for the
D344-RT Remote Test Kit
1.0Overview
Use the D344-RT Remote Test Kit with the D340 Series Duct (D340, D341, D342, and D343) Smoke Detector Housings.
The D344-RT includes:
•Test coil with wiring harness (1)
•Mounting screws (4 for the D307 Remote Test Indicator Plate, 1 for the test coil)
•D307 Remote Test Indicator Plate (1). This plate contains LED indicators to determine the detector’s status and condition. The D307 also has a keyswitch to remotely test and reset the detector, and an indicator to read and test the sensitivity voltage. Refer to Figure 1.

2.0Installation
1.Ensure the D340 Series Housing you are using is installed according to the appropriate installation instructions:
•D340 Installation Instructions (P/N: 48188)
•D341/D342 Installation Instructions (P/N: 48196)
•D343 Installation Instructions (P/N: 48199)
2.Ensure the detector is in proper working order.
3.Insert the test coil under the smoke detector base, rotating the coil into position as shown in Figure 2 on page 2.
4.Using one of the mounting screws, attach the test coil to the smoke detector base (refer to Figure 3 on page 2).
5.Install the smoke detector head.
6.Connect the wiring harness.
a.Attach the connector with three wires to the smaller connector from the D340 Series Power Card (refer to Figure 4 on page 2).
b.Attach the connector with one wire to the connector located on the side of the detector head.
7.Connect the D307 according to the D307 Installation Instructions (P/N: 32071).
