WARNING:
Packaging materials are a deadly hazard for children and can cause suffocation. Remove all packaging materials immediately and keep them away from children at all times.
Do not step on the edge of the scale (e.g. when getting on or off), otherwise it may tip.
Do not jump on the scale.
Protect the scale against hard knocks, temperature fluctuations and heat sources which are too close (e.g. stoves, heating radiators).
Do not drop the scale or drop any objects on it.
Do not step or stand on the scale when your body and/or feet are wet, for example after taking a bath or shower. There is a danger of slipping.
Do not step on the scale when its surface is wet. There is a danger of slipping.
Do not use the unit on slippery surfaces such as wet floors. There is a danger of slipping.

Make sure that you enter the desired unit of mass regarding the weight results.
People with disabilities, such as impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions, or who are physically frail, should be assisted by another person when using this scale.
Do not step on the scale if you weigh more than 330 lb (150 kg / 24 st). When in doubt contact your physician.
Do not use this product for any purpose other than weighing human beings.
Place the scale on level flooring, otherwise it may tip.
If the glass platform is damaged, there could be risk of danger or injuries caused by broken glass.
CAUTION:
This unit is intended for home use only. It is not intended for professional use in hospitals or other medical facilities. This unit does not support the standards required for professional use.
Please note that technically related measuring tolerances are possible, as the scale is not cali­brated for professional medical applications.
Carefully step on the scale surface. Pay attention to avoid stepping with your toes under the scale surface. This might lead to injuries.
Do not disassemble this unit. You could get injured.
Do not put your fingers in any slot, inside or under the scale.
NOTICE:
Do not weigh more than one person on the scale at one time. This may damage the unit.
Do not use mobile phones, microwave ovens or other devices which generate magnetic or large electromagnetic fields near the scale. This could cause the scale to malfunction.
To avoid draining the battery do not place any items on the scale (Please make sure that there is no weight on the feet of the scale) when not in use.

3. Interesting facts
3.1 Weighing correctly
Place the scale on a hard, plane level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is required for correct measurement.
If possible, always weigh yourself at the same time of day (preferably in the morning) striving for comparable conditions such as after using the toilet, on an empty stomach and unclothed, in order to achieve compa­rable results.
Stand still and upright during measurement.
3.2 General notes
• T
he capacity of the scale is 330 lb (150 kg / 24 st).
The results are shown in 0.2 lb increments (0.1 kg / 0.01 st).
On delivery the scale is set to the unit “lb”. A switch located on the back of the scale enables you to change to “kg” or “st”.
Measuring units

4. Battery Handling Safety Precautions
• U
se only the size and type of batteries specified.
• B
e sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries. Reversed batteries may cause dam-
age to the device.
• D
o not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-zinc or rechargeable batteries)
or old batteries with fresh ones. Always replace batteries as a simultaneous set.
• I
f the batteries in the device are depleted or the device will not be used for a long period of time, remove
the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
• D
o not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture (follow bat-
tery manufacturer’s directions.)
• D
o not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak.
• C
lean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
• Remove discharged batteries from the product and dispose/recycle in compliance with all applicable laws.
• K
eep batteries away from children and pets. Batteries may be harmful if swallowed. Should a child or pet
swallow a battery, seek medical assistance immediately.
This product contains 2 CR Type Coin Lithium Batteries which contains Perchlorate Material – special handling may apply: See: www.dtsc.ca.gov/hazardouswaste/perchlorate
If present, remove the battery insulating strip or remove the battery’s protective film and insert the battery according to the polarity. If the scale fails to operate, remove the battery completely and reinsert it. Replace the battery cover carefully.
A new battery will last for approximately 1 year if the unit is used three times per day. The trial battery supplied with the unit may have a shorter life. Remove battery if you do not intend to use the scale for longer periods before placing the device in storage.
Your scale is equipped with a “replace battery” indicator. When the scale is operated with a battery that is too weak, “Lo” appears in the display field and the scale automatically switches off. The battery must be replaced in this case (2 x CR2032 batteries).
5. Operation
Note: For first use and relocation
In order to ensure accurate results it is recommended to reset the scale to “0”.

tep on to the scale for one second and then step off.

he scale shows “0.0 lb” (kg/st).
• I
t will shut off automatically after several seconds.
Usage:
Quickstart: Step on to the scale.

6. Cleaning, maintenance and disposal
NOTICE:
Do not use any aggressive solvents, cleaning agents, detergents or any other strong chemicals to clean the device.
Never immerse and or spill water or any other liquid onto the scale, otherwise liquid will enter the scale and cause damage.
Never attempt to repair the instrument or adjust it yourself. This may damage the unit and impair the functions. If you need to have the unit repaired, please contact our customer service. Please see warranty for service contact. Before submitting any complaint, first check the battery and replace it if necessary.
Changes or modifications to the device will nullify the user warranty.

To keep your scale in the best condition and protect the unit from damage follow the directions below: The scale should occasionally be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. The unit is not waterproof, do not immerse the unit in water and do not spill water over the unit.
If your scale
accidentally gets wet immediately clean off the water.
Store the unit in a safe and dry location. Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight, extreme hot or cold temperatures or humidity. Thoroughly dry any moisture off the unit before storing. Store the unit safely out of the reach of children. Do not subject the unit to strong shocks, such as dropping the unit on the floor. Always use the unit following the instructions provided in this manual.
Disposal
Observe the local regulations for material disposal. Dispose of the device in accordance with local regula­tions. If you have any questions, please contact the local authorities responsible for waste disposal.

9. Troubleshooting

10. Warranty
Limited Lifetime Warranty For Original Purchaser
Your Beurer Scale, Model GS 203, excluding the batteries, is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product under normal conditions of intended use and service. This war­ranty extends only to the original retail purchaser and does not extend to retailers or subsequent owners.
We will, at our option, repair or replace the Beurer Scale, Model GS 203, without additional charge, for any part or parts covered by these written warranties. No refunds will be given. Repair or replacement is our only responsibility and your only remedy under this written warranty. If replacement parts for defective materials are not available, Beurer reserves the right to make product substitutions in lieu of repair or replacement.
For warranty service contact our customer service department at 1-800-536-0366 or at info@beurer.com to provide a description of the problem. If the problem is deemed to be within the scope of the limited lifetime warranty, you will be asked to mail the product at your costs in its original package with proof of purchase, your name, address and phone number. If the problem is not deemed to be within the scope of the limited lifetime warranty, we will provide a quotation for repair respectively replacement and return shipping fee.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of unauthor­ized accessory; alteration to the product; improper installation; misapplication; lack of reasonable care with respect to the product; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/power supply; old worn batteries; normal wear; loss of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an operating part as a result of failure to comply with instructions for use or to provide manufacturer’s recommended mainte­nance; transit damage; theft; neglect; vandalism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the product is at a repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever that are beyond the control of Beurer. This warranty is void if the product is ever used in a commercial or business environment. The maximum liability of Beurer under this warranty is limited to the purchase price actually paid by the customer for the product covered by the warranty, as confirmed by proof of purchase, regardless of the amount of any other direct or indirect damage suffered by the customer.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which the product is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adaptation to enable it to operate in any other country than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under this warranty.
THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS, OR LIABILITES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WAR­RANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURA­TION TO THE DURATION OF THIS APPLICABLE WRITTEN WARRANTY. Some states do not allow
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
IN NO EVENT SHALL BEURER BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSE­QUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR ANY OTHER THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHATSOEVER. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation
of special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Beurer does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, retailers, the subsequent consumer pur-
chaser of the product from a retailer or remote purchaser, to obligate Beurer in any way beyond the terms set forth herein.
This warranty does not extend to the purchase of opened, used, repaired, repackaged and/or resealed prod­ucts, including but not limited to sale of such products on Internet auction sites and/or products by surplus or bulk resellers. Any and all warranties or guarantees shall immediately cease and terminate in connec-
