What water to use?
Yourappliancehasbeendesignedtofunctionwithuntreatedtapwater.However,itisnecessarytooperatetheSelf-Clean functionregularlyinordertoeliminatehardwaterdepositsfromthesteamchamber. Ifyourwaterisveryhard(checkwithyourlocalwaterauthority),itispossibletomixtapwaterwithstore-boughtdistilled ordemineralisedwaterinthefollowingproportions:
-50%tapwater,-50%distilledordemineralisedwater.
Types of water not to use?
Heatconcentratestheelementscontainedinwaterduringevaporation.Thetypesofwaterlistedbelowcontainorganic
wasteormineralelementsthatcancausespitting,brownstaining,orprematurewearoftheappliance:waterfrom
clothesdryers,scentedorsoftenedwater,waterfromrefrigerators,batteriesorairconditioners,puredistilledor demineralisedwaterorrainwatershouldnotbeusedinyourTefaliron.Alsodonottouseboiled,filteredorbottledwater.

2.Chooseyourironingprogramme
-YourironhastheAutosteamControlfunction,whichrecommends8differentironing programmes: •SettheAutosteamControlThermostattomatchthetypeoftextileyouwishtoiron.Your ironautomaticallyandaccuratelydeterminestheexacttemperatureandsteamflowthat aresuitable,inordertoguaranteethebestresults.
•Toselecttheappropriateironingprogramme,activatethethermostatlocatedunderthe handle - fig. 5.

3.SprayFunction

5.Verticalsteamironing
-Idealforremovingcreasesfromsuits,jackets,skirts,hangingcurtainsetc
-Hangthegarmentonahangerandholdthefabricslightlytautwithonehand.The steamisveryhot,soyoushouldalwaysdothiswiththegarmentonahanger–never whilesomeoneiswearingit.

7.Anti-dripfunction
-AutosteamControl,i.e.theautomaticselectionoftheironingprogrammedependingon thefabricselected,makesitpossibletoreducesteamflowatlowtemperaturesand preventsyourironfromdrippingwaterontoyourlinen.
Recommendations:
Fabrics and ironing temperatures: •Yourironheatsup quickly:sobeginby ironingfabricsthatare ironedatlow temperaturesfirst,then goontothoserequiring ahighertemperature, •ifyouchangetoa programrequiringlower temperatures,waitfor thethermostatlightto comeonagainbefore continuingtoiron. •whenironingfabrics withmixedfibres,set theironingtemperature forthemostdelicate fibre. 2.Cleaningthesoleplate
Yourironisequippedwithaself-cleaningsoleplate,whichworksbycatalysis. Itsexclusiveactivecoatinghelpscontinuouslyeliminatealltheimpuritiesgeneratedbythe normalday-to-dayuseoftheiron. However,ifyouironusinganunsuitableprogramme,sometracesmaybeleftwhichrequire manualcleaning.Inthiscase,itisrecommendedthatyouuseasoftdampclothonthewarm soleplate,inordernottodamagethesurface.
Recommendations: the self-cleaning function helps to slow down the scaling up of your iron.
Note!
The steam control position must necessarily be on STEAM (fig.1.2)in order to remove or replace the iron's antiscale rod.
Attention!
The use of a scouring pad will cause damage to your soleplate's self-cleaning coating (fig.17)
