Room Freeze Protection Function (RFP)

Room Freeze Protection function (RFP) is used in spaces that are unoccupied during the winter, for the purpose of protecting any equipment or appliances which may be destroyed as a result of freezing temperature.

To select Room Freeze Protection

When selected, the unit will circulate the air in High mode for monitoring the temperature. When the sensor detects the temperature drops below 46 °F / 8 °C the compressor/heat pump operation begins, when the temperature reaches 50 °F / 10 °C, the compressor stops and repeat this cycle.

ROOM FREEZE PROTECTION FUNCTION (RFP) OPERATION

When the RFP is selected, the unit will operate the fan at high speed for proper room temperature monitoring. When the sensor detects that the room temperature has dropped below 46 °F / 8 °C, the compressor/heat pump operation begins. When the room temperature reaches 50 °F / 10 °C, the unit shuts off, then will repeat continuously if the temperature drops below 46 °F / 8 °C again.

<Disclaimer>

This function may not be performed if the unit is not energized, or under a certain condition that unit is unable to operate such as in protection mode. Please consult with the HVAC installers or professional for details.

The Room Freeze Protection function (RFP) cannot be used unless the unit is energized and set into the RFP mode. In the advent of a power failure this mode will not function. ECONAVI and AUTO COMFORT

■ Econavi with intelligent eco sensors

Intelligent eco sensors detect potential waste of energy using the human activity sensor.

■ Auto Comfort with intelligent eco sensors

Intelligent eco sensors detect potential waste of energy using the human activity sensor and auto adjust the temperature and fan speed during high activity level to provide comfort environment.

The human activity sensor scans areas of heat source and movement in a room.

Based on area activeness, flap will adjust its position automatically.

The human activity sensor is influenced by the location of the indoor unit, the movement speed of human/non-human activity, temperature range, etc.

The human activity sensor may mistakenly detect non-human activity and source of heat, such as pets, or may not detect the human activity or source of heat if the person stays motionless.

Do not place large objects near the sensor and keep away heating units or humidifier from the sensor’s detections area.
