Proper Use

This device is intended to be used for detecting metal and live electrical wires. The device is not intended for commercial use.

Safety Instructions

General Safety Instructions

This appliance can be used by children aged from

8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience

and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Do not expose the product to

–extreme temperatures,

–strong vibrations,

–heavy mechanical loads,

–direct sunlight,

–magnetic fields,

–moisture.

These can damage the product.

Do not immerse the product in water under any circumstances. Never hold the product under running water. Otherwise the product may be damaged.

The device contains sensitive electronic components. It is therefore possible that nearby radio transmission devices may cause interference. If false readings occur, remove such equipment from the vicinity of the device. Do not use the device in hospitals or other medical institutions. The device may affect the function of life support systems.

Electromagnetic interference / high-frequency emissions can lead to the appliance failing. In cases of the appliance failing to work remove the battery for a short while and then replace it. Do this as described in the “Inserting / changing the batteries“ section.

Check the product for damage before use. Never use a damaged product.

CAUTION! Never open the housing of the product. This can result in injury and damage to the product. Repairs must be carried out by an electrician only.

Battery Safety Instructions

DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around. There is a risk of children or animals swallowing them. Consult a doctor immediately if a battery is swallowed.

EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never recharge, short-circuit and / or open batteries. This can cause them to overheat, burn or burst.

Never throw batteries into fire or water. The batteries may explode.

Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures that could have an adverse effect on the batteries, e.g. radiators. There is an increased risk of leakage otherwise!

Check regularly that the batteries are not leaking. Leaked or damaged batteries can cause

chemical burns if they come into contact with the skin; in such cases you must wear

suitable protective gloves.

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes if fluid has leaked from the battery. In the event of contact with battery acid, rinse the affected area with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor immediately.

Remove light dirt from the battery and product contacts with a dry, non-fluffing cloth before inserting the batteries.

Remove the batteries from the product if it is not in use for any length of time.

Make sure that the polarity is correct when you insert the batteries. This is indicated in the battery compartment. The batteries can otherwise explode.

Insert the batteries with care. The product can otherwise be damaged.

Please do not dispose of used batteries in your household waste but take them to a designated collection depot for special waste.

Getting started

Inserting / changing the batteries

Note: First remove the protective foil from the device. Open the battery compartment 5 on the back of the appliance.

Remove the used batteries if need be.

Insert two new 1.5 V			batteries (AAA) into the
battery compartment		5		.

Note: Ensure correct polarity. This is indicated in the battery compartment 5 .

Close the battery compartment 5 again.

Using the Multifunction Detector

Tip! Test the device before initial use on a metal pipe or power line whose position you know exactly.

Slide the function switch

to “METAL” in order to

locate metal pipes etc.

Slide the function switch

to “VOLTAGE” in order to

locate power lines etc.

Keep the detector at a distance from metals and from

live cables.

Afterwards, press and hold down the PUSH button

Point the measuring head

directly towards the

desired place on the wall while holding down the

PUSH button.

Move the device slowly over the wall surface.

Note: Ensure direct contact between the measuring

head

and the wall.

Once the device locates metal or power lines, the red

LED

flashes. A beep is also heard. The closer you

move the device to metal or power lines, the faster the

red LED

2

flashes and the more frequently the beep

is heard. If there are power lines or metal in the imme-

diate vicinity, the red LED

2

lights up permanently.

The beep sounds continuously.

Release the PUSH button

in order to stop the

measurement.

Troubleshooting

 =Error

	No beep is heard when metal or power
	lines are in the immediate vicinity.
	The batteries are flat.
	Change the batteries (see ”Inserting / changing the
	batteries”).

Cleaning and Maintenance

Clean the outside of the device only with a soft, slightly moist cloth. Never use liquids or cleaning agents, as they may damage the device.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Pb

Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries!

Batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows:

Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries at a local collection point.

Yleiset turvallisuusohjeet

JLaitetta voivat käyttää 8 vuotta täyttäneet lapset ja henkilöt, jotka ovat fyysisiltä tai psyykkisiltä kyvyiltääntai aisteiltaan rajoittuneita tai joilla ei ole kokemusta tai tietoa laitteen käytöstä, jos he käyttävät laitettavalvonnan alaisina tai heitä on opastettu laitteen turvalli-

sessa käytössä ja he ovat tietoisia laitteeseen liittyvistä vaaroista. Lapset eivät saa leikkiä laitteella. Lapset eivät saa puhdistaa tai huoltaa laitetta ilman valvontaa.

JÄlä altista laitetta

–äärimmäisille lämpötiloille,

–voimakkaalle tärinälle,

–minkäänlaiselle voimakkaalle mekaaniselle rasitukselle,

–suoralle auringonpaisteelle,

–magneettiselle ympäristölle,

–kosteudelle.

Muuten tuote voi vaurioitua.

JÄlä missään tapauksessa upota tuotetta veteen. Älä koskaan pidä tuotetta juoksevan veden alla. Tästä voi olla seurauksena tuotteen vaurioituminen.

JLaitteessa on herkkiä elektronisia rakenneosia. Tästä syystä on mahdollista, että välittömässä läheisyydessä olevat radiolähetinlaitteet häiritsevät sitä. Mikäli näytössä ilmenee häiriöitä, poista tällaiset laitteet tuotteen ympäristöstä.

JÄlä käytä laitetta sairaaloissa äläkä muissa lääkinnällisissä laitoksissa. Laite saattaa häiritä elämää pidentävien järjestelmien toimintaa.

JSähkömagneettiset häiriöt / korkeataajuiset häiriölähetykset voivat aiheuttaa toimintahäiriöitä. Jos tällaisia toimintahäiriöitä ilmenee, poista paristot hetkeksi laitteesta ja aseta ne sen jälkeen uudelleen takaisin paikoilleen. Menettele tässä kappaleen “Pariston paikoilleen asetus / vaihto“ ohjeiden mukaisesti.

JTarkista tuote ennen käyttöönottoa vaurioiden varalta. Älä ota vaurioitunutta tuotetta käyttöön.

mVARO! Älä koskaan avaa laitteen koteloa. Siitä voi olla seurauksena loukkaantumisia ja tuotteen vaurioituminen. Anna korjaukset vain sähköalan ammattihenkilön tehtäväksi.

Paristojen turvaohjeet

HENGENVAARA! Paristoja ei saa antaa lasten käsiin! Älä jätä paristoja minnekään lojumaan. Vaarana on, että lapset tai kotieläimet voivat niellä ne. Jos paristoja on nielty, ota välittömästi yhteys lääkäriin.

JRÄJÄHDYSVAARA! Älä koskaan lataa paristoja uudestaan, älä oikosulje niitä tai avaa avaa niitä. Kuumentuminen, palovaara

ja räjähdys saattavat olla seurauksena. Älä koskaan

heitä paristoja tuleen tai veteen. Paristot voivat räjähtää.

JVältä äärimmäisiä olosuhteita ja lämpötiloja, jotka voivat vaikuttaa paristoihin, esim. lämpöpatterit. Paristojen vuotoriski.

JTarkasta paristojen tiiviys säännöllisesti.

JVuotaneet tai vaurioituneet paristot voivat

joutuessaan kosketuksiin ihon kanssa syövyttää ihoa; käytä siksi tällöin ehdottomasti

sopivia suojakäsineitä!

JVältä kosketusta ihon, silmien ja limakalvojen kanssa, mikäli paristosta on purkautunut nestettä. Huuhtele paristonesteen kanssa kosketuksiin joutuneet kohdat runsaalla vedellä ja ota välittömästi yhteyttä lääkäriin.

JJos paristoissa on hieman likaa, puhdista ne ja tuotteen kosketusnavat kuivalla, nukkaamattomalla liinalla, ennen kuin laitat paristot paikalleen.

JMikäli laite on pitkään käyttämättömänä, poista paristot laitteesta.

JNoudata oikeaa napaisuutta paristojen asennuksessa. Se on merkitty paristolokeroon. Muutoin paristot saattavat räjähtää.

JAseta paristot huolellisesti sisään. Muutoin tuote voi vahingoittua.

JÄlä heitä käytettyjä paristoja kotitalousjätteen sekaan, vaan vie ne paristojen omaan keräyspisteeseen.

QKäyttöönotto

QPariston paikoilleen asetus / vaihto

jOhje: Poista ensin laitteen suojakalvo.

jAvaa paristotila 5 laitteen takapuolella.

jPoista tarvittaessa käytetyt paristot.

jAseta kaksi uutta 1,5 V  vahvuista paristoa (AAA) paristolokeroon 5 .

Huomautus: Tarkista, että paristojen napaisuus on oikea. Se näytetään paristotilassa 5 .

jSulje taas paristotila 5 .

Q Monitoimi-ilmaisimen käyttö

Vihje! Testaa laitetta ennen sen ensimmäistä käyttöä metalliputkeen tai virtajohtoon, jonka paikan tunnet tarkasti.
