Before using the coffeemaker for the first time

First run water through the coffeemaker without coffee. Fill water tank with 6-7 cups of water. Select the 5-8 cup setting and turn on the coffeemaker.

If the coffeemaker smells •new", run 2 cups of vinegar diluted with 5 cups of water through the

coffeemaker, then follow this up twice with 7 cu of clean water.

Important information concerning the use of this coffeemaker

Do not fill the tank with less than 3 cups, otherwi the coffee will not reach the required temperature o strength.

Do not fill the tank with more than 8 cups (max. otherwise the thermal carafe will overflow.

To remove or re0attach the lid on the water tank, swivel it open so that it is pointing straight up.

Fill the tank with cold water only. Any other liquid damage the coffeemaker.

Do not remove the carafe for longer than 20 secon when pouring one or two cups before the coffee h finished brewing.

Do not use a different type of thermal carafe with coffeemaker, otherwise the •drip lock" will prevent th coffee from passing out through the bottom of the filter which will then overflow. Make sure the carafe has been properly inserted into the coffee0 maker before turning it on.

Do not stir the inside of the thermal carafe with a sharp0edged object or put your hand inside.

How to use the coffeemaker

1. Lift off the water tank.

2. Pull out the thermal carafe.

3.Pull the required length of cord out of the stora compartment.

7. Put a no. 4 paper filter into the holder or use t permanent stainless steel filter provided and add the required amount of medium to finely ground coffee (measuring spoon is included).

Tip: If the carafe is rinsed out with hot water before the coffee is brewed, the coffee will remain warm fo a longer period.

.Press the ON button for the desired number of cups (2-4 or 5-8).

The corresponding indicator light comes on.

When all the water has passed through, the coffeemaker switches off automatically and the indicator light goes out. The coffeemaker can be switched off prematurely by pressing the OFF butto

Ground coffee should be stored in a cool place so that it stays fresh for a longer period. It can be ke in a refrigerator for approx. 4 days or in a freezer f approx. 3 weeks without losing its aroma or flavor. Coffee beans will keep for up to 2 years in their

original

packaging.

 

 

 

Once a

package of coffee has been

opened,

it

kept

as tightly sealed as possible

in order

to

re

the

aroma.

 

 

 

The degree to which coffee beans have been roast affects the flavor and aroma:

dark*roasted = more aroma, stronger flavor light*roasted = sharper, acidic

How to clean your coffeemaker

WARNING

Unplug the coffeemaker before cleaning.

. Remove coffee grounds or tea leaves as soon a possible otherwise they will stain the permanent filter

CAUTION

The lid on the water tank and the filter are dishwasher0proof but they should not be placed directly over the heating element.
