Problem

Service has been made aware of an issue that impacts compatibility of V180, V220, C380, and C650 phones with the LCA self install hands free car kits listed above. The current shipping SW for the affected phone models listed above does not properly filter audio echo introduced when using the car kit. The symptoms of the issue are very high echo and distortion observed by the called party when the phone is used with the hands-free car kit.

V180, V220, C380, and C650 phones affected by this issue contain SW versions R364_G_0B.D1.17R through R364_G_0B.D1.1DR.

Solution

The issue has been corrected with a SW change to the phones and is contained in software releases R364_G_0B.D1.1ER and later.

Field Service Action

Customer Returns:

When servicing customer returns for the affected products listed above, with customer complaints of “Poor Audio while using Car Kit”, then:

1.Confirm the customer complaint is related to this issue then, per the normal Service Procedure, re-flash the unit with the latest approved software for your region equal or later than R364_G_0B.D1.1ER

a.If the customer complaint is determined not to be related to this issue, then follow normal troubleshooting techniques per the customer complaint.
