1. Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the Philips SRU530 universal remote control. After installing the remote control you can operate a maximum of 3 different devices with it:TV, DVD plyer/recorder and VCR.

You can find information about how to prepare this remote control for use in the chapter ‘Installing the remote control’.

2. Installing the remote control

Inserting the batteries

1 Press the cover inwards and slide it in the direction of the arrow.

2 Place two AAA type batteries into the battery compartment, as shown.

3Slide the cover back and click it firmly into place.

Note: If the mode keys (TV, DVD and VCR) blink four times after every key press, the remote control is indicating that its batteries are running low. Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries.

Testing the remote control

The remote control has been programmed to operate most Philips devices. Because the SRU530 may use different signals for each brand and even for different models of the same brand, it is advisable to test whether your device responds to the SRU530.The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.You can repeat the same steps for other devices (DVD player/ recorder and VCR) which you want to operate using the SRU530.

Example of TV:

1Turn your TV on manually or use the original remote control. Tune to channel 1.

2Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up.

– If the key does not light up, check whether the batteries are properly inserted

(see ‘Inserting the batteries’).

3 Check whether all the keys are working. For an overview of the keys and their functions see ‘3. Keys and functions’.

– If the TV responds as it should to all of the key commands the SRU530 is ready for use.

•If the device does not respond at all or not to all of the key commands, follow the instructions under

‘Setting the remote control’, or for online setup go to: www.philips.com/urc.

Setting the remote control

This is only necessary if your device does not respond to the SRU530.

If that is the case, the SRU530 does not recognize the brand and/or model of your device and you need to program the remote control to do so.

The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.You can repeat the same steps for other devices (DVD player/recorder and VCR) which you want to operate using the SRU530.

You can set the remote control either automatically or manually.

Automatically setting the remote control

The remote control will now automatically search for the right code for your device.

Example of TV:

1Make sure the TV is switched on and select a channel using the original remote control or the keys on the TV (for example channel 1).

The SRU530 emits the ‘switch off TV’ signal for all models of TV that are stored in the memory.

•If the device is a DVD-player/recorder or video recorder, insert a disk or tape and start playback.

2Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up.

3 Then keep keys 1 and 3 on the SRU530 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the TV key flashes twice and then remains lit.

4Press and hold the Standby key of the SRU530.

–The SRU530 now starts emitting all known ‘TV off ’ signals, one by one.

Each time a code is sent, the TV key lights up.

5When your TV switches off (stand-by), release the Standby key of the SRU530 immediately.

–The SRU530 has now found a code that works on your TV.

6 Check if you can operate all functions on your TV with the SRU530.

•If this is not the case, you can redo the automatic setting. The SRU530 will then search for a code that works better.

–After the SRU530 has run through all the known codes, the search will stop automatically and the TV key stops flashing.

–Automatic programming of a TV takes a maximum of 5 minutes. For DVD and VCR this time is 2 minutes.

Manually setting the remote control

Example of TV:

1Turn on the TV manually or use the original remote control. Tune in to channel 1.

2Look up the brand of your TV in the

code list at the back of this manual. One or more four-figure codes are shown for

each brand. Note the first code.

Be careful! There are separate tables for TV, DVD and VCR.

On our website www.philips.com/urc you can directly select your device typenumber to find the right code.

Make sure you use the codes from the correct table.

3Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up.

4Keep keys 1 and 3 pressed simultaneously for three seconds until the TV key flashes twice and then remains lit.

5	Then enter the code noted in step 2 using the digital keys.
–	The TV key will now flash twice.
	If the key flashes once for an extended period, the code has not been
	entered properly or the wrong code has been entered.
6	Start again from step 2.
6	Point the SRU530 at the TV and check that it responds as it should.

–If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the SRU530 is ready for use. Do not forget to note your code.

•If the device does not respond at all, or not to all of the

key commands, start again from step 2 and try the next code from the list.

3. Keys and functions

The illustration on page 3 gives an overview of all keys and their functions.

		time as a second key, the second key will get
		another function. All blue labelled keys can be used
		together with SHIFT. For example:
	SHIFT + INSTALLinstalls your TV

Try out other combinations with the SHIFT-key on your device in order to find out which functions are available.

Only functions featured on the original remote control are available.

4. Extra possibilities

Adjusting device selection (Mode keys)

The SRU530 is default set for operating TV, DVD or VCR.You can select the device you wish to operate with the TV, DVD and VCR keys. Each key allows operation of one device only. If desired, you can program the keys to select a different kind of device. For example, if you want to operate a second TV.

In the following example you will see how to configure the DVD key for a second TV.

1Switch on the second TV.

2Press the DVD key to select DVD. Press the key until it lights up.

3 Then keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU530 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the DVD key lights up.

4 Press keys 9, 9 and 2 in that order.

5Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up.

6 Press the 1 key.

– The DVD key flashes twice.

The DVD key will now allow you to operate your second TV.

7 Program the SRU530 to operate the second TV.

Adding a function to the remote control

If you want to add a function to the SRU530, you can contact the

Philips service line for Universal Remote Control to ask for the 5-figure code for the extra function.

Restoring the original functions of your remote control

1 Keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU530 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the mode key (TV, DVD or VCR) flashes twice

and then remains lit.

2 Press keys 9, 8 and 1, in that order.

– The mode key (TV, DVD or VCR) flashes twice.

All original functions have now been restored and any extra functions have been deleted.

5.Troubleshooting

•Problem

–Solution

•The mode keys (TV and DVD/VCR) blink four times after every key press.

– The remote control is indicating that its batteries are running low. Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries.

•The device you want to operate does not respond and the mode key

(TV, DVD or VCR) does not flash when you press a key.

–Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries.

•The device you want to operate does not respond but the mode key

(TV, DVD or VCR) does flash when a key is pressed.

–Point the SRU530 at the device and make sure that there are no obstructions between the SRU530 and the device.

• The SRU530 does not respond properly to commands.

– Maybe you are using the wrong code. Try programming the SRU530 again using another code, which is mentioned under the brand of your device, or reset for automatic search to find the right code.

If the device still does not respond, call our helpline.

• The Teletext keys do not work.

–Find out whether your TV is equipped with Teletext.

–Maybe the SRU530 has to be adapted to the model of the device. Call our helpline for details.

•Your brand of device is not in the code list.

– Try to set the SRU530 automatically.

See ‘Automatically setting the remote control’.

•None of the codes works during manual setting of the remote control.

– If that is the case, follow the instructions under ‘Automatically setting the remote control’.

1. Introduzione

Congratulazioni per l’acquisto del telecomando universale SRU530. Dopo aver installato il telecomando potete utilizzarlo per azionare fino a 3 apparecchi diversi: una TV, un lettore/registratore di DVD e un VCR.

Nel capitolo ‘Installazione del telecomando’ troverete le informazioni necessarie per preparare il telecomando all’uso.

2. Installazione del telecomando

Inserimento delle batterie

1 Premete sul coperchio e fatelo scorrere nella direzione della freccia.

2 Inserite due batterie AAA nel vano batterie, come illustrato.

Note: Nota: Se i tasti di modalità (TV, DVD e VCR) lampeggiano quattro volte dopo ogni volta che si preme un tasto, il telecomando indica che le batterie si stanno scaricando. Sostituite le batterie con due nuove del tipo AAA.

Collaudo del telecomando

Il telecomando è stato programmato per funzionare con la maggioranza degli apparecchi Philips. Poiché l’SRU530 potrebbe utilizzare segnali differenti per ciascuna marca e modello, è opportuno verificare se l’apparecchio risponde ai comandi inviati dall’SRU530. L’esempio che segue (TV) descrive la procedura per il collaudo. Potete ripetere le stesse operazioni per altri apparecchi (lettore/registratore di DVD e VCR) che desiderate azionare utilizzando l’SRU530.

Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore:

1Accendete il televisore direttamente o tramite il suo telecomando originale. Sintonizzate il canale 1.

2Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina.

– Se il tasto non si accende, controllare che le batterie siano state inserite correttamente

(vedi ‘Inserimento delle batterie’).

3Controllate se funzionano tutti i tasti. Per una panoramica sui tasti e le relative funzioni, consultate ‘3.Tasti e funzioni’.

–Se il TV risponde correttamente a tutti i comandi abbinati ai tasti, l’SRU530 è pronto per l’uso.

•Se l’apparecchio non risponde del tutto od ignora alcuni comandi, passate alle istruzioni descritte in ‘Configurazione del telecomando’, oppure per l’impostazione in linea andate al sito: www.philips.com/urc.

Configurazione del telecomando

Questa procedura va svolta solo se l’apparecchio non risponde ai comandi inviati dall’RU530. Se ciò accade significa che l’RU530 non riconosce la marca e/o il modello dell’apparecchio ed è quindi necessario programmare il telecomando in base alle specifiche dell’apparecchio. L’esempio che segue (TV) descrive la procedura di configurazione. Potete ripetere le stesse operazioni per altri apparecchi (lettore/registratore di DVD e VCR) che desiderate azionare utilizzando l’SRU530.

Potete programmare il telecomando sia automaticamente che manualmente.

Impostazione automatica del telecomando

Il telecomando ora effettuerà la ricerca automatica del corretto codice per il vostro apparecchio.

Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore:

1Assicuratevi che il TV sia acceso e selezionate un canale mediante il suo telecomando originale, od i tasti del pannello del televisore (ad esempio il canale 1). L’SRU530 procederà con l’invio del segnale di ‘spegnimento TV’ di tutti i modelli di televisore presenti nella sua memoria.

•Se l’apparecchio è un lettore di DVD o un VCR, inserite un disco o un nastro ed iniziate la riproduzione.

2Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina.

3 Tenete i tasti 1 e 3 sull’SRU530 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto TV lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso.

4Premete e tenete premuto il tasto tasto dell’SRU530.

–L’SRU530 inizia ad inviare tutti i segnali noti di ‘spegnimento TV’, uno alla volta.

Ogni volta che viene inviato un codice, il tasto

TV si illumina.

5Quando il televisore si spegne (standby), rilasciate immediatamente il tasto standby del telecomando SRU530.

-L’SRU530 ha quindi trovato un codice adatto al vostro TV.

6Verificate se l’SRU530 è in grado di controllare tutte le funzioni del televisore.

•Nel caso contrario, potete ripetere l’impostazione. L’SRU530 quindi ricercherà un codice che funziona meglio.

–Quando l’SRU530 ha inviato tutti i codici noti, la ricerca si arresta automaticamente ed il tasto TV cessa di lampeggiare.

–La programmazione automatica di una TV impiega massimo 5 minuti. Per DVD e VCR questo impiega 2 minuti.

Impostazione manuale del telecomando

Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore:

1Accendete il televisore direttamente o tramite il suo telecomando originale. Sintonizzate il canale 1.

2Individuate la marca del vostro TV nella

lista dei codici inclusa alla fine di questa guida. Per ciascuna marca sono elencati uno o più

codici a quattro cifre. Annotate il primo codice.

Fate attenzione! Vi sono tabelle separate per TV, DVD e VCR.

Sul nostro sito www.philips.com/urc potete selezionare direttamente il numero dell’apparecchio per trovare il codice giusto.

Prelevate i codici dalla tabella corretta.

3Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina.

4 Tenete i tasti 1 e 3 sull’SRU530 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto TV lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso.

	5	A questo punto inserite il codice annotato al punto 2, mediante i tasti

–Il tasto TV a questo punto lampeggerà due volte.

Se il tasto lampeggia una volta per un periodo prolungato, non è stato inserito correttamente il codice oppure si tratta di un codice errato. Ripetete la procedura a partire dal punto 2.

6Puntate l’SRU530 in direzione del TV e verificate se l’apparecchio risponde correttamente ai comandi inviati.

–Se il TV risponde a tutti i comandi abbinati ai tasti, l’SRU530 è pronto per l’uso. Non scordate di annotare il codice.

•Se l’apparecchio non risponde del tutto od ignora alcuni comandi, ripetete la procedura a partire dal punto 2 inserendo il secondo codice elencato nella lista.

L’illustrazione a pagina 3 fornisce una panoramica di tutti i tasti e le relative

funzioni.

Provate altre combinazioni del tasto Shift con il vostro apparecchio per verificare le funzioni disponibili. Sono disponibili sono le funzioni presenti nel telecomando originale.

•Se l’apparecchio non risponde del tutto od ignora alcuni comandi, passate alle istruzioni descritte in ‘Configurazione del telecomando’. Può essere necessario inserire un altro codice per l’apparecchio.

4. Funzioni aggiuntive

Selezione dell’apparecchio controllato (Tasti di modalità)

Il telecomando SRU530 è stato impostato per azionamento di default TV, DVD o VCR. Potete selezionare l’apparecchio che desiderate azionare con i tasti di selezione TV, DVD e VCR. Ogni tasto consente l’azionamento di un solo apparecchio. Se desiderato, potete programmare i tasti per selezionare un apparecchio diverso. Ad esempio, se desiderate azionare una seconda TV. Nel seguente esempio vedrete il modo in cui configurare il tasto DVD per una seconda TV.

1Accendete il secondo TV.

2Premete il tasto DVD per selezionar DVD. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina.

3 Quindi tenete i tasti 1 e 6 sull’SRU530 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto DVD lampeggia

due volte e poi rimane acceso.

4 Premete i tasti 9, 9 e 2, in questo ordine.

–Il tasto DVD lampeggia due volte.

Per aggiungere una funzione all’SRU530, contattate il servizio di assistenza Philips per i telecomandi universali per richiedere il codice a 5 cifre riservato alle funzioni aggiuntive.

• L’SRU530 non risponde correttamente ai comandi.

– Forse state utilizzando il codice errato. Provate a riprogrammare l’SRU530 con un altro codice, tra quelli elencati sotto alla marca del vostro apparecchio, oppure azzerate la configurazione svolgendo la ricerca automatica del codice corretto. Se l’apparecchio non risponde ancora ai comando, contattate la nostra helpline.

• I tasti Teletext non funzionano.

– Verificate se il TV include la funzione Teletext.

• L’utilizzo di tutte le funzioni dell’apparecchio è difficoltoso.

–Probabilmente è necessario adattare l’SRU530 al modello dell’apparecchio. Per maggiori dettagli contattate la nostra helpline.

•La marca dell’apparecchio non è elencata nella lista dei codici.

1. Introducción

Enhorabuena por la adquisición del mando a distancia universal Philips Después de instalar el mando a distancia puede controlar un máximo de 3 dispositivos diferentes con él:TV, reproductor/grabador de DVD y VCR. Para obtener más información sobre la configuración de este mando a distancia, consulte el capítulo ‘Instalación del mando a distancia’.

2. Instalación del mando a distancia

Inserción de las pilas

1 Empuje la cubierta hacia dentro desplazándola en la dirección de la flecha .

2 Coloque dos pilas de tipo AAA en el compartimiento de las pilas, tal como se muestra.

3Vuelva a introducir la cubierta hasta que haga clic y esté bien encajada.

Nota: Si las teclas de modo (TV, DVD y VCR) parpadean cuatro veces después de cada pulsación de tecla, el mando a distancia indica que la pila se está agotando. Cambie las pilas viejas por dos pilas nuevas tipo AAA.

Verificación del mando a distancia

El mando a distancia está programado para que funcione con la mayoría de dispositivos Philips. Como el modelo SRU530 puede utilizar diferentes señales para cada marca e incluso para modelos diferentes de la misma marca, se recomienda que verifique si el dispositivo responde al mando SRU530.

En el ejemplo siguiente (TV) se explica cómo realizar esta verificación. Puede repetir los mismos pasos para otros dispositivos (reproductor/grabador de DVD y VCR) que quiera controlar utilizando el SRU530.

Ejemplo de TV:

1Encienda el televisor manualmente o utilice el mando a distancia original. Sintonice el canal 1.

2Pulse la tecla TV para seleccionar el televisor. Pulse la tecla hasta que se encienda.

– Si la tecla no se enciende, compruebe si las pilas están insertadas correctamente

(consulte la sección ‘Inserción de las pilas’).

Configuración del mando a distancia

Este proceso sólo es necesario si el dispositivo no responde al mando a distancia SRU530. Si es así, el mando SRU530 no reconoce la marca y/o el modelo del dispositivo en cuestión y debe programarlo para que lo reconozca. En el ejemplo siguiente (TV) se explica cómo realizar esta configuración. Puede repetir los mismos pasos para otros dispositivos (reproductor/grabador de DVD y VCR) que quiera controlar utilizando el SRU530.

Puede configurar el mando a distancia automáticamente o manualmente.

Configuración automática del mando a distancia

Ahora el mando a distancia buscará automáticamente el código correcto para el dispositivo.

Ejemplo de TV:

1Asegúrese de que el televisor está encendido y seleccione un canal con el mando a distancia original o las teclas del televisor (por ejemplo, el canal 1).

El mando a distancia SRU530 emite la señal de ‘apagar TV’ para todos los modelos de televisor almacenados en la memoria.

•Si el dispositivo es un reproductor/ grabador de DVD o un videograbador, inserte un disco o una cinta e inicie la reproducción.

2Pulse la tecla TV para seleccionar el televisor. Pulse la tecla hasta que se encienda.

4Mantenga pulsada la tecla de espera del SRU530.

–El mando a distancia SRU530 comienza a emitir todas las señales conocidas de ‘apagar TV’, una por una.

Cada vez que se envía un código, la tecla TV se enciende.

5Cuando su televisor se apague (pase a modo de espera), deje de pulsar inmediatamente la tecla de espera del SRU530.

–El mando a distancia SRU530 ha encontrado el código que funciona con el televisor.

6Compruebe que todas las funciones del televisor funcionan con el mando a distancia SRU530.

•Si no es así, repita el proceso de configuración automática.

El mando a distancia SRU530 buscará un código que funcione mejor.

–Una vez que el mando a distancia SRU530 ha verificado todos los códigos conocidos, la búsqueda se detiene automáticamente y el botón TV deja de parpadear.

–La programación automática de un televisor lleva como máximo 5 minutos.

Para DVD y VCR este tiempo es de 2 minutos.

Configuración manual del mando a distancia

Ejemplo de TV:

1Encienda el televisor manualmente o utilice el mando a distancia original. Sintonice el canal 1.

2Busque la marca del televisor en la lista de

códigos que se encuentra al dorso de este manual. A cada marca le corresponde uno o

más códigos de cuatro cifras. Tome nota del primer código.

¡Vaya con cuidado! Hay tablas separadas para TV, DVD y VCR.

Asegúrese de utilizar los códigos de la tabla correcta.

3Pulse la tecla TV para seleccionar el televisor. Pulse la tecla hasta que se encienda.

4 Mantenga las teclas 1 y 3 pulsadas simultáneamente durante tres segundos, hasta que la tecla TV parpadee dos veces y permanezca encendida.

5 A continuación, introduzca el código anotado en el paso 2 mediante las teclas digitales.

–Ahora la tecla TV parpadea dos veces.

Si la tecla parpadea una vez durante un período largo, el código no ha

sido introducido correctamente o se ha introducido un código incorrecto.

Vuelva a empezar desde el paso 2.

6Apunte el mando a distancia SRU530 al televisor y verifique que responde.

–Si el televisor responde a todos los comandos de teclas, el mando a distancia SRU530 se puede utilizar. No olvide anotar el código.

•Si el dispositivo no responde a ninguno o sólo a algunos comandos de tecla, vuelva a empezar desde el paso 2 y pruebe con el siguiente código de la lista.

•Si el dispositivo no responde a ninguno o sólo a algunos comandos de tecla, siga las instrucciones de la sección ‘Configuración del mando a distancia’. Es posible que tenga que introducir otro código para el dispositivo.

4. Funciones adicionales

Ajuste de selección del dispositivo (Teclas de modo)

El SRU530 está configurado por defecto para el control de TV,VCR o DVD. Puede seleccionar el dispositivo que desee controlar con los botones de selección TV y DVD/VCR. Cada tecla sólo permite el control de un dispositivo. Si lo desea, puede programar las teclas para seleccionar un tipo de dispositivo diferente. Por ejemplo, si quiere controlar un segundo televisor. En el ejemplo siguiente, verá cómo configurar la tecla DVD para un segundo televisor.

1Encienda el segundo televisor.

2Pulse la tecla DVD para seleccionar DVD. Pulse la tecla hasta que se encienda.

3 Mantenga las teclas 1 y 6 del SRU530 pulsadas simultáneamente durante tres segundos, hasta que la tecla DVD se encienda.

4 Pulse las teclas 9, 9 y 2, en este orden.

5Pulse la tecla TV para seleccionar el televisor. Pulse la tecla hasta que se encienda.

6 Pulse la tecla 1.

– La tecla DVD parpadea dos veces.

Ahora la tecla DVD le permitirá controlar su segundo televisor.

7Programe el mando a distancia SRU530 para utilizar el segundo televisor. Consulte ‘Configuración del mando a distancia’.

Cómo agregar una función al mando a distancia

Si desea agregar una función al mando a distancia SRU530, puede llamar a la línea de servicios de Philips para mandos a distancia universales y solicitar el código de 5 cifras para la función adicional.

Restauración de la configuración inicial del mando a distancia

1 Mantenga las teclas 1 y 6 del SRU530 pulsadas simultáneamente durante tres segundos, hasta que la tecla DVD se encienda.

2 Pulse las teclas 9, 8 y 1, en este orden.

– La tecla de modo (TV, DVD o VCR) parpadea dos veces.

Se restauran todas las funciones originales y se borran las funciones adicionales.

– Puede que esté utilizando el código incorrecto. Vuelva a programar el mando a distancia SRU530 con otro de los códigos indicados para la marca del dispositivo, o configure la búsqueda automática para encontrar el código adecuado. Si el dispositivo sigue sin responder, llame a nuestra línea de ayuda.

•Las teclas del teletexto no funcionan.

–Averigüe si su televisor está equipado con la función de teletexto.

• Tiene problemas para utilizar todas las funciones del dispositivo.
