Introduction

Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance.

You have clearly decided in favour of a high-quality product. These operating instructions are a part of this product. They contain important information in regard to safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of these operating and safety instructions. Use this appliance only as described and only for the specified areas of application. In addition, pass these operating instructions on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a future date.

Intended use

This appliance is intended only for the non-commercial measuring of moisture in wood and construction materials. The moisture can be measured in, for example, firewood, paper, cardboard, construction timber, mortar, concrete and plaster. In addition, the appliance will display the room temperature in °Celsius or °Fahrenheit. This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those detailed. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. The operator alone bears liability.

Safety

In this chapter you receive important safety information regarding the handling of the appliance. This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can, however, lead to personal injury and property damage.

Basic Safety Instructions

For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:

■Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not take into operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.

■This appliance may be used by children aged 8 over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use of the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance tasks must not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.

■A repair to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out by a customer service department authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise, no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.

■Do not make any unauthorised modifications or alterations to the appliance.

■	Protect the appliance against moisture and liquid penetration.
■	The measuring pins are very sharp. Be careful when working with the appli-					GB
	ance. Always replace the protective cap on the appliance when it is not in
	use. There is also a risk of personal injury!

For safe handling of batteries observe the following safety instructions:

■Do not throw batteries into a fire.

■Never short-circuit batteries.

■Do not attempt to recharge batteries.

■Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking battery acid can cause permanent damage to the appliance. Special caution should be exercised when handling damaged or leaking batteries. Risks from acid burns! Wear protective gloves.

■Store batteries in a place inaccessible to children. If a battery should be swallowed, seek medical attention IMMEDIATLY.

■If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.

► If the contents are not complete, or are damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service).

Inserting / replacing the batteries

♦Unscrew the battery compartment lid on the rear of the appliance.

♦Insert 4 new batteries of type AAA into the battery compartment . Be sure to insert the batteries with the correct polarity.

♦Replace the battery compartment lid on the battery compartment and screw it down firmly.

Handling and operation

In this chapter you will receive important information for the handling and operation of the appliance.

Display indicators

The display is structured as follows:

If this symbol appears, the batteries must be replaced.

The left scale shows wood moisture content from 6-44 %.

The right scale shows construction material moisture content from 0.2 - 2.0 %.

The temperature is indicated at the top of the display in °Celsius or °Fahrenheit.

The measurement result is shown in the middle of the display by measurement lines. In the left scale each measurement line represents 1 %. In the right scale each measurement line represents 0,05 %.

Measurement of constructional material or wood moisture

♦ Switch the appliance on by pressing the ON/SET button.	GB

♦Before taking the first measurement, check that the appliance is functioning

correctly. For this, use the test aid . On the test aid there are four measurement points marked as and .

♦Press the measuring pins on the measurement points . All measurement lines on the display begin to blink.

♦Now press the measuring pins on the measurement points . The measuring lines on the display should now be showing 19 % (+/- 1 %).

♦When you arrive at the given value in both tests, the appliance is ready for use.

♦Press the measuring pins into the material to be tested. The measurement lines on the display show the moisture content.

♦To read the result for firewood, cardboard and construction timber, use the left scale with the symbol .

♦To read the results for mortar, concrete and plaster, use the right scale with the symbol .

♦If the measured value exceeds the maximum values of 2 % resp. 44 %, the measurement lines start to blink.

♦To minimise measurement errors, carry out comparative measurements at several locations.

Temperature Display

♦The temperature is indicated at the top of the display .

♦Press and hold the ON/SET button for 3 seconds to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Light function

♦Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to switch the LED on.

♦Press the button once again to switch the LED o .

Automatic switch-o

The appliance switches itself o automatically after approx. 30 seconds without button activation. The automatic switch o is disabled when the LED is switched on.

Cleaning

IMPORTANT

Possible damage to the appliance.

Permeating moisture can cause damage to the appliance.

►To avoid irreparable damage to it, ensure that no moisture can get inside when you are cleaning the appliance.

■Clean the housing exclusively with a soft damp cloth and a mild dishwashing liquid.

■Clean the measuring pins with a damp cloth and dry them well afterwards.

Maintenance

■Before every use check the appliance for visible external damage.

■Check the measuring pins before every use for damage.

Storage/Disposal

Storage

Always replace the protective cap on the appliance when it is not in use.

If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.

Store the appliance in a dry environment.

Disposal of the appliance

Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EU-WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Pay heed to the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.

Disposing of the batteries

Do not dispose of the batteries with household waste. All consumers are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in their community/city district or at a retail store. This obligation is intended to ensure that batteries are disposed of in an environmentally safe fashion. Only hand in batteries/cells that are fully discharged.

Warranty

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery.

Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our Customer Service Department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.

NOTICE

►The warranty covers only claims for material and manufacturing defects, but not for transport damage, wearing parts or for damage to fragile components, e.g. buttons or batteries.

This product is for domestic use only and is not intended for commercial use. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorised service branch.

Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty period is not extended by repairs made under the warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired parts.

Damages and defects extant at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking, resp. no later than two days after the date of purchase.

Repairs made after the lapse of the warranty period are subject to charge.

Bevezető

Gratulálunk új készüléke megvásárlásához!

Vásárlásával kiváló minőségű termék mellett döntött. A használati utasítás a termék HU része. Fontos tudnivalókat tartalmaz a biztonságra, használatra és ártalmatlanításra vonatkozóan. A termék használata előtt ismerkedjen meg valamennyi használati útmutatóval és biztonsági figyelmeztetéssel. Csak a leírtak szerint és a megadott célokra használja a készüléket. A készülék harmadik személynek történő tovább-

adása esetén adja át a készülékhez tartozó valamennyi leírást is.

Rendeltetésszerű használat

A készülék kizárólag fában és épületekben lévő nedvesség nem kereskedelmi célú mérésére használható. Mérni lehet pl. a tűzifa, papír, karton, épületszerkezeti faanyag, habarcs, beton és vakolat nedvességét. A készülék ° Celsius vagy

° Fahrenheit egységben a helyiség hőmérsékletét is kijelzi. Más vagy ezen túlmenő használat rendeltetésellenesnek minősül. Semmilyen, a nem rendeltetésszerű használatból eredő kárigény nem érvényesíthető. A kockázatot egyedül a felhasználó viseli.

Biztonság

Ebben a fejezetben a készülék kezelésével kapcsolatos fontos biztonsági utasításokat ismerheti meg. A készülék megfelel a biztonsági előírásoknak. A szakszerűtlen használat személyi sérülést és anyagi kárt okozhat.

Alapvető biztonsági figyelmeztetések

A készülék biztonságos használata érdekében tartsa be az alábbi biztonsági utasításokat:

■Használat előtt ellenőrizze a készüléket, hogy nincs-e rajta látható sérülés. Ne működtessen hibás vagy leesett készüléket.

■A készüléket 8 éves kor feletti gyermekek és csökkent fizikai, érzékszervi vagy mentális képességű vagy tapasztalattal illetve tudással nem rendelkező személyek felügyelet mellett használhatják, vagy ha felvilágosították őket a készülék biztonságos használatáról és az ebből eredő veszélyeket megértik. Gyermekeknek nem szabad a készülékkel játszani. Tisztítást és a felhasználó által végzendő karbantartást felügyelet nélküli gyermekek nem végezhetnek.

■A készüléket a garanciaidő alatt csak a gyártó által engedélyezett ügyfélszolgálat javíthatja, ellenkező esetben későbbi károk esetén már nem érvényesíthető a garanciaigény.

■Ne szerelje át és ne változtassa meg önkényesen a készüléket.

■Védje a készüléket a nedvességtől és ne engedje, hogy folyadék jusson bele.

■A mérőcsúcs nagyon hegyes. Legyen óvatos a készülékkel végzett munka során. A használaton kívüli készülékre helyezzen fel védőkupakot. Balesetveszély!

Az elemek biztonságos kezelése érdekében tartsa be az alábbi biztonsági utasításokat:

■Ne dobja az elemet a tűzbe.

■Ne zárja rövidre az elemet.

■Ne próbálja meg újra feltölteni az elemeket.

■Rendszeresen ellenőrizze az elemeket. A kifolyó elemsav tartós kárt okozhat a készülékben. Ha az elem sérült vagy kifolyt, különösen óvatosan kezelje. Vigyázat, maró hatású! Viseljen védőkesztyűt!

■Az elemeket gyermekektől elzárva tartsa. Ha valaki lenyelte volna az elemeket, azonnal forduljon orvoshoz.

■Ha hosszabb ideig nem használja a készüléket, vegye ki belőle az elemeket.

TUDNIVALÓ

► Ellenőrizze a csomag tartalmát, hogy hiánytalan-e és nincs-e rajta látható sérülés.

	HU	► Hiányos szállítás vagy a nem megfelelő csomagolásból eredő, illetve a
		szállítás során keletkezett károk esetén forduljon az ügyfélszolgálathoz
		(lásd a Szerviz fejezetet).

Az elemek behelyezése / cseréje

♦Csavarozza ki a készülék hátoldalán található elemrekeszt .

♦Helyezzen be 4 db új AAA típusú elemet az elemrekeszbe .

Ügyeljen arra, hogy az elemeket polaritásuknak megfelelően helyezze be.

♦Helyezze vissza az elemrekeszre az elemrekesz-fedelet és csavarozza be.

Kezelés és üzemeltetés

Ebben a fejezetben a készülék kezelésére és üzemeltetésére vonatkozó fontos tanácsokat ismerheti meg.

Kijelzések

A kijelző felépítése:

A szimbólum megjelenése esetén elemet kell cserélni.

A baloldali skála a fa nedvességtartalmát mutatja 6 - 44 % között.

A jobboldali skála az építmény ned- vesség-tartalmát mutatja 0,2 - 2,0 % között.

A hőmérséklet a kijelző felső részén ° Celsius vagy ° Fahrenheit egységben olvasható le.

A mérési eredményt a kijelző középrészén lévő mérési rovátkák mutatják. A baloldali skálán minden egyes mérési rovátka 1 %-ot jelent. A jobboldali skálán minden egyes mérési rovátka 0,05 %-ot jelent.

♦Az első mérés előtt ellenőrizze a készülék kifogástalan működését. Használja

♦Most nyomja a mérőcsúcsokat a mérési pontokra . A kijelző mérési rovátkáinak 19 % (+/- 1 %) értéket kell mutatnia.

♦Amennyiben a két tesztnél eléri a megadott értékeket, akkor a készülék üzemkész.

♦Nyomja a mérőcsúcsokat a vizsgálni kívánt anyagba. A kijelző mérési rovátkái mutatják a nedvességtartalmat.

♦A tűzifára, kartonra és épületszerkezeti faanyagra vonatkozó eredményeket a szimbólummal jelzett baloldali skálán olvashatja le.

♦A habarcsra, betonra és vakolatra vonatkozó eredményeket a szimbólummal jelzett jobboldali skálán olvashatja le.

♦Ha a mért érték túllépi a 2 %, ill. 44 % megengedett legnagyobb értéket, akkor a mérőrovátkák villogni kezdenek.

♦A mérési hibák minimalizálása érdekében több ponton összehasonlító méréseket kell végezni.

Hőmérséklet-kijelzés

♦A hőmérséklet a kijelző felső részén jelenik meg.

♦Celsius és Fahrenheit egység közötti átkapcsoláshoz nyomja meg az ON/SET gombot 3 másodpercig.

Világító funkció

♦A gomb 3 másodperces lenyomása bekapcsolja a LED-et

♦A gomb ismételt lenyomása kikapcsolja a LED-et .

Automatikus kikapcsolás

Gombnyomás hiányában a készülék 30 perc múlva önmagától kikapcsol. Az automatikus kikapcsolás egészen addig nem működik, amíg működik a LED .
