IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions shoud always be followed including the following :
•Read all instructions carefully before using.
•To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put base of appliance in water or any other liquid.
•Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
•Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
•Avoid contact with moving parts.

•The use of accessory attachements, including canning jars, not recommended or sold by KRUPS may cause a risk of injury to persons.
•Do not use outdoors.
•Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
•Do not let cord contact hot surface, including the stove.
•Keep hands and utensils out of container while blending to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the blender. A utensil, such as a wooden spoon, may be used but must be used only when the blender is not running.
•Blades are sharp. Handle with care.
•To reduce the risk of injury, never place the cutter-assembly blades on base without jar properly attached.
•Always operate blender with cover in place.
•When blending hot liquids, remove center piece of two-piece cover.
For the Food Processor accessory :
•Keep hands and utensils away from moving blades or discs while processing food to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or

damage to the food processor. A utensil, such as a wooden spoon, may be used but must be used only when the food processor is not running.

•Be certain cover is securely locked in place before operating appliance.
•Never feed food by hand. Always use food pusher.
•Do not attempt to defeat the cover interlock mechanism. This will void the warranty.
•Always remove the blade before emptying the food processor attachment.
•Do not exceed the quantities of ingredients nor the processing times shown in the enclosed table.
•The food processor attachment can only be used with KRUPS Power XL6 Combi.
•Never place the attachment in an oven or into a microwave oven.

SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS Regarding your cord set :
A. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to

fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
B.Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
C.If an extension cord is used, (1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, (2) if the appliance is of the grounding type, the extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord, and (3) the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

Directions for use
•Before using for the first time, clean the various parts of the blender and food processor (except the base of the food processor attachment (e4)) with hot soapy water. Rinse and wipe dry.
. Important notes:
•Always press the OFF button (b1) before placing one of the accessories on the motor unit.
On models with the food processor accessory (e), the appliance will only operate if an accessory is correctly positioned on the motor unit (a).
. BLENDER UNIT (D):
•Moisten the blade unit seal (d3) by running under water.
•Position the blade unit (d3) in the glass jar (d2) and turn it until it locks in place (1).
•Place the base of unit (a) on a clean, dry and level surface.
•Place the blender unit (d) on the base (a) (2).
•Place all the ingredients in the glass jar.
•Place the lid (d1) on the glass jar and lock in place (3). To make it easier to lock into place, moisten the lid’s integral seal. The lid must always be in place when the appliance is operating.
•Plug the appliance in.
Depending on the type of ingredients:
.Press the ON button (b2) and adjust the speed using the speed selector (b5). To stop the appliance, press the OFF button (b1).
.To crush ice : Press and release repeatedly the “Ice Crusher” button (b3). The appliance stops when the button is released.
.To avoid over processing : Adjust the speed using the selector (b5), then press and release repeatedly the “Vari Pulse” button (b4). The appliance stops when the button is released.
•Unplug the appliance.
Tips:
•You can use the measuring cup of the lid (d1) to facilitate the fitting or removal of the blade unit (d3) (4).
•For a more even mixture, insert the liquid ingredients first and switch the Krups blender on for a brief moment before inserting the solid ingredients.
•With thick mixtures, do not be afraid to stop the appliance during preparation so that you can push the ingredients back towards the blade. This will help ensure a more even mixture.
