Instructions for Use
Description
Glycerine gel impermeable to oxygen, as an aid for the tryin of composite and ceramic restorations (try-in paste) and for the processing of composites.
Composition
Glycerine gel
Indication
1.Try-in paste: Try-in for composite and ceramic restorations
The glycerine gel can be used to fill the cement gap during the try-in and thus simulate the influence of the bonding composite on shading. This permits realistic evaluation of the restoration’s shading. For an even more accurate simulation of the Variolink®II luting composite system, shaded glycerine pastes (Variolink II Try-In pastes) are also available.
2.Prevention of oxygen inhibition during polymerization
Composites are subject to oxygen inhibition, i.e. the surface layer of the composite that is not covered with a matrix and comes in contact with oxygen during polymerization is not polymerized (approx. 50 µm). If this layer is covered with Liquid Strip and thus protected from oxygen, the composite is thoroughly polymerized.
Contraindication
None known to date
Side Effects
None known to date
Application
1.Try-in of composite and ceramic restorations
– Application of Liquid Strip on cavity or restoration
– Try-in, evaluation of shade and fit
– Removal of the restoration from the cavity
– Rinsing off Liquid Strip with water and drying with blower
– Cleansing the restoration with 37 % phosphoric acid (e.g. Total Etch)
– Thoroughly rinsing off phosphoric acid and drying with blower
– Further procedure according to information of the luting composite manufacturer
2.Prevention of oxygen inhibiton with composites
a) Inlay/Onlay luting
–Placement of ceramic or composite restoration with a luting composite (e.g. Variolink II)
–Removal of excess composite
–Application of Liquid Strip on restoration margins
–Light-curing of the luting composite through Liquid Strip
–Rinsing off Liquid Strip with water
–Finishing/polishing of the restoration
b) Freely built-up composite restorations
–Build-up of restoration
–Covering restoration surface with Liquid Strip
–Light-curing of the composite through Liquid Strip
–Rinsing off Liquid Strip with water
–Finishing/polishing of the restoration
Note
With self-curing composites, glycerine gel has to be left on restoration until end of setting time.
Important
If a low-viscosity luting composite is used, Liquid Strip has to be applied carefully, to avoid mixing with, or extruding of, the composite.
Storage
–Do not use Liquid Strip after expiration date
–Storage conditions: room temperature (2–28 °C / 54–82 °F)
–Shelf life: see expiration date

Liquid Strip
Gebrauchsinformation
Beschreibung

Liquid Strip
Mode d’emploi
Description

Composizione
Gel di glicerina
Indicazioni
Controindicazioni
Non riscontrate.
Effetti collaterali
Non riscontrati.
