LEDs in this product are Class 1 in accordance with IEC825-1. CLASS 1 LED PRODUCT

To avoid electric shock hazard, the instrumen t chassis and cabinet must be connected to a safet y earth ground by the supplied po wer cable with earth blade.

Do not operate the instrumen t in the presence of ammable gasses or fumes. Operation of an y electrical instrumen t in such an environment constitutes a de nite safet y hazard.

Operating personnel m ust not remove instrument covers. Component replacement and internal adjustmen ts must be made by quali ed maintenance personnel. Do not replace componen ts with the power cable connected. Under certain conditions, dangerous v oltages may exist even with the power cable remo ved. To avoid injuries, alwa ys disconnect power and discharge circuits before touc hing them.

Appendix D provides information about the relationship bet ween the test frequency and the correction data.

Appendix E provides the procedure for write protecting all of the stored data in the HP 4284A's memory card and in ternal EEPROM memory.

Certification

Hewlett-Packard Company certi es that this product met

 

its published speci cations at the time of shipmen t from the

 

factory. Hewlett-Packard further certi es that its calibration

 

measurements are traceable to the United States National Institute

 

of Standards and Technology (nist), to the extent allowed by the

 

Institute's calibration facilit y, or to the calibration facilities of other

 

International Standards Organization mem bers.

Warranty

This Hewlett-P ackard instrument product is w arranted against

 

defects in material and w orkmanship for a period of one y ear from

 

the date of shipmen t, except that in the case of certain componen ts

 

listed in \Componen ts not Covered by Warranty" in Chapter 9 of

 

this manual, the warranty shall be for the speci ed period. During

 

the warranty period, Hewlett-P ackard Company will, at its option,

 

either repair or replace products whic h prove to be defective.

 

For warranty service or repair, this product m ust be returned to a

 

service facility designated b y HP. Buyer shall prepay shipping charges

 

to HP and HP shall pa y shipping charges to return the product to

 

Buyer. However, Buyer shall pay all shipping charges, duties, and

 

taxes for products returned to HP from another coun try.

 

HP warrants that its softw are and rmware designated by HP for use

 

with an instrumen t will execute its programming instruction when

 

property installed on that instrumen t. HP does not warrant that

 

the operation of the instrumen t, or software, or rmware will be

 

uninterrupted or error free.

Warranty

The foregoing warranty shall not apply to defects resulting from improper or inadequate main tenance by Buyer, Buyer-supplied software or interfacing, unauthorized modi cation or misuse, operation outside of the en vironmental speci cations for the product, or improper site preparation or main tenance.

No other warranty is expressed or implied. HP speci cally disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability and tness for a p articular purpose.

Exclusive Remedies

The remedies provided herein are buyer's sole and exclusive r emedies.

 

HP shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or

 

consequential damages, whether b ased on contract, tort, or any other

 

legal theory.
