CHARACTERISTICS AND REQUESTS
ABOUT YOUR GAS HEAT PUMP AIR CONDITIONER
The gas heat pump air conditioner (GHP) uses gas as the fuel to drive the compressor.
As it uses gas engine, there are various characteristics.
• As the unit does not easily frost, defrosting operations are infrequent even on very cold days, allowing the unit to
provide stable and continuous heating.
• As the electric power consumption is about 1 kW, this leads to be less received power equipment.
However, as with a car engine, periodical inspections by a specialist are for efcient use needed for a comfortable
operation. Make sure you have these periodical inspections.
ENSURE YOU SIGN UP FOR A REGULAR CHECK UP CONTRACT
In order to have a comfortable operation of GHP for a long period, periodical inspections are necessary.
Conduct yearly inspections supported by a specialist.
What will happen if you do not have periodical inspections.
1. The engine oil will deteriorate, causing a malfunction.
2. The air cleaner element will be clog up, causing carbon monoxide and occasional reduction of performance.
REQUESTS
Once signed up for a periodical inspection, a specialist will call on depending on the length of time the unit has been
in use. After a xed period of in use hours, the remote controller will display “Oil Inspection”.
At this time we would appreciate you contacting your dealer or service center for a check up.
For details refer to page 4.
CHANGING ENGINE OIL
Periodically change engine oil and oil lter.
If you forget to change engine oil or use a non-specied oil, it may have a bad effect on the engine
and be the cause of trouble.

CAUTION
• Filling in too much oil will have a bad effect on the engine.
• Consult with your service center or dealer when changing the oil.

PERIODICAL INSPECTION
In order to have a comfortable operation of GHP for a long period, periodical inspections are necessary. When you
purchase your GHP, sign up for Panasonic’s periodical inspections contract system.
When you sign up for a periodical inspection, specialist will call on you.
For more details about the inspection contract, ask your dealer or consult with one of our service centers.

PERIODICAL INSPECTION
GUARANTEE PERIOD
The guarantee period is ONE year after the date of a successful test operation and the product delivery.
However, the engine itself and periodical replaced parts are guaranteed for ONE year after a successful test
operation and the product delivery or 2000 hours in operation whichever comes earlier.
PERIODICAL INSPECTIONS AFTER YOUR GUARANTEE EXPIRES
The number of inspections depends on the operating hours for a period of one year.
The table below shows a case of 2000 hours of use in one year. If you have signed up for a periodical inspection,
a GHP specialist will call on you and carry out the services mentioned below, exchange parts and make necessary
adjustment.

tank, located at the upper portion.

If replacement parts other than those listed above should be required an additional fee other than the periodical
inspection contract fee will be charged.
Note: Should dust or dirt collect on the n of heat exchanger of either the indoor unit or outdoor unit this will result in
loss of efciency.
After consulting with your dealer or service center remove the dirt and dust and wash the heat exchanger.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Before operating the unit, be sure to read the SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.
Listed below are two types of precautions, one is a WARNING and the other is a CAUTION.
Be sure to obey these instructions for safety sake.

PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE

Do NOT install the equipment yourself.
Ask your dealer or a specialist

Conrm the kind of gas you use.
If you use the wrong kind of
gas, it might lead to incomplete
combustion and be the cause of
gas poisoning. Conrm the gas
kind.

Conrm that the exhaust drain from the
outdoor unit and the drain water from the
indoor unit is not commonly connected.
If these are the common pipes,
then exhaust gas could leak into
the room and be the cause of
poisoning. Conrm the drains
are separate.
In the rare possibility of a leak of
refrigerant.
If the equipment is installed in a
small room, steps must be taken
to ensure the rare possibility that
leakage of the refrigerant does
not exceed a certain limit.
Before installation, consult with
your dealer about this certain
limit. In an emergency when
the refrigerant leaks, it may
cause an accident due to lack of
oxygen in the air.
Conrm that each unit has an exclusive
electric circuit.
If you use other electrical
equipment(s) on the same
circuit, then you may blow a fuse
or cause secondary damage to
equipment. Conrm the electric
circuit.
Be sure to buy Panasonic specied
equipment.
If you buy separate equipment
such as an air cleaner or a
humidier (in case of tting inside
the unit), be sure to buy only
Panasonic specied products. And
ask a specialist dealer to install it.
If you improperly install the
equipment by yourself, it may
lead to an electric shock, re or
water leakage and so forth. Buy
Panasonic specied equipment.
Check with a dealer or professional service provider that the specied
refrigerant is used.
Using a refrigerant other than specied may result in equipment failure, burst
or injury.

CAUTION
Be sure to install the outdoor unit where
there is no volatile or inammable
material.
Ascertain there is no
occurrence, inux or collection
of inammable or volatile gases
in the area surrounding the
place you install your outdoor
unit. If you do not do this, it may
cause a re.
Do not use this appliance
in a potentially explosive
atmosphere.
Check you have an earth leakage circuit
breaker in place.
An earth leakage circuit breaker
is required by law. Failure to
install one may result in electric
shock or re.
Check the condition of grounding work.
Do not connect the ground wire
to any gas pipes, water pipes,
lightening rods or telephone
ground wires. If the ground
wire is faulty, it may result in an
electrical shock.

Do not put your hand or foreign objects
in the outlet or inlet of both indoor and
outdoor units.
A high speed fan is rotating
inside and could cause injury.
Be sure to install the drain pipe of indoor
unit with same gradient to drain out
properly.
A water leakage could cause
damage to your furniture and
other property.

Do not operate the equipment with wet
hands.
It could cause an electric shock
or damage the equipment.
Do not block the intake, discharge or the
drain of the outdoor unit.
It may lead to incomplete
combustion and cause a re or
gas poisoning.

Do not expose yourself directly to the
warm or cold air for a long period of time.
It could damage your health.
What to do if the refrigerant leaks.
If the refrigerant leaks, then
turn off the air conditioner and
ventilate the room. Then notify
your dealer or service center.
If the leak exceeds a certain
limit, it could cause a lack of
oxygen in the air.
What to do if the outdoor unit leaks fuel gas.
If the outdoor unit leaks fuel gas,
then turn off the air conditioner,
close the main gas valve and
contact your local gas company
or service company or dealer for
repairs. It could cause a re.
If you detect a strange smell (a burning
smell, a gas smell), or a abnormal sound
or unusual vibrations, then turn off your
air conditioner and the electric supply.
If you continue to use the
equipment under abnormal
circumstances, it could lead to
an electric shock, re or cause a
machine breakdown.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Pull off the power plug from a receptacle, or switch off the breaker, or
switch off the power disconnecting mean to isolate the air conditioner
from the main power supply in case of emergency.

experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
• All about special use.
CAUTION
This air conditioner is for use in dwellings space only.
Do not use for any other purposes.
Do not use the equipment where there are things
which require special preservation such as food
stuffs, animals, precision instruments and works of
art.
• In case of a power failure.
If a power failure occurs during operation, the unit will
stop and remain stopped.
To restart the operation after power is supplied, follow
the start operations again.
• In case of a malfunction
If, during operation, a malfunction should occur due
to lightning, radio waves, power source noise etc.,
then turn off the power source switch.
To re-start the operation, turn on the power switch
and follow the start operations again.
• A gas engine is built in and a periodical check up is
necessary. (Changing the engine oil, etc.)

About the ‘Oil Check’ display on the remote controller
The oil check mark blinks to remote control when the
operating hour of the gas engine becomes prescribed
time. (Right picture) Contact sales companies or the
service agency and do the periodic inspection when
‘Oil check mark’ is displayed.
It causes the breakdown of outdoor unit if it leaves it
as it is.

À PROPOS DE VOTRE CLIMATISEUR À POMPE DE CHALEUR À GAZ
Le climatiseur à pompe de chaleur à gaz (GHP) utilise du gaz comme carburant pour alimenter le compresseur.
Puisqu’il utilise un moteur à gaz, il présente plusieurs caractéristiques.
• Comme l’unité ne gèle pas facilement, le dégivrage n’est pas fréquent même les jours très froids, permettant ainsi
à l’unité de fournir une chaleur stable et continue.
• Puisque sa consommation électrique est d’environ 1 kW, cela en fait l’équipement le moins alimenté en électricité.
Cependant, comme pour un moteur de voiture, des inspections périodiques effectuées par un spécialiste sont pour
des raisons d’efcacité nécessaires pour un fonctionnement satisfaisant. Veuillez vous assurer d’effectuer ces
inspections périodiques.
VEUILLEZ VOUS ASSURER D’AVOIR SIGNÉ UN CONTRAT DE
MAINTENANCE RÉGULIÈRE

CHANGEMENT DE L’HUILE MOTEUR
Changez périodiquement l’huile moteur et le ltre à huile.
Si vous oubliez de changer l’huile moteur ou si vous utilisez de l’huile non conforme, cela peut avoir
un effet néfaste sur le moteur et provoquer des troubles.

INSPECTION PÉRIODIQUE
DURÉE DE LA GARANTIE
La période de garantie est d’UNE année après la date des opérations de test réussies et de la livraison du produit.
Cependant, le moteur lui-même et les pièces remplacées périodiquement sont garantis UNE année après des
opérations de test réussies et de la livraison du produit ou après 2 000 heures de fonctionnement, quelle que soit la
condition qui se produit la première.
INSPECTIONS PÉRIODIQUES APRÈS EXPIRATION DE LA GARANTIE
Le nombre d’inspections dépend des heures de fonctionnement pendant une durée d’une année.
Le tableau ci-dessous montre le cas d’un fonctionnement de 2 000 heures annuels. Si vous avez signé un contrat
d’inspections périodiques, un spécialiste GHP se rendra sur site et effectuera les opérations mentionnées plus haut,
remplacera les pièces défectueuses et réalisera les réglages nécessaires.

Remarque: le changement d’huile moteur ne concerne que le moteur lui-même et le sous-
plateau à huile. Remettre à niveau l’huile dans le réservoir d’huile, situé sur la
partie supérieure.

Remarque: Le remplacement des pièces est calculé sur la base de 2 000 heures annuelles sur une période de 10
ans.
S’il s’avère nécessaire de remplacer des pièces autres que celles mentionnées ci-dessus, des frais
supplémentaires autre que ceux de l’inspection périodique seront facturés.
Remarque: Si de la poussière ou de la saleté s’accumule sur les ailettes de l’échangeur de chaleur des unités
d’intérieur ou d’extérieur, cela entraînera une perte d’efcacité.
Après avoir consulté votre distributeur ou le service après-vente, veuillez enlever la poussière et laver
l’échangeur de chaleur.
• Le réglage de la vanne d’évacuation du moteur est effectué toutes les 10 000 heures ou tous
les cinq ans.

Deux types d’alertes sont listées ci-dessous, l’une est un AVERTISSEMENT et l’autre est un ATTENTION.
Assurez-vous de respecter ces consignes pour des raisons de sécurité.

CONSIGNES AVANT UTILISATION
AVERTISSEMENT
N’installez PAS vous-même l’équipement.
Veuillez demander à votre distributeur ou
à un spécialiste d’installer l’équipement.
Si vous l’installez mal vous-même, cela
pourrait provoquer une décharge électrique,
un incendie ou une fuite d’eau, etc.
Vériez que le tube d’échappement de
l’unité d’extérieur et le tube d’eau de l’unité
d’intérieur ne sont pas connectés ensemble.
Si ces tubes font partie du même circuit,
les gaz d’échappement pourrait fuir dans
la pièce et provoquer un empoisonnement.
Vériez que les tubes sont séparés.
Vériez le type de gaz que vous utilisez.
Si vous utilisez le mauvais type de
gaz, cela pourrait entraîner une
combustion incomplète et provoquer un
empoisonnement par le gaz. Vériez le
type de gaz.
Vériez que chaque unité possède un
circuit électrique exclusif.
Si vous utilisez d’autre(s) équipement(s)
électrique(s) sur le même circuit, vous
pouvez griller un fusible et provoquer des
dommages secondaires à l’équipement.
Vériez le circuit électrique.

Dans les rares cas de fuite de réfrigérant.
Si l’équipement est installé dans une petite
pièce, des mesures doivent être prises
pour garantir que dans les rares cas d’une
fuite de réfrigérant, une certaine limite ne
sera pas dépassée.
Avant l’installation, consultez votre
distributeur sur cette certaine limite. Dans
un cas d’urgence où le réfrigérant fuirait,
cela peut provoquer un accident par
manque d’oxygène dans l’air.
Vériez auprès d’un revendeur ou d’un technicien de service
professionnel que le réfrigérant spécié est utilisé.
L’utilisation d’un réfrigérant autre que celui spécié peut entraîner une défaillance de l’équipement, des
brûlures ou des blessures.
Assurez-vous d’acheter un équipement
certié Panasonic.
Si vous achetez un équipement séparé comme
un nettoyeur d’air ou un humidicateur (dans
les cas d’installation à l’intérieur de l’unité),
veuillez vous assurer d’acheter uniquement
des produits certiés Panasonic. Et demander
à un distributeur professionnel de l’installer.
Si vous l’installez mal vous-même, cela
pourrait provoquer une décharge électrique,
un incendie ou une fuite d’eau, etc. Veuillez
acheter un équipement certié Panasonic.

Ne raccordez pas le l de mise à
la terre à des tuyaux à gaz, des
