You have selected a high quality product. The as­sembly instructions are part of this product. They
contain important information on safety, handling
and disposal. Familiarise yourself with all the func­tions of the appliance before operating it for the
first time. To do so, read the following assembly
and safety instructions. Use the product only as de­scribed and for the indicated purpose. Keep these
instructions in a safe place. If you pass the product
on to anyone else, please ensure that you also
pass on all the documentation.

Intended use

The solar light is not suitable as residen­tial room lighting.

The solar light is intended as an outdoor accent
light. Any other use or modification of the product
constitute improper use and pose a risk of short
circuits, fire, electric shocks and damage to the
product. The manufacturer is not liable for damage
caused by improper use. The product is not
intended for commercial use.

the hands of children. Do not leave the batter­ies lying around. They may otherwise be swal­lowed by children or pets. If accidentally
swallowed seek immediate medical attention.

Children or persons lacking knowledge or ex-

perience in handling the device or have limited
physical, sensory or mental abilities, must not
use the device without supervision or instruc­tion by a person responsible for their safety.

Children must be supervised at all times to
prevent them from playing with the device.

Never leave children unsupervised with the

packaging material. The packaging material
represents a danger of suffocation. Children
frequently underestimate the dangers. Please
keep the product out of the reach of children at
all times.

This product is not a toy and should be kept

out of the reach of children. Children are not
aware of the dangers associated with handling
electrical products.

Do not use the article if you detect any kind of

damage.

DANGER - EXPLOSION

HAZARD! Do not use the solar

light in explosive environments con-

taining flammable vapours, gasses or dusts.

Product-specific

safety instructions

Do not expose the solar light to strong vibra-

tion or high mechanical loads.

Make sure the solar cell is free of dirt and free

of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise the
performance of the solar panel will diminish.

Cold temperatures negatively impact the bat-

tery operating time. Clean and store the solar
light in a dry, warm location during extended
periods of non-use, e.g. in winter.

In the event of damage, repairs or other prob-

lems with the solar light, please contact an
electrician. The LEDs cannot be replaced!

DANGER - EXPLOSION

HAZARD! Use only rechargeable

batteries of the recommended type.
Other rechargeable or single-use batteries
could explode during charging.

DANGER - FIRE HAZARD!

Never switch the solar light on

inside the packaging.

Safety instructions for

rechargeable batteries

Outdated or used rechargeable batteries may

leak chemicals which damage the product.
Therefore remove the rechargeable batteries
when not using the solar light for extended
periods.

DANGER - FIRE HAZARD!

Do not allow rechargeable batteries

to short-circuit. Otherwise the re­chargeable batteries may overheat, become a
fire hazard or explode.

DANGER - EXPLOSION

HAZARD! Never throw recharge-

able batteries into fire or water.

WARNING - WEAR

SAFETY GLOVES! If they come

into contact with skin, leaked or
damaged rechargeable batteries could cause
chemical burns; you should therefore wear suit­able protective gloves at all times if such an
event occurs.

Functionality

The solar module built into this product converts
sunlight into electricity and stores it in the recharge­able NiMH battery. Switches on the light as it
begins to get dark.
The in-built light-emitting diodes are a very long-life
and energy-saving light source.
The light duration depends on the amount of sun­light, the angle of light on the solar panel and the
temperature (the battery capacity is temperature­dependent). A vertical angle of light at tempera­tures above the freezing point is ideal.
The battery does not achieve maximum capacity
until after several charge and discharge cycles.

Start-up

Installing the light

Since the light relies on sunlight, consider and ob­serve the following points prior to installation:

Select a location where the solar module 2 is

exposed to direct sunlight during the day.

Position the solar light so the solar module 2

is not covered or in the shade (trees, roof
ridge, etc.).

Be sure the solar module 2 is not impacted

by another light source, e.g. yard or street light­ing, as this will prevent the light from switching
on at twilight. Remember many light sources
will only switch on due to the time or movement
during the night.

Prior to initial use

The solar light features a twilight sensor and an
On/Off switch. When fully charged the light on
time is approx. 6 to 8 hours.

the On/Off switch

Switch 5 set to ON - the solar light will auto-

matically switch on at twilight. At dawn the
light will automatically switch off.

Switch 5 set to OFF - the solar light is

permanently switched off.

Set the switch 5 on the underside to OFF.
Remove all four screws on the battery compart-

ment.

Remove the battery cover incl. seal.
Remove the battery 6 and replace with a

new, charged rechargeable battery of the
same type (see „Technical Data“). Please note
the polarity (+/-) when inserting the rechargea­ble battery (see Fig. B). When inserting always
be careful not to pinch the cables.

Correctly reattach the battery cover 4 incl.

the seal. Be sure the seal is seated correctly.
This will prevent water from entering the
battery compartment.

Tighten the four screws again.
Set the switch 5 to ON again.

Troubleshooting

NOTE

The device contains delicate electronic
components. For this reason it is possible
that it can be disrupted by radio trans­mitting equipment in the immediate
vicinity. These could be e.g. mobiles,
two-way radios, CB radios, wireless re­mote controls/other remote controls and
microwaves. If you notice that the device
is malfunctioning, remove any sources of
interference from the area of the device.

NOTE

Electrostatic discharges can lead to
malfunctions. In the event of such mal­functions briefly remove and reinsert the
rechargeable batteries.

Replacing the battery

The rechargeable battery is designed for pro­longed operation. However, after a long time of
use if may need to be replaced. Rechargeable bat­teries are subject to natural wear and the output
may decrease. For optimal performance the
batteries should be replaced every 12 months.
Replace the battery as shown in figures A–B.

Maintenance / Cleaning

The LEDs cannot be replaced. The solar light is
maintenance-free.

Never use caustic cleaners.
Regularly clean the solar light with a dry, lint-

free cloth. Use a slightly moist cloth to remove
any stubborn dirt.

Replace the rechargeable batteries if the light

on time decreases noticeably after some time
despite good sun exposure (see chapter „Re­placing the battery“). Only use rechargeable
batteries of the right size and of the recom­mended type (see section „Technical data“).

Battery leaks

If a battery leaked, try to remove the fluid from the
battery compartment using a soft cloth.

DANGER - RISK OF CHEM-

ICAL BURNS! Leaking batteries

can cause in chemical burns. Be
careful not to allow the battery fluid to come
into contact with your skin or your eyes. If this
does happen, immediately try to remove the
battery fluid under cold running water. Seek
medical attention to be safe.

Disposal

The packaging is made of environmentally friendly
materials, which may be disposed of through your
local recycling facilities. Contact your local commu­nity or municipal administration for more details on
how to dispose your worn-out product.

NOTE

To help protect the environment, please
dispose of the product properly, and not
in household waste, when it has reached
the end of its useful life. Please contact
your local authority for information on
collection points and their opening
hours.

In accordance with directive 2006 / 66 / EC,
defective or used rechargeable batteries must be
recycled. Return rechargeable batteries and / or the
appliance using the recycling facilities provided.

NOTE

Rechargeable batteries may not be dis­posed of with the usual domestic waste.
They may contain toxic heavy metals
and are subject to hazardous waste reg­ulations. The chemical symbols of the
heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium,
Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. Therefore
dispose of used batteries through your
municipal collection site.

Olet valinnut korkealaatuisen tuotteen. Asennusohje
on osa tuotetta. Siinä on tärkeitä turvallisuuteen,
tuotteen käyttöön ja jätehuoltoon liittyviä ohjeita.
Tutustu ennen ensimmäistä käyttöönottoa huolelli­sesti laitteen kaikkiin toimintoihin. Lue seuraavat
käyttö- ja turvaohjeet. Käytä laitetta vain käyttöoh­jeessa kuvatulla tavalla ja kuvattuun tarkoitukseen.

muutokset ovat määräysten vastaisia, ja ne voivat
johtaa turvallisuusriskeihin kuten oikosulkuun, tulipa­loon, sähköiskuun ja tuotteen vaurioitumiseen. Val­mistaja ei ota vastuuta vahingoista, jotka johtuvat
tarkoituksenvastaisesta käytöstä. Tuotetta ei ole

Toimintatapa

Älä altista aurinkokennovalaisinta voimakkaalle

tärinälle tai mekaaniselle kuormitukselle.

Huolehdi siitä, että aurinkokenno ei ole likainen

ja että se ei ole talvella lumen ja jään peitossa.
Nämä heikentävät aurinkokennon tehoa.

Alhaiset lämpötilat vaikuttavat negatiivisesti

akun kestoaikaan. Jos et käytä aurinkokennova­laisinta pitkään aikaan, esim. talvella, se tulisi
puhdistaa ja säilyttää kuivassa, lämpimässä
tilassa.

Käänny sähköalan ammattilaisen puoleen, jos

valaisin on vaurioitunut, se on korjattava tai
siinä on muita ongelmia. LED-valodiodeja ei voi
vaihtaa uusiin.

RÄJÄHDYSVAARA! Käytä

vain suositellun tyyppisiä akkuja.
Muut akut / paristot voivat räjähtää

ladattaessa.

TULIPALON VAARA! Aurin-

kokennovalaisinta ei saa kytkeä

Akkuja koskevat

turvallisuusohjeet

Vanhoista tai kuluneista akuista voi vuotaa ke-

miallisia aineita, joka vaurioittavat tuotetta.

Tuotteeseen integroitu aurinkokenno muuntaa aurin­gon paistaessa valon sähköenergiaksi ja varastoi
tämän NiMH-akkuun. Valo syttyy päivänvalon
hämärtyessä.
Integroidut valodiodit ovat erittäin pitkäikäinen ja
energiaasäästävä valonlähde.
Valaistuksen kesto on riippuvainen auringonsäteilystä,
valon tulokulmasta aurinkokennoon ja lämpötilasta
(akun kapasiteetin lämpötilan riippuvaisuudesta
johtuen). Parasta olisi valon pystysuora tulokulma
lämpötilan ollessa jäätymispisteen yläpuolella.
Akut saavuttavat suurimman kapasiteettinsa vasta
muutaman latauksen ja purkauksen jälkeen.

Käyttöönotto

Valaisimen sijoittaminen

Koska valaisin tarvitsee aurinkoenergiaa toimiak­seen, ota huomioon seuraavat kohdat ennen
valaisimen sijoittamista:

Valitse sellainen paikka, jossa aurinko paistaa

päiväsaikaan suoraan kennoon

Sijoita valaisin niin, että aurinkokenno 2 ei

ole minkään peitossa tai varjossa (esim. puu tai
katonharja).

Varmista, ettei aurinkokennoon 2 pääse vai-

kuttamaan mikään muu valonlähde kuten esim.

piha- tai katuvalaistus, koska siinä tapauksessa
valo ei syty päivän hämärtyessä. Huomioi, että
useat valonlähteet kytkeytyvät päälle vasta
keskellä yötä ajasta ja liikkeestä riippuen.

Ennen ensimmäistä käyttöä

Aurinkokennovalaisin on varustettu hämäräanturilla
ja virtakytkimellä. Valaisuaika on n. 6–8 tuntia täy­teenladatulla akulla.

Ennen käyttöä aseta virtakytkin 5 asentoon

ON ja valaisin ulos aurinkoon.

Valaisimen toiminnot

Kytkin 5 asennossa ON - päivän hämärty-

essä valaisin kytkeytyy automaattisesti päälle.
Aamun valjetessa valaisin kytkeytyy automaatti­sesti pois päältä.

Kytkin 5 asennossa OFF - aurinkokennovalai-

sin on kytketty pysyvästi pois päältä.

Akun vaihtaminen

Akku on tarkoitettu pitkäaikaiseen käyttöön. Pitkän
käyttöajan kuluessa voi kuitenkin olla tarpeen vaih­taa akku uuteen. Akut kuluvat luonnollisesti ja teho
voi laskea. Jotta teho olisi optimaalinen akut tulisi
vaihtaa 12 kuukauden välein.
Vaihda akku kuvien A-B osoittamalla tavalla.

Aseta alapinnassa oleva kytkin 5 asentoon OFF.
Irrota akkulokeron kaikki neljä ruuvia.
Poista akkulokeron kansi ja tiiviste.
Poista akku 6 ja vaihda se uuteen, saman-

tyyppiseen ladattuun akkuun (katso „Tekniset
tiedot“). Aseta akut sisään oikeinpäin (+/-)
(kuva B). Huomioi myös samalla, ettei johto
joudu puristukseen.

Aseta akkulokeron kansi 4 ja tiiviste jälleen

paikoilleen. Tarkista, että tiiviste on asetettu

kunnolla. Se estää veden pääsyn akkulokeroon.
Kiristä neljä ruuvia jälleen kireälle.
Aseta kytkin 5 asentoon ON.

Vikojen korjaaminen

HUOMAUTUS

Laitteessa on herkkiä elektronisia raken­neosia. Siksi on mahdollista, että välittö­mässä läheisyydessä olevat
radiolähetinlaitteet häiritsevät laitetta.
Tällaisia voivat olla esim. matkapuheli­met, radiopuhelimet, CB-radiolaitteet,
radiokaukosäätimet / muut kaukosääti­met ja mikroaaltolaitteet. Mikäli toteat
häiriöitä toiminnassa, poista tällaiset
häiriölähteet laitteen ympäristöstä.

HUOMAUTUS

Sähköstaattiset purkaukset voivat aiheut­taa toimintahäiriöitä. Poista tällaisten toi­mintohäiriöiden esiintyessä akut hetkeksi
ja aseta ne sitten takaisin paikoilleen.

HUOMAUTUS

Akun teho riippuu säästä enemmän
kesällä kuin talvella.

Huolto / Puhdistus

Valodiodeja ei voi vaihtaa. Aurinkokennovalaisin
on huoltovapaa.

Älä missään tapauksessa käytä syövyttävää

puhdistusainetta.
Puhdista valaisin säännöllisesti kuivalla, nukat-

tomalla liinalla. Käytä puhdistukseen hieman

kostutettua liinaa, jos tuote on erittäin likainen.
Vaihda akut, jos valaisuaika hyvästä auringon-

säteilystä huolimatta vähenee huomattavasti

(katso kappale „Akun vaihtaminen“). Käytä

vain oikeankokoisia ja suositellun tyyppisiä

akkuja (katso kappale „Tekniset tiedot“).

Vialliset ja käytetyt akut on toimitettava kierrätyk­seen akuista ja paristoista annetun direktiivin
2006 / 66 / EY mukaisesti. Hävitä akut ja/tai laite
toimittamalla ne paikalliseen kierrätyspisteeseen.

HUOMAUTUS

Akkuja ei saa hävittää talousjätteenä.
Ne voivat sisältää myrkyllisiä raskasme­talleja, minkä vuoksi ne kuuluvat ongel­majätekäsittelyyn. Raskasmetallien
kemialliset merkit ovat seuraavat:
Cd = kadmium, Hg = elohopea,
Pb = lyijy. Toimita tästä syystä käytetyt
paristot kunnalliseen keräyspisteeseen.

Vuotavat akut

Jos akku on päässyt vuotamaan, yritä poistaa neste
pehmeällä liinalla akkulokerosta.

SYÖPYMISVAARA! Vuota-

vat akut voivat aiheuttaa kemiallisia

palovammoja. Pidä huolta, että ak­kunestettä ei pääse iholle tai silmiin. Jos näin
kuitenkin tapahtuu, yritä poistaa neste välittö­mästi kylmän juoksevan veden alla. Ota yh­teyttä lääkäriin varmuuden vuoksi.

Hävittäminen

Pakkaus on valmistettu ympäristöystävällisistä mate­riaaleista, jotka voidaan viedä paikalliseen kierrä­tyspisteeseen. Lisätietoja käytettyjen tuotteiden
hävittämismahdollisuuksista saat kunnan tai
kaupungin virastoista.

HUOMAUTUS

Älä heitä käytettyä tuotetta kotitalousjät­teisiin. Hävitä tuote ympäristöystävälli­sesti toimittamalla se asianmukaiseen
jätehuoltoon. Lisätietoja kierrätyspisteistä
ja niiden aukioloajoista saat kuntasi
viranomaisilta.

Vaatimustenmukaisuus-

vakuutus

Tämä tuote täyttää voimassa olevien eu­rooppalaisten ja kansallisten direktiivien

vaatimukset. Vastaavat vakuutukset ja
asiakirjat ovat valmistajan hallussa. Tuote vastaa
saksalaisen laite- ja tuoteturvallisuuslain vaatimuk­sia.

Tuotekehittelyn puitteissa säilytämme oikeuden lait­teen teknisiin ja optisiin muutoksiin. Emme vastaa
kirjoitus- tai painovirheistä.

Takuu / Huolto

Laitteen takuu on 3 vuotta ostopäivästä lukien.
Tuotteemme valmistetaan uudenaikaisilla tuotanto­menetelmillä, ja ne käyvät läpi tarkan laadunval­vonnan. Takaamme tuotteidemme moitteettoman
laadun. Takuuaikana korjaamme kaikki materiaali­ja valmistusvirheet maksutta. Jos havaitset tuot­teessa puutteita, lähetä tuote hyvin pakattuna
mainittuun huoltopalveluosoitteeseen.
Takuu ei kata vaurioita, jotka aiheutuvat virheelli­sestä käytöstä eikä kuluvia osia ja materiaaleja.
