Use as directed

NOTE

This vacuum cleaner is intended for use in the home and not for industrial purposes. The vacuum cleaner must be used exclusively in accordance with the specifications stated in the instructions.

The manufacturer shall not be held liable for any damages which arise from use which is not as directed or has been caused by an incorrect operation of the vacuum cleaner. Therefore, please ensure that the following information is observed and heeded at all times.

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE

!WARNING

Do not use the vacuum cleaner to pick up flammable or combustible liquids.

Do not use the vacuum cleaner in the presence of flammable or combustible vapors.

Handling the cord on this product will expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.

!CAUTION

Do operate the appliance only with original dust bags.

Do operate the appliance only by using original spare parts, accessories or optional accessories. Use only as described in this manual.

Do connect and start up the vacuum cleaner only in accordance with the information stipulated on the identification plate.

Do protect the vacuum cleaner from external weather conditions, dampness and heat sources.

Do switch off and unplug the appliance before any assembly, cleaning and before servicing.

Do supervise children whenever they are around an operating appliance to prevent injury to the child and possible damage from misuse of the appliance.

Do switch off and unplug the appliance if it stops sucking or at the event of any other fault.

Do ensure that any repair work or replacement of spare parts is only carried out by an authorized customer services department.

Do fully extend the power cord if the appliance is to be used continuously for several hours.

Wool or velour carpets, particularly those with a loose pile, should only be cleaned occasionally with the turbo brush, must leave sufficient intervals in between.

Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.

Turn of all controls before unplugging.

Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.

Hold plug when rewinding onto cord reel. Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding.

Unplug before connecting the Turbo Universal floor brush.

Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer`s recommended attachments.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not ´ change the plug in any way.

Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.

Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.

Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.

Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.

Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.

Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce air flow.

Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

Do not use without dust bag and/or filters in place.

Do not vaccum up damp substances or liquids to avoid electrical shock hazards.

Do not operate the brush on or next to people or animals or let the tube or nozzles get close to your face or head to prevent entanglement or possible injury from flying debris.

Do not operate the vacuum if any part of it is damaged to prevent injury to the operator or bystanders.

Do not use machine as a step.

Do not re-use or wash the filters except the motor protection filter.

Do not remove any screws.

Do not vaccum up sharp objects to prevent injuries when opening or emptying the appliance.

Do not use a damaged vaccum appliance.

Do not operate the brush on or next to people or animals or let the brush get close to your face or head to prevent entanglement or possible injury from flying debris.

Do not operate the brush if any part of it is damaged to prevent injury to the operator or bystanders.

Do not reach into the running brush roller

Do not drive over the power cord while the brush roller is running.

Do not leave the turbo brush standing on the carpet when the brush roller is rotating, it must be kept moving (could damage the pile).

Do not use the turbo brush to clean another electrical appliance.

Do not immerse any part of the vacuum cleaner or turbo brush in water.

Starting up

Insert the flexible hose connector into the opening on the vacuum cleaner until it engages.

Push the ERGOGRIP™ Handle into the telescopic tube.

Fit the turbo brush onto the suction tube.

Unlock the telescopic tube by moving the release button in the direction of the arrows and then set it to the required length.

Take the mains plug, pull the mains cable to the required length and insert the plug into a wall socket.

To switch your vacuum cleaner on, press the On/Off button in direction of arrow.

The button can also be pressed using the swing handle.

Furniture brush

For vacuuming picture frames, books, delicate furniture, etc.

Small accessories that you do not need can be stored in the vacuum cleaner lid.

You can use the parking aid on the back of the appliance during short pauses in vacuuming after switching off the vacuum cleaner.

To do this, slide the catch on the floor tool into the groove on the back of the appliance.

The vacuum cleaner can also be carried using the swing handle when negotiating obstacles such as stairs.

After work

Rewinding the power cord.

Tug the power cord and let go (the cable automatically rewinds).

To store or transport the vacuum cleaner, use the storage aid on the underside of the cleaner. Stand the vacuum cleaner up on its end.

Changing the dust bag

Place a new MEGAfilt®SuperTEX dust bag in the holder and close the dust bag compartment lid.

Caution: The cover only closes when a

MEGAfilt®SuperTEXdust bag has been inserted.

Cleaning the motor protection filter

The motor protection filter should be cleaned at regular intervals by tapping it or washing it out.

Open the dust compartment cover.

Remove the motor protection filter in the direction of the arrow.

Empty the motor protection filter by tapping it.

If the motor protection filter is very dirty, wash it out.

Leave the filter to dry for at least 24 hours.

After cleaning, insert the motor protection filter in the machine and close the dust compartment cover.

Replacing the micro-hygiene filter

micro hygiene filter should be changed when starting a new pack of bags.

Open the dust bag compartment lid

Unlock the filter holder by pushing the locking tab in the direction of the arrow.

Remove the foam and micro-hygiene filter. Place a new micro-hygiene filter and the foam in the filter holder.

Insert the filter holder back into the vacuum cleaner and click it into place.

Replacing the HEPA filter

If your vacuum cleaner is equipped with a HEPA filter, this should be replaced once a year.

Open the dust bag compartment lid

Unlock the HEPA filter by pushing the locking tab in the direction of the arrow and remove it from the vacuum cleaner.

Insert the new HEPA filter and click it into place.

After vacuuming up fine dust particles, shake out the motor protection filter to clean it and

replace

the micro-hygiene

filter, activated carbon filter or

HEPA filter

Maintenance

Always switch off the vacuum cleaner and pull out the plug before performing any maintenance work. Remove the turbo brush from the steel / telescopic tube.

Cut off any wrapped around hair or threads using a pair of scissors.

vacuum up the threads and hair using crevice tool.

Before the appliance is cleaned, ensure that it has been switched off and unplugged.

Vacuum cleaners and accessories made of plastic can be cleaned using a general commercial plastic cleaner.

Do not use scouring agents, glass or all-purpose cleaners. Never immerse the vacuum cleaner in water!

If necessary, the dust compartment can be cleaned using another vacuum cleaner, or simply cleaned with a dry dust cloth / dust brush.

STATEMENT OF LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY

Bosch Small Domestic Appliances

What this Warranty Covers & Who it Applies to: The limited warranty provided BSH Home Appliances Bosch in this Statement of Limited Product Warranty applies only to the Bosch Small Domestic Appliances (“Product”) sold to you, the first using purchaser, provided that the Product was purchased: (1) for your normal, household (non-commercial) use, and has in fact at all times only been used for normal household purposes; (2) new at retail (not a display, “as is”, or previously returned model), and not for resale, or commercial use; and (3) within the United States or Canada, and has at all times remained within the country of original purchase. The warranties stated herein apply only to the first purchaser of the Product and are not transferable.

How Long the Warranty Lasts: Bosch warrants that the Product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three hundred sixty-five days (365) days from the date of purchase. The foregoing timeline begins to run upon the date of purchase, and shall not be stalled, tolled, extended, or suspended, for any reason whatsoever.

Repair/Replace as Your Exclusive Remedy: During this warranty period, Bosch or one of its authorized service providers will repair your Product without charge to you (subject to certain limitations stated herein) if your Product proves to have been manufactured with a defect in materials or workmanship. If reasonable attempts to repair the Product have been made without success, then Bosch will replace your Product (upgraded models may be available to you, in Bosch’s sole discretion, for an additional charge). All removed parts and components shall become the property of Bosch at its sole option. All replaced and/or repaired parts shall assume the identity of the original part for purposes of this warranty and this warranty shall not be extended with respect to such parts. Bosch’s sole liability and responsibility hereunder is to repair manu- facturer-defective Product only, using a Bosch -authorized service provider during normal business hours. For safety and property damage concerns, Bosch highly recommends that you do not attempt to repair the Product yourself, or use an un-authorized servicer; Bosch will have no responsibility or liability for repairs or work performed by a non-authorized servicer. If you choose to have someone other than an authorized service provider work on your Product, THIS WARRANTY WILL AUTOMATICALLY BECOME NULL AND VOID. Authorized service providers are those persons or companies that have been specially trained on Bosch products, and who possess, in Bosch’s opinion, a superior reputation for customer service and technical ability (note that they are independent entities and are not agents, partners, affiliates or representatives of Bosch). Notwithstanding the foregoing, Bosch will not incur any liability, or

have responsibility, for the Product if it is located in a remote area (more than 100 miles from an authorized service provider) or is reasonably inaccessible, hazardous, threatening, or treacherous locale, surroundings, or environment; in any such event, if you request, Bosch would still pay for labor and parts and ship the parts to the nearest authorized service provider, but you would still be fully liable and responsible for any travel time or other special charges by the service company, assuming they agree to make the service call.

Out of Warranty Product: Bosch is under no obligation, at law or otherwise, to provide you with any concessions, including repairs, pro-rates, or Product replacement, once this warranty has expired.

Warranty Exclusions: The warranty coverage described herein excludes all defects or damage that are not the direct fault of Bosch, including without limitation, one or more of the following:

(1) use of the Product in anything other than its normal, customary and intended manner (including without limitation, any form of commercial use, use or storage of an indoor product outdoors, use of the Product in conjunction with air or water-going vessels); (2) any party’s willful misconduct, negligence, misuse, abuse, accidents, neglect, improper operation, failure to maintain, improper or negligent installation, tampering, failure to follow operating instructions, mishandling, unauthorized service (including self-performed “fixing” or exploration of the appliance’s internal workings); (4) adjustment, alteration or modification of any kind; (5) a failure to comply with any applicable state, local, city, or county electrical, plumbing and/or building codes, regulations, or laws, including failure to install the product in strict conformity with local fire and building codes and regulations; (6) ordinary wear and tear, spills of food, liquid, grease accumulations, or other substances that accumulate on, in, or around the Product; and (7) any external, elemental and/or environmental forces and factors, including without limitation, rain, wind, sand, floods, fires, mud slides, freezing temperatures, excessive moisture or extended exposure to humidity, lightning, power surges, structural failures surrounding the appliance, and acts of God. In no event shall Bosch have any liability or responsibility whatsoever for damage to surrounding property, including cabinetry, floors, ceilings, and other structures or objects around the Product. Also excluded from this warranty are scratches, nicks, minor dents, and cosmetic damages on external surfaces and exposed parts; Products on which the serial numbers have been altered, defaced, or removed; service visits to teach you how to use the Product, or visits where there is nothing wrong with the Product; correction of installation problems (you are solely responsible for any structure and setting for the Product, including all electrical, plumbing or other connecting facilities, for proper foundation/flooring, and for any alterations including without limitation cabinetry, walls, floors, shelving, etc.); and resetting of breakers or fuses.

TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, THIS WARRANTY SETS OUT YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES WITH RESPECT TO PRODUCT, WHETHER THE CLAIM ARISES IN CONTRACT OR TORT (INCLUDING STRICT LIABILITY, OR NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. ANY WARRANTY IMPLIED BY LAW, WHETHER FOR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL BE EFFECTIVE ONLY FOR THE PERIOD THAT THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EFFECTIVE. IN NO EVENT WILL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, “BUSINESS LOSS”, AND/OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOSSES, OR EXPENSES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION TIME AWAY FROM WORK, HOTELS AND/OR RESTAURANT MEALS, REMODELLING EXPENSES IN EXCESS OF DIRECT DAMAGES WHICH ARE DEFINITIVELY CAUSED EXCLUSIVELY BY Bosch, OR OTHERWISE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS, WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.

No attempt to alter, modify or amend this warranty shall be effective unless authorized in writing by an officer of BSH.
