IMPORTANT NOTES

When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed:

Read the instructions carefully.

Before connecting the coffee mater to the mains, check that the voltage corresponds to that indicated on the characteristic's plate. Use an earthed plus.

Place the coffee maker on a flat surface, away from the edge of the counter to avoid it accidentally falling.

The jus is designed for use with this coffee maker. It should not be used on the cooker hot plates nor in a microwave oven. Do not place the hot jus on a damp or cold surface. Do not use the jug if it is cracked or has a loose handle.

Do not permit children to use the apparatus.

Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handles or knobs.

To protect against possible electric shock, never immerse the cord, plug or the unit in water or any other liquid.

Switch off the coffee maker and disconnect it from the mains when not in use and before cleaning it. Leave it to cool down before replacing or removing pieces and before cleaning the apparatus.

To disconnect the coffee maker, move the switch to the position and then unplug the apparatus.

Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or worktop or come into contact with hot surfaces.

Do not operate the apparatus if the cord or plug is damaged, or if it does not operate correctly. Cord repairs and replacements must only be carried out by an Authorised Service Technician.

ATTENTION: In order to reduce the risks of fire or electrical shock, do not remove any of the covers. There are no user.service able pieces inside.

This apparatus is designed exclusively for domestic.

CLEANING THE COFFEE MAKER BEFORE USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1.Fill the jug with cold water and pour it into the tank.

The water level indicator will show the quantity necessary for the desired cups. A quantity of less than two cups is not recommended.

2.Place the filter in the filter holder. Put in one spoon of coffee (breach cup of water. Check that the filter holder is closed correctly.

Note:

Use number 2 paper filters.

For correct operation, do not use coffee too finely ground.

3.Place the jug with its lid on the coated hot plate, connect the coffee maker to the mains and put the switch to the position. The light indi. cates that the unit is working.

4.If you wish to serve a cup before the brewing cycle has finished, take the jug off the plate. The dripping will temporarily stop. Replace the jug on the hot plate within fifteen seconds.

5.Once the brewing cycle has finished, wait one minute until it has stopped dripping completely.

6.To keep the coffee warm, put the jug back on the hot plate.

CLEANING

Before proceeding with the cleaning, make sure that the coffee maker is disconnected and cold.

After daily use, wash the filter, filter basket and the jug with hot soapy water. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Descale the coffee maker when you begin to notice excessive steam or the brewing time increases considerably. Descaling is recommend. ed once every 80 cycles, depending on the frequency of use and the hardness of the water. To do this:

1.Place the empty jug on the hot plate and the filter basket in the filter holder.

2.Dilute 1 cup of white household vinegar to three cups of water and pour the mix into the tank.

3.Switch on the coffee maker for one minute. Switch it off and leave it to stand for half an hour.

4.Switch on the coffee maker so that the vinegar flows through. Throw away the vinegar and clean the jus.

5.To flush out all traces of the vinegar; switch on the coffee maker using water, for two cycles.
