Introduction
We congratulate you on the purchase of
your new device. You have chosen a high
quality product. These operating instruc­tions form a part of this product. They contain impor­tant information on safety, use and disposal. Make yourself familiar with all the operating instructions and safety advice for the product before use. Use the product only as described and for the indicated purpose. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the docu­mentation with it. Check that the correct mains volt­age is available and that all the parts have been properly assembled before bringing into use.
Proper use
This lamp is designed for use indoors only, in dry and enclosed rooms. This product is intended for use in a private, domestic environment only. Other uses or modification of the product shall be consid­ered as improper use and could lead to injury or
damage. The manufacturer accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from improper use.

leave children unsupervised with the packaging materials. Packaging materials present a suffo­cation hazard. Children often underestimate danger. Always keep the product out of reach of children.

To avoid danger to life from
electric shock
Before connecting the lamp to the mains, always
check it and the mains lead / plug for any dam­age. Never use your lamp if you discover that it is damaged in any way.
CAUTION! A damaged mains
lead presents a serious danger to life from electric shock. The external
flexi-cable cannot be replaced, if the cable is
damaged then the lamp must be disposed of.
Never let the lamp come into contact with
water or other liquids.
Do not install the lamp on damp if conductive
surfaces.
Never open any electrical devices such as
switches, fittings etc. or allow any object to be inserted into them. This sort of interference can lead to a serious danger to life from electric shock.
Touch only the insulated part of the plug when
connecting to or disconnecting from the mains supply.
Before installation ensure that the available
mains voltag e agrees with the operating volt­age required for the lamp (220–240 V ∼).
To avoid danger of fire and injury
DANGER OF BURNS! Ensure the lamp has
been switched off and allowed to cool before you touch it. In this way you will avoid the dan­ger of burns. Light bulbs develop a great deal of heat.
Replace defective bulbs immediately. Before re-
placing the bulb, always remove the mains plug from the mains socket.
Allow the lamp to cool for at least 15 minutes
before replacing a defective bulb.
Do not allow any objects to cover the lamp.
Fire can result from the development of too much heat.
Position the lamp so that it is protected from
moisture and dirt.
Never leave the light unattended whilst in oper-
ation. Excessive heat can result in a fire.
Only use the light bulb indicated. Do not look directly into the light source (light
bulb, LED etc.).
This lamp is not suitable for use as a night light.

Before Initial Use
Remove the threaded ring 6 from the socket 2
by turning it counter-clockwise (Fig. B).
Remove the lamp shade 1 and turn by 180°
(Fig. B).
Pull the lamp shade 1 over the socket 2
(Fig. C).
Tighten the threaded ring 6 onto the socket 2,
turning it clockwise (Fig. C).
Screw the light bulb 7 clockwise into the
socket (Fig. C).
Your light is now ready to use.
Operation
Using the lamp
Unwind the mains cable 4 completely before
use.
Insert the mains plug 5 into the socket.
Turn the light on and off with the ON / OFF

Replacing a bulb
Do not use solvents such as petrol and the like
as they could damage the lamp.
For electrical safety reasons, never clean the
lamp with water or other fluids or immerse it in
water.
Use a dry, fluff-free cloth for cleaning. The lamp is maintenance-free.
Disposal
The packaging consists entirely of envi­ronmentally friendly materials. They can be disposed of at your local recycling facility.
The symbol of the wheelie bin with a cross through It means that, in the
European Union, the product has to be disposed of in a separate refuse collection. This ap­plies to the product and to all components bearing this symbol. Products marked in this way may not be disposed of with normal domestic waste but have to be handed in at a recycling collection point for electrical and electronic appliances. Recycling helps to reduce the consumption of raw materials and to ease the burden on the environment.
CAUTION! DANGER TO LIFE FROM
ELECTRIC SHOCK! Pull the mains plug the socket.
Turn the defective light bulb 7 anti-clockwise
out of the bulb socket.
Use a clean, fluff-free cloth when you are re-
placing a bulb.
Screw the new light bulb 7 clockwise into the
socket (Fig. E).

This product has a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase; the warranty is only valid for the original purchaser and is not transferable. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase. The warranty applies to material or manufacturing defects only. It does not cover wear parts or damage caused by improper use. The guarantee lapses in cases of unauthorized tampering. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. Please contact the service centre by telephone. In the event of any claims under the warranty. This is the only way to ensure that your instrument can be returned free of charge.
