2 Main Power Supply Verification: Your ■ Yamaha electronic product has been
manufactured specifically for the main supply voltage used in your area. If you should move, or if any doubt exists, please contact your dealer for instructions. The main supply voltage required by your electronic product is printed on the name plate. For name plate location, see graphic in on back cover of this mannal.
3This product may be equipped with a ■ polarized line plug (one blade wider than the other). If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact an electri
cian to have your obsolete outlet replaced. Do NOT defeat the safety purpose of the plug. Yamaha products not having polarized plugs incorporate construction methods and designs that do not require line plug polarization.

5 Environment: Your electronic product

Major Features of
the PSR-6300
1.This Portatone PSR-6300 has Touch Sensitive keys {velocity sensitive), which let you add greater expression to your playing according to the downward speed of the keys.
2.Three voice groups (Solo, Upper Orchestra, Lower Orchestra) are provided, which is like having three keyboards in one. You can enjoy 4,912 (max.) tonal combinations with the
48 tones.
3.The really big selection of 48 rhythmic accompaniment patterns includes Disco, Hard Rock, Shuffle, Reggae, and Boogie, giving you plenty of variety and superb realism. Moreover, you can store eight of your own accompaniment patterns.
4.The 5-Track Music Programmer enables you to record your performance (Upper and Lower Orchestra can be stored on chord notes). Voice and rhythm can be changed during playback, and your programmed music can be stored digitally on a RAM Pack or cassette tape.
5.Built-in MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) jacks allow connection to and synchronized performance with other MIDI Instru ments, or connection to a music computer having MIDI jacks.

The music stand is housed in the upper part of the control panel.

The sustain effect, which makes notes linger after you lift your fingers from the keys, can be added to each of the voices. Press SUSTAIN 1 (g) for a concert hall-like sustain and SUSTAIN 2 for an effect similar to that provided by a piano’s damper pedal.

In addition to and separate from the Orchestra voices described so far, there are 16 types of Solo voice, which include natural musical instrument sounds such as Trumpet and Saxophone, along with the contemporary sounds of Popsynth, Slapsynth, and other electronic voices.
1.The UPPER ORCHESTRA ON/OFF® and SOLO ON/OFF @ switches enable you to play an Orchestra voice either on its own or together with a Solo voice, or a Solo voice on its own.
To play only a Solo voice, depress the SOLO ON/OFF switch (the UPPER ORCHESTRA ON/OFF lamp should be off). If both these voice sections are switched off, an UPPER ORCHESTRA voice is produced.
2.Select the desired voice by pressing one of the SOLO voice selectors

Transposer and
The TRANSPOSER ® lets you adjust the PortaTone’s pitch to suit either a singing voice — so anyone can sing along as you play—or an instrument such as a trumpet, clarinet or saxophone.
Whenever A is pressed, the pitch rises by a semi-tone. When T is pressed, the pitch decreases by a semi-tone. And when both selectors are simultaneously pressed, the preset pitch is obtained.

Now it’s time to add a dynamic rhythm accompaniment to your melody.
Pick the rhythm that best suits the music you’re going to play and press the relevant selector In the RHYTHM selector group You can also select one of the eight rhythms preset on the Custom Accompaniment Memory selectors
When you turn the keyboard on, the DISCO rhythm is automatically selected.
After selecting a rhythm, press the START selector®.
