce the service life of the appliance.

Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent.

■Before descaling, remove the scale filter insert 6 (see chapter “Inserting/ removing the scale filter insert”).

■Use a descaler designed for household appliances (e.g. for co ee machines). Proceed as detailed in the instructions provided for the use of the decalcifying agent.

■After descaling, rinse the appliance with lots of clean water.

Inserting/removing the scale filter insert

1)Open the lid.

2)Press the tab on the scale filter insert 6 slightly downwards and then pull the scale filter insert 6 inwards and downwards so that you can pull it out of its mounting.

3)Then pull the scale filter insert 6 upwards and out of the kettle.

4)Clean the scale filter insert 6 with a slightly moistened dishcloth and under running water.

5)After cleaning, insert the scale filter insert 6 again. Ensure that it is sitting correctly in its mounting, and that the tab has clicked into place.

NOTE

►If the scale deposits in the scale filter insert 6 have solidified, place the filter in a water-vinegar solution at a ratio of 6:1 for a few hours. The scale deposits will dissolve themselves. Rinse the scale filter insert 6 with plenty of clear water.

Storage

■Allow the appliance to cool down completely before putting it into storage.

■Wind the power cable around the cable winder 4 under the base 3.

■Store the appliance at a dry location.

Disposal of the appliance

Do not dispose of this appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EU.

Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Pay heed to the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, consult your local disposal facility.

Notes on the Declaration of Conformity

This appliance complies, in regard to conformance with basic requirements and other relevent regulations, with the EMV Directive 2004/108/EC, as well as the Directive for Low Voltage Devices 2006/95/EC.

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. This appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery.

Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim, please contact our service department by telephone. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.

NOTICE

►The warranty applies only to material or manufacturing faults, it does not apply to transport damage, normal wear and tear or damage to fragile parts, such as switches.

This appliance is intended solely for private domestic use, not for commercial applications. If this product has been subjected to improper or inappropriate handling, abuse, or modifications not carried out by one of our authorised sales and service outlets, the warranty will be considered void.

This warranty does not a ect your statutory rights.

The warranty period is not extended by repairs made under the warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired parts.

Damages and defects extant at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking, resp. no later than two days after the date of purchase.

Repairs carried out after lapse of the warranty period are subject to charge.

►Pidä laitteen kansi suljettuna aina kun keität vettä tai sen sammutusautomatiikka lakkaa toimimasta. Kiehuvaa vettä voi muuten

myös roiskua reunan yli.	FI

►Käytä laitetta aina kalkkisuodattimen kanssa.

►Laitteesta voi purkautua kuumaa vesihöyryä. Vesikannu kuumenee lisäksi huomattavasti käytön aikana. Käytä patalappua tai -kinnasta.

►Varmista, että laite seisoo tukevasti ja pystysuorassa, ennen kuin kytket sen päälle. Jos laite ei ole tukevasti paikallaan, kiehuva vesi voi kaataa sen.

►Älä avaa kantta veden kiehumisen aikana.

►Tätä laitetta voivat käyttää rajoittuneet fyysiset, aistilliset tai henkiset kyvyt taikka puutteellisen kokemuksen ja/tai tiedon omaavat henkilöt, kun heitä valvotaan tai kun heitä on opastettu laitteen turvalliseen käyttöön, ja he ovat ymmärtäneet siitä aiheutuvat vaarat.

►Tätä laitetta voivat käyttää 8 vuotta täyttäneet ja sitä vanhemmat lapset, kun heitä valvotaan tai kun heitä on opastettu laitteen turvalliseen käyttöön, ja he ovat ymmärtäneet siitä aiheutuvat vaarat. Lapset eivät saa suorittaa puhdistusta ja käyttäjähuoltoa, paitsi jos he ovat täyttäneet 8 vuotta, ja heitä valvotaan. Laite ja sen liitäntäjohto on pidettävä poissa alle 8-vuotiaiden lasten ulottuvilta.

Pakkauksen hävittäminen

Pakkaus suojaa laitetta kuljetusvaurioilta. Pakkausmateriaalit on valittu ekologisesti kestävistä ja hävitysteknisistä syistä, ja se on siksi kierrätettävissä.

Pakkauksen palauttaminen materiaalin kiertokulkuun säästää raaka-aineita ja vähentää jätteiden esiintymistä. Hävitä pakkausmateriaalit, joita ei enää tarvita, paikallisesti voimassa olevien määräysten mukaisesti.

►Mikäli mahdollista, säilytä alkuperäispakkaus laitteen takuuajan aikana, jotta voit pakata laitteen asianmukaisesti takuutapauksessa.

Käyttöönotto

VAROITUS - LOUKKAANTUMISVAARA!

►Käytä vedenkeittimessä aina vain raikasta juomavettä! Älä nauti vettä, jota ei ole tarkoitettu juomavedeksi. Muutoin on olemassa terveydellisten vahinkojen vaara!

Varmista ennen laitteen käyttöönottoa, että ...

―laitteen, verkkopistokkeen sekä virtajohdon tulee olla moitteettomassa kunnossa ...

―kaiken pakkausmateriaalin tulee olla poistettuna.

1)Avaa kansi painamalla avauspainiketta 1.

2)Täytä laite vedellä Max-merkintään asti ja anna veden kiehua kerran kokonaan – seuraavassa luvussa kuvatulla tavalla.

3)Kaada tämä vesi keittämisen jälkeen pois.

4)Huuhtele kannu puhtaalla vedellä.

5)Täytä laite vielä kerran vedellä MAX-merkintään asti ja anna sen kiehahtaa. Kaada myös tämä vesi pois.

Laite on nyt käyttövalmis.

Veden keittäminen

VAARA - SÄHKÖISKU!

►Turvallisuussyistä kantta ei tulisi avata, kun vesi kiehuu tai on erittäin kuumaa. On olemassa palovammojen vaara.

VAROITUS - LOUKKAANTUMISVAARA!

►Käytä aina raikasta juomavettä. Älä käytä vettä, joka on seissyt vedenkeittimessä yhtä tuntia pidempään. Älä keitä jäähtynyttä vettä uudelleen. Kaada vanha vesi aina pois. Siihen voi muodostua bakteereita!

OHJE

►Varmista aina, että virtakytkin 2 on asennossa ””, kun verkkopistoke on irrotettu pistorasiasta, ja laite seisoo jalustalla 3. Muutoin laite alkaa kuumentaa heti, kun verkkopistoke liitetään sähköverkkoon.

1)Ota vesikannu jalustalta täyttämistä varten!

2)Avaa kansi painamalla avauspainiketta 1.

OHJE

►Pidä kannu pystysuorassa sitä täyttäessäsi. Vain tällöin voit lukea asteikon 5 oikein.

3)Täytä kannu...

―vähintään MIN-merkintään, jotta laite ei ylikuumene,

―enintään MAX-merkintään, jotta vesi ei kiehu ylitse.

4)Sulje ensin kansi ja aseta sen jälkeen kannu jalustalle 3 niin, että se on tiukasti kiinni jalustassa 3.

5)Laita nyt pistoke pistorasiaa.

6)Paina virtakytkintä 2 alaspäin niin, että se lukittuu paikoilleen.

7)Asteikolle 5 integroidut merkkivalot sekä virtakytkimessä 2 oleva merkkivalo osoittavat, milloin keitin lämmittää.

8)Heti kun vesi kiehuu, laite sammuu, virtakytkin 2 ponnahtaa ylös ja valo sammuu.

OHJEET

► Tämä laite on varustettu ylikuumenemissuojalla: jos laite kytketään tahattomasti päälle ilman, että kannussa on vettä, laite kytkeytyy automaattisesti pois päältä.

FI Jos laite menee kuivakäynnille esimerkiksi sulkemattomasta kannesta johtuen, laite kytkeytyy automaattisesti pois päältä.

Anna tällaisissa tapauksissa laitteen ensin jäähtyä, ennen kuin käytät sitä uudelleen.

Puhdistus ja hoito

VAARA - SÄHKÖISKU!

►Vedä aina ennen puhdistusta verkkopistoke pois verkkopistorasiasta! Muutoin on olemassa sähköiskun vaara!

►Älä koskaan avaa kotelon osia. Sisällä ei ole minkäänlaisia hallintalaitteita. Jos kotelo avataan, sähköisku voi aiheuttaa hengenvaaran.

Älä koskaan upota laitetta veteen tai muihin nesteisiin! Jos nestejäämiä pääsee käytön aikana jännitettä johtaviin osiin, tuloksena voi olla sähköiskun aiheuttama hengenvaara.

VAROITUS - LOUKKAANTUMISVAARA!

► Anna laitteen jäähtyä ennen puhdistusta. Palovammavaara!

HUOMIO - AINEELLISIA VAHINKOJA!

►Älä käytä hankaavia tai syövyttäviä puhdistusaineita. Nämä voivat vahingoittaa pintaa ja vaurioittaa laiteen korjauskelvottomaan kuntoon.

■Puhdista ulkopinnat ja verkkokaapeli kevyesti kostutetulla astiapyyhkeellä. Kuivaa laite joka tapauksessa hyvin, ennen kuin käytät sitä uudelleen. Jos lika on kovapintaista, lisää liinaan laimeaa astianpesuainetta. Varmista, että laitteen päällä tai sisällä ei ole huuhteluaineen jäämiä, ennen kuin otat sen jälleen käyttöön.

■Huuhtele kannun sisäosa puhtaalla vedellä.

■Jos kannussa on kertymiä, pyyhi sisäpinnat kostealla liinalla tai käytä astianpesutai pulloharjaa. Huuhtele kannu sen jälkeen vielä kerran puhtaalla vedellä.
