RYOBI® POWER TOOL - LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY AND 30 DAY EXCHANGE POLICY

One World Technologies, Inc., warrants its RYOBI® power tools with the following conditions:

30-DAY EXCHANGE POLICY: During the first 30 days after date of purchase, you may either request service under this warranty or you may exchange any RYOBI® power tool which does not work properly due to defective workmanship or materials by returning the power tool to the dealer from which it was purchased. To receive a replacement power tool or requested warranty service, you must present proof of purchase and return all original equipment packaged with the original product. The replacement power tool will be covered by the limited warranty for the balance of the two year period from the date of the original purchase.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS: This warranty covers all defects in workmanship or materials in your RYOBI® power tool for a period of two years from the date of purchase. With the exception of batteries, power tool accessories are warranted for ninety (90) days. Batteries are warranted for two years.

HOW TO GET SERVICE: Just return the power tool, properly packaged and postage prepaid, to an Authorized Service Center. You can obtain the location of the Service Center nearest you by contacting a service representative at One World Technologies, Inc., P.O. Box 1207, Anderson, SC 29622-1207, by calling 1-800-525-2579 or by logging on to www.ryobitools.com. When you request warranty service, you must also present proof of purchase documentation, which includes the date of purchase (for example, a bill of sale). We will repair any faulty workmanship, and either repair or replace any defective part, at our option. We will do so without any charge to you. We will complete the work in a reasonable time, but, in any case, within ninety (90) days or less.

WHAT’S NOT COVERED: This warranty applies only to the original purchaser at retail and may not be transferred. This warranty only covers defects arising under normal usage and does not cover any malfunction, failure or defects resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification or repairs by other than Authorized Service Centers. One World Technologies, Inc. makes no warranties, representations or promises as to the quality or performance of its power tools other than those specifically stated in this warranty.

ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS: Any implied warranties granted under state law, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to two years from the date of purchase. One World Technologies, Inc. is not responsible for direct, indirect, or incidental damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

WARNING:

To reduce the risk of electric shock DO NOT expose to rain. Store indoors.

Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body and clothing, away from openings and moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in internal moving parts.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enables better control of the hand vac in unexpected situations. Do not use on a ladder or unstable support.

Use safety equipment. Dust mask must be used for appropriate conditions.

Do not allow children to operate hand vac or play with hand vac as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.

Use this hand vac ONLY for its intended use as described in this manual. Use only the attachments recommended in this manual.

If hand vac is not working properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return to your nearest service center.

Do not handle charger plug or hand vac with wet hands.

Do not put any objects in ventilation openings. Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.

NEVER vacuum materials that are burning or smoking, such as hot coals, cigarette butts, matches, burning or smoking ashes, etc.

This unit is for dry vacuuming only. Do not use to clean up liquids.

DO NOT use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.

Do not use without dust bowl or filter in place.

Use extra care when using on stairs.

Do not use to pick up hard objects such as nails, screws, coins, etc. Damage or injury could result.

Do not incinerate this appliance even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.

Hand vac does not have to be plugged into an electrical outlet, therefore it is always in operating condition. Be aware of possible hazards when using the hand vac or when changing accessories.

Remove battery when the vacuum is not in use and before servicing.

Use battery only with charger listed. For use with 18V nickel-cadmium and 18 V lithium-ion battery packs. see tool/appliance/battery pack/charger correlation supplement 987000-432.

Batteries can explode in the presence of a source of ignition, such as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, never use any cordless product in the presence of an open flame. An exploded battery can propel debris and chemicals. If exposed, flush with water immediately.

Protect your lungs. Wear a face or dust mask if the operation is dusty. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.

Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the hand vac’s operation. If damaged, have the hand vac serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained hand vacs.

Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one hand vac may create a risk of injury when used on another hand vac.

Do not let gasoline, oils, petroleum-based products, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. They contain chemicals that can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic.

This product contains no serviceable parts.

Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use them to instruct others who may use this hand vac. If you loan someone this hand vac, loan them these instructions also.

ASSEMBLY

UNPACKING

This product has been shipped completely assembled.

nCarefully remove the product and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included.

nInspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.

nDo not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product.

OPERATION

WARNING:

Do not allow familiarity with the product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.

Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating products. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible serious injury.

WARNING:

Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer of this product. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended can result in serious personal injury.

APPLICATIONS

You may use this product for the following purpose: Light-duty vacuuming of dry surfaces

This product will accept Ryobi One+ 18 V lithium-ion battery packs and Ryobi One+ 18 V nickel-cadmium battery packs.

For complete charging instructions, refer to the Operator’s Manuals for your Ryobi One+ battery pack and charger models.

TO INSTALL/remove BATTERY PACK

See Figure 1, page 7.

WARNING:

Always remove battery pack from your tool when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing battery pack will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury.

Place the battery pack in the hand vac. Align the raised rib on the battery pack with groove in hand vac’s battery port.

Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack snap in place and that the battery pack is secured in the hand vac before beginning operation.

Locate the latches on the side of the battery pack and depress both sides to release the battery pack from the hand vac.

STARTING/STOPPING THE VACUUM

See Figure 2, page 7.

To start the vacuum: slide the switch toward the front of the vacuum.

To stop the vacuum: slide the switch toward the back of the vacuum.

brush/crevice attachment

See Figures 3 - 5, page 7.

The combination brush/crevice attachment is conveniently stored on the underside of the dust bowl.

To detach the brush/crevice attachment, pull it forward and remove it from the dust bowl.

The cover of the brush/crevice attachment slides forward to cover the brush so the attachment can be used as a crevice tool.

Turn off the vacuum.

Remove the battery pack.

Insert the attachment into the front end of the vacuum dust bowl, making sure the attachment is firmly pushed into place.

When purchasing replacement brush/crevice attachment, request recommended part number 019484001011.

MAINTENANCE

This product contains no serviceable parts.

WARNING:

Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during product operation or when blowing dust. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.

WARNING:

To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the product when cleaning or performing any maintenance.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

WARNING:

Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleumbased products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.

BATTERY PACK REMOVAL AND PREPARATION FOR RECYCLING

WARNING:

Upon removal, cover the battery pack’s terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape. Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble battery pack or remove any of its components. Batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly. Also, never touch both terminals with metal objects and/or body parts as short circuit may result. Keep away from children. Failure to comply with these warnings could result in fire and/or serious injury.

cleaning the hand vac

The dust bowl should be checked, emptied, and cleaned periodically for maximum dust collection.

REMOVING THE DUST BOWL

See Figure 6, page 7.

Remove the battery pack from the vacuum.

Depress the release button located on top of the hand vac. Pull the dust bowl down and out as shown to separate it from the motor housing.

REMOVING and cleaning/replacing the filter

See Figure 7, page 7.

Remove the battery pack from the vacuum.

Remove the filter by pressing the tabs inward and lifting the filter out of the screen assembly.

Shakeor lightly brush any dust or dirt off the filter.

Shake or lightly brush any dust off the screen and screen assembly. Wash if necessary.

Empty the dust bowl; wash if necessary. Before reattaching to the hand vac, make sure all pieces are completely dry.

When purchasing replacement filter, request recommended part number 019484001007.

REATTACHING THE DUST BOWL

See Figure 8, page 7.

Position the two sections as shown. Align the slot on the bottom of dust bowl with the tab on the bottom of motor housing, then snap the two sections together.
