What water to use?

Yourappliancehasbeendesignedtofunctionwithuntreatedtapwater.However,itisnecessarytooperatetheSelf-Clean functionregularlyinordertoeliminatehardwaterdepositsfromthesteamchamber. Ifyourwaterisveryhard(checkwithyourlocalwaterauthority),itispossibletomixtapwaterwithstore-boughtdistilled ordemineralisedwaterinthefollowingproportions:

-50%tapwater,-50%distilledordemineralisedwater.

Types of water not to use?

Heatconcentratestheelementscontainedinwaterduringevaporation.Thetypesofwaterlistedbelowcontainorganic

wasteormineralelementsthatcancausespitting,brownstaining,orprematurewearoftheappliance:waterfrom

clothesdryers,scentedorsoftenedwater,waterfromrefrigerators,batteriesorairconditioners,puredistilledor demineralisedwaterorrainwatershouldnotbeusedinyourTefaliron.Alsodonottouseboiled,filteredorbottledwater.

Steam ironing

1.Filling the water tank

-Unplugyourironbeforefillingit.

-SetthesteamcontroltoDRY- fig. 1.1.

-Taketheironinonehandandtiltitslightly,sothatyoucanseethewatertankfillinghole -

-Toopenthewatertank,pressthebutton- fig. 2.

-Fillthewatertank - fig. 3uptothemark“MAX”.ThemarkMAXcorrespondstoacapacity of350cc.

-Closethewatertankcoveruntilyouhearaclick- fig. 4.

-Youcannowpluginyouriron.

2.Chooseyourironingprogramme

-YourironhastheAutosteamControlfunction,whichrecommends8differentironing programmes: •SettheAutosteamControlThermostattomatchthetypeoftextileyouwishtoiron.Your ironautomaticallyandaccuratelydeterminestheexacttemperatureandsteamflowthat aresuitable,inordertoguaranteethebestresults.

•Toselecttheappropriateironingprogramme,activatethethermostatlocatedunderthe handle - fig. 5.

-Rotationleft:selectstheprogramsrequiringlowtemperatureandsteamlevels.

-Rotationright:selectstheprogramsrequiringhightemperatureandsteamlevels.

-Theprogramselectedappearsautomaticallyontheindicatorpanelatthefrontofthe iron- fig. 6.

-SetthesteamcontroltoSTEAM- fig. 1.2.

-Whenyourironreachestherequiredtemperature,thethermostatindicatorgoesout- fig. 7. Youcanstartironing.

3.SprayFunction

-Whileironing,pressafewtimesinsuccessionontheSpraybuttontodampenthefabric - fig. 8andironoutawkwardcreases.

4.Formoresteam(shotofsteambutton)

-PresstheShotofSteambuttonfromtimetotime - fig. 9.

-Waitafewsecondsbetweeneachshotbeforepressingthebuttonagain.

5.Verticalsteamironing

-Idealforremovingcreasesfromsuits,jackets,skirts,hangingcurtainsetc

-Hangthegarmentonahangerandholdthefabricslightlytautwithonehand.The steamisveryhot,soyoushouldalwaysdothiswiththegarmentonahanger–never whilesomeoneiswearingit.

-SetyourthermostattoMAX- fig. 10.

-PresstheShotofSteambutton()repeatedly - fig. 9movingtheironfromtopto bottom - fig. 11.

-Holdtheironafewcentimetresfromthefabrictoavoidburningdelicatefabrics.

6.Anti-CalcPlusSystem

-Youironisequippedwithanintegralanti-scalesystem- fig. 12.

-Thissystemwillhelptoprovide:

•abetterironingqualitywithaconstantflowofsteam,

•alongerlifeforyouriron.

7.Anti-dripfunction

-AutosteamControl,i.e.theautomaticselectionoftheironingprogrammedependingon thefabricselected,makesitpossibletoreducesteamflowatlowtemperaturesand preventsyourironfromdrippingwaterontoyourlinen.

Recommendations:

Fabrics and ironing temperatures: •Yourironheatsup quickly:sobeginby ironingfabricsthatare ironedatlow temperaturesfirst,then goontothoserequiring ahighertemperature, •ifyouchangetoa programrequiringlower temperatures,waitfor thethermostatlightto comeonagainbefore continuingtoiron. •whenironingfabrics withmixedfibres,set theironingtemperature forthemostdelicate fibre. 8.Auto-Stopsafetyfeature(dependingonmodel)

9.AutocleanCatalys®Soleplate

When the Auto-Stop warning light is on, it is normal for the thermostat light to remain off.

-Itsexclusivecoatinghelpscontinuouslyeliminatealltheimpuritiesgeneratedbynormaluse. Itisrecommendedthatyoualwaysstandyourirononhisheeltopreserveitsself-cleaningcoating.

-Unplugtheiron,andwhenthesoleplateisjustwarm,wipeitwithasoftcloth.

2.Cleaningthesoleplate

Yourironisequippedwithaself-cleaningsoleplate,whichworksbycatalysis. Itsexclusiveactivecoatinghelpscontinuouslyeliminatealltheimpuritiesgeneratedbythe normalday-to-dayuseoftheiron. However,ifyouironusinganunsuitableprogramme,sometracesmaybeleftwhichrequire manualcleaning.Inthiscase,itisrecommendedthatyouuseasoftdampclothonthewarm soleplate,inordernottodamagethesurface.

Recommendations: the self-cleaning function helps to slow down the scaling up of your iron.

Note!

The steam control position must necessarily be on STEAM (fig.1.2)in order to remove or replace the iron's antiscale rod.

Attention!

The use of a scouring pad will cause damage to your soleplate's self-cleaning coating (fig.17)
