Installation Instructions

Before updating, please read the important information below.

Manual upgrade using Internet Services

This section provides instructions to upgrade machine software over the network via Xerox CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS).

The Software Upgrade file (Firmware file) is obtained from the Xerox web site: http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-3335-3345/support.

-In “Enter product name or number” enter 3335 or 3345,

-Select WorkCentre 3335/3345,

-Select “Drivers and Downloads”,

-In the ”Refine Results” box on the left,

-Select Firmware.

-Select the appropriate Firmware for your model

-Select Accept for the EULA.

-Save the file to you PC.

Extract the contents of the ZIP file to the PC

IMPORTANT: Print a new Configuration Report immediately before upgrading firmware. For instructions, see the System Administrator Guide or the Xerox OSA knowledge base at http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-3335-3345/support.

Ensure that the machine is online before continuing. TCP/IP and HTTP protocols must be enabled on the machine so that the machine web browser can be accessed. Obtain the IP address of the machine you want to upgrade from the Configuration Report.

Upgrade Steps:

1.Open a web browser from your Workstation.

2.Enter the IP Address of the machine in the Address bar and select [Enter].

3.Verify that Firmware Upgrade is enabled:

a)Click on the [Properties] tab.

b)Click on [Maintenance] on the left

c)Click on [Upgrade Management] on the left

d)If prompted to login, enter the Admin ID and Password.

e)Check the Enable checkbox for Upgrades and Cloning and click Apply

4.Click on [Firmware Upgrade] on the left

5.Click on the [Choose File] or [Browse] button

6.Locate and select the software upgrade file obtained earlier. The firmware file will have an extension of .hd.

7.Click [Install Firmware].

8.Click [OK] to start the install process.

Note: Software Installation will begin several minutes after the software file has been submitted to the machine. Once Installation has begun all Internet Services from this machine will be lost, including the Web User Interface.

Once the download is complete, print a Configuration Report to verify the firmware version. <end>
