IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

5. Do not use this apparatus near water.

6. Clean only with a dry cloth.

7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider that the other. A groundingtype plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into the outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/ apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

13. Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moistue, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

Attention: Installation should be performed by qualified service personnel only in accordance with the National Electrical Code or applicable local codes.

Power Disconnect. Units have power supplied whenever the power cord is inserted into the power source. The power cord is the main power disconnect for all units.

The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

External CD/DVD writer

The external CD/DVD writer is connected to a Divar for making archives locally without the need for a PC. The external CD/DVD writer is a laser product. The following classification label is located on the drive.

Firmware

Before connecting the external CD/DVD writer, please check that the Divar firmware version is 2.0 or higher. You can verify the version number of your Divar by pressing ALT followed by LIVE (F1), when in the live mode. You can check www.boschsecuritysystems.com for the latest firmware version.

Rear panel

SCSI ID

Set the SCSI ID to a value between 0 and 6 (default 5). If you are using a disk array make sure that the ID you select for the external CD/DVD writer is different from the ID set on the disk array. (The default SCSI ID of the Divar itself is 7.)

Connection

Connect the external CD/DVD writer to the Divar first, then connect the disk array to the external CD/DVD writer. If no disk array is used, be sure to connect the supplied terminator to the second SCSI connector!

Plug and play

The external CD/DVD writer can be directly connected to the Divar without switching it off. You only need to reboot if a SCSI cable is disconnected to place the external CD/ DVD writer between a storage array and the Divar. Select Detect writer (refer to the Disk manager/Storage setup menu) to detect a connected CD/DVD writer for the first time. This is only necessary if the Divar is switched on before the writer and if the writer's SCSI ID is not 5 (the default). After switching on the external CD/DVD writer, wait approximately 30 seconds before proceeding.

Supported Media

The external CD/DVD writer supports the following types of media:

DVD+RW, DVD+R, CD-R and CD-RW.

The CD/DVD writer might not support all CD and DVD media. For a list of approved media (not supplied by Bosch), please visit www.boschsecuritysystems.com. After making an archive with the CD/DVD writer, we advise you to test the CD or DVD media to verify that the archived data can be played back on a PC.

Installation Environment

Mounting: The external CD/DVD writer is supplied as a desktop unit. Ventilation: Ensure that the location planned for the installation of the unit is well

ventilated. Take note of the locations of the cooling vents in the unit's enclosure and ensure that they are not obstructed.

Temp er at ur e: Extremes of heat or cold beyond the specified operating temperature limits may cause the unit to fail. Do not install the unit on top of hot equipment.

Power Supply: Ensure that the site's AC power supply is stable and within the rated voltage of the unit. If the site's AC power is likely to have spikes or power dips, use power line conditioning or an uninterruptable power supply (UPS).

Achive Player software

When you have successfully connected your external CD/DVD writer to the Divar, verify that the writer has been detected in the Divar’s Disk Manager / Storage Setup menu, insert the supplied CD and load the latest version of the Achive Player software into the Divar according to the instructions that appear on your monitor screen.

Graveur de CD/DVD externe

Raccordé à un Divar, ce graveur de CD/DVD externe permet l'archivage local sans recourir à un ordinateur. Ce graveur de CD/DVD externe est un produit laser. L'étiquette de classification ci-dessous figure à l'arrière de l'appareil:

Contenu de l'emballage

Vérifiez si tous les éléments ci-dessous figurent dans l'emballage :

Micrologiciel

Avant de procéder au raccordement du graveur de CD/DVD externe, vérifiez si le micrologiciel du Divar présente la version 2.0 ou une version ultérieure. Pour ce faire, en mode temps réel, appuyez sur la touche ALT, puis sur la touche LIVE (F1). Pour télécharger la dernière version du micrologiciel, visitez le site www.boschsecuritysystems.com.

ID SCSI

Réglez l'ID SCSI sur une valeur comprise entre 0 et 6 (par défaut 5). Si vous utilisez une matrice de disques, réglez l'ID du graveur de CD/DVD externe et l'ID de la matrice de disques sur des valeurs différentes (par défaut, l'ID SCSI du Divar est réglé sur 7).

Raccordement

Raccordez le graveur de CD/DVD externe au Divar. Raccordez ensuite la matrice de disques au graveur de CD/DVD externe. Si vous n'utilisez pas de matrice de disques, raccordez le terminateur fourni au deuxième connecteur SCSI.

Plug-and-play

Vous pouvez connecter le graveur de CD/DVD externe directement au Divar, sans devoir mettre celui-ci hors tension. Vous devrez redémarrer le Divar uniquement si vous débranchez un câble SCSI pour installer le graveur de CD/DVD externe entre une matrice de stockage et le Divar. À la première utilisation, sélectionnez Détecter graveur (dans le menu Gestionnaire de disques/Configuration du stockage) pour détecter un graveur de CD/DVD connecté. Effectuez cette opération uniquement dans les cas de figure suivants : vous avez allumé le Divar préalablement au graveur ou l'ID SCSI du graveur n'est pas réglé sur 5 (valeur par défaut). Après avoir allumé le graveur de CD/DVD externe, patientez environ 30 secondes avant d'effectuer toute opération.

Supports pris en charge

Le graveur de CD/DVD externe prend en charge les supports suivants :

DVD+RW, DVD+R, CD-R et CD-RW.

Le graveur de DVD peut ne pas reconnaître tous les CD et DVD. Pour obtenir la liste des CD et DVD pris en charge (en dehors des ceux fournis par Bosch), rendezvous à l'adresse www.boschsecuritysystems.com. Après avoir créé un CD ou un DVD avec le graveur de DVD, nous vous recommandons de le tester afin de vérifier que les données peuvent être lues sur un PC.

Environnement d'installation

Montage : le graveur de CD/DVD externe est livré comme appareil de bureau. Ventilation : vérifiez si le local d'installation de l'appareil bénéficie d'une ventilation

correcte. Assurez-vous que les orifices d'aération de l'appareil ne sont pas obstrués. Temp ér at ur e : les températures déviant fortement des températures de fonctionnement recommandées risquent d'entraîner un dysfonctionnement au niveau de l'appareil. Évitez de placer l'appareil sur un dispositif générant de la chaleur.

Alimentation : vérifiez si l'alimentation secteur du site est stable et si elle correspond à la tension nominale de l'appareil. Si l'alimentation secteur du site est susceptible de fluctuer fortement, utilisez un filtre secteur ou un onduleur.

Lecteur d'archives

Une fois le graveur de CD/DVD externe connecté au Divar, vérifiez qu'il a bien été détecté via le menu Gestionnaire de disques / Configuration archivage du Divar. Ensuite, insérez le CD fourni et chargez la dernière version du Lecteur d'archives en suivant les instructions à l'écran.
