Product overview

The main purpose of the product range is to provide a product that prevents electric surges from
affecting household electronic products. In addition to surge protection, the product range
offers various plug configurations and supplemental protection

This range consists of personal surge protectors with outlet counts from one to eleven, in
several form configurations, colors, cord length and plug design. The representative product
used for the analysis is PER8T APC Personal SurgeArrest, 8 outlet, phone line protection.

The environmental impacts of this referenced product are representative of the impacts of the
other products of the range which are developed with a similar technology.

Manufacturing

The personal surge protector product range is manufactured at a Schneider Electric production site on which an ISO14001 certified
environmental management system has been established.

Distribution

The weight and volume of the packaging have been optimized, based on the European Union's packaging directive.
The PER8T Personal surge protector weight is 500 g. It consists of cardboard, paper based labels and wooden pallets.

Use

The products of the Personal Surge Protectors do not generate environmental pollution (noise, emissions) requiring special precautionary
measures in standard use.
