WARNING To reduce the risk of serious personal injury:

Keep batteries away from children. Batteries may be harmful if swallowed. Should a child or pet swallow a battery, seek medical assistance immediately. Only adults should handle batteries.

Swallowing batteries and/or battery fluid can be extremely dangerous. Keep the battery and scale out of the reach of children and disabled persons. Should any person swallow a battery and/or battery
• fluid, please call 911 immediately.
• Should battery fluid leak and come into contact with your eyes or skin, immediately rinse with plenty
of clean water. Please call 911 immediately.
• Batteries should not be charged or reactivated by any other means.
• Batteries should not be taken apart, thrown in the fire or short circuited.

Keep scale away from moisture, dust, chemicals, toiletries, liquid cosmetics, extreme hot and cold temperatures, and sources of heat (e.g., open flame, radiators).

Consult your physician or healthcare provider before beginning a weight reduction or exercise program.
• Do not step on the edge of the scale; otherwise it may tip.
• Do not jump on the scale.
• Strong electromagnetic fields (e.g. cell phones) may impair the accuracy of the scale.
• The scale is not intended to be used for commercial purposes.
• Repairs may only be performed by an authorized service center. Contact Customer Service with any
questions regarding operation, usage, or repair of this product.
•
Packaging materials are a deadly hazard for children and can cause suffocation. Remove all packaging materials immediately and keep them away from children at all times.
• Do not drop the scale or drop any objects on it.
• Do not use the unit on slippery surfaces such as wet floors. There is a danger of slipping.
• Do not step on the scale if you weigh more than 400 lb (181.4 kg/28.57 st).
• Do not use this product for any purpose other than weighing human beings.
• Place the scale on level flooring, otherwise it may tip.

3. Interesting facts
3.1 Weighing correctly
•Place the scale on a hard, plane level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is required for correct
measurement.
•If possible, always weigh yourself at the same time of day (preferably in the morning) striving for comparable
conditions, on an empty stomach and unclothed, in order to achieve comparable results.
•Stand still and upright during measurement.
3.2 General notes
•The capacity of the scale is 400 lb (181.4 kg/28.57 st).
• The results are shown in 0.2 lb increments (100 g / 0.02 st).
•
On delivery the scale is set to the unit “lb”. A switch located on the back of the scale enables you to change to “kg” or “st”.
Measuring units

4. Batteries
BATTERY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.

3. If the batteries in the device are depleted or the device will not be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
4. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture (follow bat­tery manufacturer’s directions.)
5. Do not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak.
6. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
7. Remove discharged batteries from the product and dispose/recycle in compliance with all applicable laws.
If present, remove the battery insulating strip or remove the battery’s protective film and insert the battery according to the polarity. If the scale fails to operate, remove the battery completely and reinsert it. Replace the battery cover carefully.
A new battery will last for approximately 2 years if the scale is used three times per day. The trial battery supplied with the unit may have a shorter life. Remove battery if you do not intend to use the scale for longer periods before placing the device in storage.
Your scale is equipped with a “replace battery” indicator. When the battery is weak, “Lo” appears in the display field and the scale automatically switches off. The battery must be replaced (1 x 3 V lithium battery CR2032).
5. Operation
This scale is used to determine the weight of human beings and has a maximum weight of 400 lb (181.4 kg/28.57 st). Place the scale on a hard, plane level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is required for correct measure­ment.
Note: For first use and relocation
In order to ensure accurate results it is recommended to reset the scale to “0”.
•Step on to the scale for one second and then step off.
•The scale shows “0.0 lb” (kg/st).
•It will shut off automatically after several seconds.

6. Cleaning, maintenance and disposal
NOTICE:
•Protect the scale against hard knocks, moisture, dust, chemicals, major temperature fluctuations and
heat sources which are too close (e.g. stoves, heating radiators). This may damage the unit.
•Do not use any aggressive solvents, cleaning agents, detergents or any other strong chemicals to
clean the device.
•Never immerse and or spill water or any other liquid onto the scale, otherwise liquid will enter the
scale and cause damage.
•Observe the local regulations for material disposal. Dispose of the device in accordance with local
regulations.
•Never attempt to repair the instrument or adjust it yourself. This may damage the unit and impair
the functions. If you need to have the unit repaired, please contact our customer service. Please see warranty for service contact. Before submitting any complaint, first check the battery and replace it if necessary.
•Changes or modifications to the device will nullify the user warranty.

Cleaning and maintenance
To keep your scale in the best condition and protect the unit from damage: Clean scale occasionall with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
