safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all

This appliance is intended exclusively for the toasting of slices of bread, rolls and
waffl es in domestic environments. It is not intended for use with other foods or
other materials.
This appliance is intended solely for use in private homes. Not for commercial use!

The appliance is supplied with the following components as standard:

1) Take the appliance and the operating instructions out of the packaging.
2) Remove all packaging material.
NOTE
Check the package for completeness and for signs of visible damage.

► If the delivery is not complete or has been damaged due to defective
packaging or transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see section
Warranty and Service).
Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during shipment.
The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness
and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the materials cycle conserves raw materials and
reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose of packaging materials
which are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
NOTE
If possible, keep the original packaging of the appliance during the warranty

period so that the appliance can be packed properly for returning in the
event of a warranty claim.

Safety guidelines
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
► Arrange for damaged power cables and/or plugs to be replaced
as soon as possible by a qualifi ed specialist or by Customer
Services.
► Use the appliance only in dry indoor areas, not outdoors.
NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids!
Otherwise there is a risk of an electric shock.
► NEVER insert cutlery or other metallic objects into the toaster slots.
► Ensure that the appliance can never come into contact with
water. NEVER use the appliance adjacent to water or close to
vessels containing liquids.
► Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp when
the appliance is in use. Route the cable so that it cannot be
trapped or damaged in any way.
► After use, always remove the plug from the mains power socket,
this prevents the unintentional switching on of the appliance.
► Avoid using slices that are too big or too thick as these can eas-
ily become jammed in the appliance. If slices of bread become
jammed, fi rst disconnect the plug from the mains power socket.
Release jammed slices of bread with a blunt wooden object (e.g.
a wooden spatula or spoon). Do NOT touch the heater elements.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
► This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8 years or
more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are
being supervised or have been instructed with regard to the safe
use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks.
► Children must not use the appliance as a plaything.
► Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children
unless they are older than 8 years of age and are supervised.
Children younger than 8 years of age must be kept away from
the appliance and the power cable.
► The appliance can become hot when it is in use. Therefore, only
touch the operating elements.
► Use the appliance only on a
stable, non-slippery and level surface.
► Do not use an external timer switch or a separate remote control
system to operate the appliance.
► Unwind the power cable completely from the cable retainer
before using the appliance.

► When toasting very small bread slices, take extreme care when
removing them from the toaster! Risk of burns!
CAUTION – RISK OF FIRE!
► Bakery products can burn! You should therefore NEVER locate the
appliance close to or underneath infl ammable objects, especially
not under curtains or suspended cupboards.
► This appliance may not be used in close vicinity to fl ammable
material.
► NEVER cover the toaster when it is in use.
► The appliance must always be supervised during use.
► To avoid the risk of fi re, empty the crumb tray at regular intervals.

Tips for use
■ Diff erences in bread sorts, moisture content and the thickness of individual
slices have an eff ect on the browning of the toast. Therefore the bread for
toasting should be kept in sealed packaging until required. Always start by
trying out a lower browning level.
■ Use a lower browning level if you are toasting dry bread since dry bread
browns faster than fresh bread.
■ Set a lower browning level if you are toasting less than 4 bread slices.
■ Select a higher browning level for dark bread than for light bread, for example,
white bread.
■ To prevent the toaster from overheating and to obtain an even browning of
bread, wait for about 15 seconds between two toasting processes.
■ You should only use the highest level on the toasting dial 6 for large slices
of dark bread. With this browning level light bread will scorch and become
inedible. In addition, it may cause the generation of smoke. If this occurs,
press the “Cancel” button 3 immediately and disconnect the power
cable from the mains power socket.
Before fi rst use
■ Operate the toaster without bread 3 times at the maximum browning level (7).
■ Afterwards, clean the toaster as described in the chapter “Cleaning”.
NOTE
The toasting lever 2 only engages when the cable is connected to a
►
mains power socket.
► With the fi rst usage a slight smell can arise (minimal smoke development
is also possible). This is normal and dissipates after a short time. Ensure
suffi cient ventilation. For example, open a window.

Operation
Adjusting the browning level
The desired browning level can be adjusted infi nitely from “light” (1) to “dark”
(7) using the toasting dial 6.
NOTE
Note that, subject to the thickness of the bread in the toaster, the level of
►
browning can vary somewhat even if the toasting dial 6 has not been
adjusted! The fewer the number of slices inserted, the higher the browning
level. Thus, if you are not intending to toast many slices, always set the
toasting dial 6 a little lower.
Toasting
CAUTION – RISK OF FIRE!
When the appliance is in operation, do NOT cover the toasting slots 9.
►
There will be a risk of fi re! The appliance could be irreparably damaged!
1) After setting the desired browning level, insert the bread into the toasting slots 9.
2) Press the toasting lever 2 downwards. The automatic bread centring device
centres the inserted bread in the toasting slots 9.
3) When the desired level of browning has been reached, the toaster automatically switches itself off and the slices are ejected upwards.
Stopping the toasting process

If you wish to stop toasting, press the “Cancel” button 3 . The toaster
switches itself off and the bread slices are ejected upwards.
Reheat function
The reheat function enables you to warm bread without browning it. As an
example, for toast that has gone cold. The bread is only briefl y warmed.
1) Insert the bread and press the toasting lever 2 down.

Defrost function
By pressing the “Defrost” button 5 frozen bread can also be thawed and
toasted. In this mode, the toaster slowly warms the bread.
1) After setting the desired browning level, insert the bread into the toaster
slots 9.
2) Press the toasting lever 2 downwards.

4) When the defrosting and toasting process is fi nished, the toaster switches
itself off automatically, the indicator lamp in the “Defrost” button
goes out and the bread slices are ejected upwards.

Warming up crusty bread rolls
NEVER place bread rolls directly on the toaster, ALWAYS use the warming rack 1.
1) Press the lever for the warming rack 8 down until it is completely extended.
2) Place the bread rolls onto the rack and start the toasting procedure. Set the
toasting dial 6 to a maximum of level 3. The browning can, however, vary,
depending on the composition and type of bread roll.
NOTE
Place the rolls onto the warming rack 1 in such a manner that they cannot
►
fall through the rack 1.
► After toasting, the rolls will be very hot.
3) As soon as the toaster switches itself off , turn the rolls over to toast the other
side and then switch the toaster back on.
4) If you no longer need the warming rack 1 return the rack 1 to in its starting
position by pushing the lever for the warming rack 8 back upwards.

Crumb tray
When toasting, crumbs that fall from the bread are collected in the crumb tray 7.
1) To empty crumbs from the crumb tray 7, simply pull it out to the side.
2) Tip out the crumbs.
3) Slide the crumb tray 7 back into the toaster.
Cleaning

Disconnect the plug from the mains power socket before cleaning the

appliance.

► Allow the toaster to cool before cleaning it. Risk of burns!
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents. These can damage the

surfaces of the appliance.
■ Clean the appliance housing using only a dry or lightly moistened cloth.
■ To avoid the risk of fi re, empty the crumb tray 7 at regular intervals.

Warranty and service
You are provided a 3-year warranty on this appliance, valid from the date
of purchase. This appliance has been manufactured with care and inspected
meticulously prior to delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim,
please contact your Customer Service unit by telephone. This is the only way to
guarantee free return of your goods.
NOTE
The warranty only covers claims for material and manufacturing defects,
►
not for transport damage, worn parts or damage to fragile components
such as buttons or batteries.
This appliance is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes.
The warranty shall be deemed void in the case of misuse or improper handling,
use of force and interventions which have not been carried out by one of our
authorised Service centres.
Your statutory rights are not restricted by this warranty. The warranty period
is not prolonged by repairs eff ected under the warranty. This also applies to
replaced and repaired components.
Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking, but no later than two days after the date of purchase.
Repairs eff ected after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to charge.

Pakkauksen hävittäminen
Pakkaus suojaa laitetta kuljetusvaurioilta. Pakkausmateriaalit on valittu ympäristöystävälliset ja jätehuoltotekniset näkökulmat huomioiden, ja ne voidaan kierrättää.
Pakkauksen palauttaminen materiaalikiertoon säästää raaka-aineita ja vähentää
jätteiden syntymistä. Hävitä tarpeettomat pakkausmateriaalit paikallisten voimassa
olevien määräysten mukaisesti.

Turvallisuusohjeet
SÄHKÖISKUN VAARA
► Anna valtuutetun ammattihenkilöstön vaihtaa vaurioitunut virta-
johto tai pistoke välittömästi uuteen vaarojen välttämiseksi.
► Käytä laitetta vain kuivissa tiloissa, ei ulkona.
Älä koskaan upota laitetta veteen tai muihin nesteisiin!
Muutoin on olemassa sähköiskusta johtuva hengenvaara.
► Älä koskaan työnnä ruokailuvälineitä tai muita metallisia esineitä
paahtoaukkoihin.
► Varmista, ettei laite pääse koskaan kosketuksiin veden kanssa.
Älä koskaan käytä laitetta veden lähettyvillä tai nestettä sisältävien
astioiden vieressä.
► Pidä huolta siitä, ettei virtajohto kastu tai altistu kosteudelle käytön
aikana. Vedä virtajohto siten, ettei se jää kiinni tai vaurioidu
muulla tavalla.
► Vedä pistoke käytön jälkeen aina pistorasiasta tahattoman päälle
käynnistymisen estämiseksi.
► Älä paahda liian suuria tai paksuja viipaleita, sillä ne jäävät
helposti kiinni. Jos leipäviipaleet jäävät kiinni paahtimen sisään,
irrota ensin pistoke pistorasiasta. Irrota kiinni jäänyt leipäviipale
tylpällä puutikulla (esim. siveltimen varrella). Vältä koskettamasta
leivänpaahtimen vastuksia.

VAROITUS! LOUKKAANTUMISVAARA!
► Tätä laitetta saavat käyttää yli 8-vuotiaat lapset sekä henkilöt,
joiden fyysiset, aistilliset tai henkiset kyvyt ovat rajalliset tai joiden
kokemus ja/tai tiedot ovat puutteelliset, jos heitä valvotaan tai
heitä on opastettu laitteen turvalliseen käyttöön, ja he ovat ymmärtäneet siitä aiheutuvat vaarat.
► Lapset eivät saa leikkiä laitteella.
► Lapset eivät saa suorittaa puhdistusta eivätkä käyttäjähuoltoa,
paitsi jos he ovat täyttäneet 8 vuotta ja heitä valvotaan. Alle
8-vuotiaat lapset on pidettävä poissa laitteen ja liitäntäjohdon
lähettyviltä.
► Laitteen osat voivat kuumentua käytössä. Koske siksi ainoastaan
käyttöelementteihin.
► Sijoita laite tukevalle, liukumattomalle ja tasaiselle alustalle.
► Älä käytä laitteen kanssa ulkoista ajastinta tai erillistä kauko-ohja-
usjärjestelmää.
► Vapauta virtajohto kokonaan johtokelalta, ennen kuin käytät laitetta.
► Kun otat tavallista pienempiä leipäviipaleita pois leivänpaahtimesta,
on olemassa palovamman vaara!

► Paahdettava leipä voi syttyä! Älä siksi koskaan aseta laitetta pala-
vien esineiden lähelle tai alle, erityisesti verhojen tai yläkaappien
alapuolelle.

► Älä koskaan peitä leivänpaahdinta, kun se on käytössä.
► Älä koskaan käytä laitetta ilman valvontaa.
► Tyhjennä murulaatikko säännöllisin väliajoin palovaaran välttämiseksi.

Käyttövinkkejä
■ Leivän laatu ja kosteus sekä yksittäisten viipaleiden paksuus vaikuttavat
paahtoleivän ruskistumiseen. Siksi paahtoleipä tulisi aina säilyttää suljetussa

pakkauksessa mahdollisuuksien mukaan. Kokeile paahtamista aina ensin
alhaisemmilla paahtoasteilla.
■ Käytä pienempää paahtoastetta, kun paahdat kuivaa leipää, sillä kuiva
leipä paahtuu nopeammin kuin tuore leipä.
■ Säädä alhaisempi paahtoaste, jos et paahda 4 viipaletta kerrallaan.
■ Valitse tumman leivän paahtamiseen suurempi paahtoaste kuin vaalean
leivän, esimerkiksi ranskanleivän, paahtamiseen.
■ Jotta leivänpaahdin ei kuumenisi liikaa ja leipä ruskistuisi tasaisesti, odota
paahtokertojen välillä n. 15 sekuntia.
■ Paahtoasteen säätimen 6 maksimaalista asetusta tulisi käyttää vain suurten
tummien leipäviipaleiden paahtamiseen. Vaalea leipä palaa tällä paahtoasteella syömäkelvottomaksi. Tällöin voi myös syntyä käryä. Paina tällöin
välittömästi Stop-painiketta 3
ja vedä pistoke pistorasiasta.
Ennen ensimmäistä käyttöä
■ Kytke leivänpaahdin päälle kolme 3 kertaa ilman paahdettavaa leipää ja
säädä maksimaalinen paahtoasetus (7).
■ Puhdista leivänpaahdin sen jälkeen luvussa ”Puhdistus” kuvatulla tavalla.

Käyttöpainike 2 lukittuu päälle vain, kun virtajohto on liitetty virtalähtee-

seen.
► Ensimmäisellä käyttökerralla saattaa syntyä hieman hajua (lisäksi voi
kehittyä hieman savua). Tämä on normaalia ja häviää lyhyen ajan
päästä. Huolehdi aina riittävästä tuuletuksesta. Avaa esimerkiksi ikkuna.

Käyttö
Paahtoasteen säätäminen
Paahtoastetta voidaan säätää portaattomasti ”vaaleasta” (1) ”tummaan” (7)
paahtoasetuksen säätimellä 6.
OHJE
Huomaa, että leivän ruskistuminen riippuu aina leivänpaahtimen täytöstä,
►
vaikka paahtoasetuksen säädin 6 olisi samalla teholla! Mitä vähemmän
leipäviipaleita paahtimeen asetetaan, sitä enemmän leipä ruskistuu. Aseta
siksi paahtoasetuksen säädin 6 aina hieman pienemmälle, jos laitat paah-
timeen vain vähän leipää.
Paahtaminen
HUOMIO - PALOVAARA!
Älä peitä paahtimen paahtoaukkoja 9 käytön aikana. On olemassa
►
tulipalon vaara! Laite voi vaurioitua lopullisesti!
1) Kun olet valinnut haluamasi paahtoasteen, laita leipä paahtoaukkoon 9.
2) Paina käyttöpainike 2 alas. Automaattinen leivänkeskitys keskittää paahto-
aukkoon 9 laitetun leipäviipaleen.
3) Kun haluttu paahtoaste on saavutettu, paahdin sammuu automaattisesti ja
leipäviipaleet ponnahtavat ylös.
Paahtamisen keskeyttäminen

Jos haluat keskeyttää paahtamisen, paina Stop-painiketta 3 .
Leivänpaahdin kytkeytyy pois päältä ja leipäviipaleet ponnahtavat ylös.
Lämmittäminen
Lämmitystoiminnolla on mahdollista lämmittää leipä sitä ruskistamatta. Esimerkiksi
jos paahdettu leipä halutaan lämmittää uudelleen. Leipää lämmitetään vain
lyhyesti.
1) Aseta paahtoleipä telineelle ja paina käyttöpainike 2 alas.
2) Paina lämmityspainiketta
3) Kun leipä on sulatettu ja paahdettu, leivänpaahdin kytkeytyy automaattisesti

Sulattaminen
Sulatuspainikkeella 5 voidaan sulattaa ja paahtaa pakastettu paahtoleipä.
Leivänpaahdin lämmittää tällöin leipää hitaasti.

1) Kun olet valinnut haluamasi paahtoasteen, laita leipä paahtoaukkoon 9.
2) Paina käyttöpainike 2 alas.

4) Kun leipä on sulatettu ja paahdettu, leivänpaahdin kytkeytyy automaattisesti
päältä, sulatuspainikkeen 5 valo sammuu, ja leipäviipaleet ponnahtavat
ylös.
5. Sulatuspainikkeessa 5 oleva valo palaa.
Sämpylöiden lämmittäminen rapeiksi
Älä koskaan aseta sämpylöitä suoraan paahtimen päälle, vaan käytä aina
sämpylätelinettä 1.
1) Paina sämpylätelineen painiketta 8 alaspäin, kunnes teline on kokonaan
ulkona.
2) Aseta sämpylät telineen päälle ja aloita paahtaminen. Säädä paahtoasteen
säädin 6 enintään teholle III. Leivän ruskistuminen voi vaihdella leivän
koostumuksesta ja muodosta riippuen.
OHJE
Aseta sämpylät sämpylätelineelle 1 siten, etteivät ne putoa sämpyläteli-
►
neen 1 lävitse.
► Sämpylät ovat erittäin kuumia paahtamisen jälkeen.
3) Kun paahdin sammuu, käännä sämpylä toisinpäin ja kytke paahdin uudelleen
päälle.
4) Kun et enää tarvitse sämpylätelinettä 1, siirrä sämpyläteline 1 takaisin
lähtöasemaansa työntämällä sämpylätelineen painike 8 jälleen ylös.

Murulaatikko
Paahdettaessa putoavat muruset kerääntyvät murulaatikkoon 7.
1) Murut poistetaan vetämällä murulaatikko 7 ulos laitteen sivusta.
2) Poista leivänmurut.
3) Työnnä murulaatikko 7 takaisin leivänpaahtimeen.
Puhdistaminen

Irrota pistoke pistorasiasta, ennen kuin puhdistat laitteen.

Hävittäminen
Älä missään tapauksessa hävitä laitetta tavallisen kotitalousjätteen mukana.
Tämä tuote on eurooppalaisen sähkö- ja elektroniikkajätettä
koskevan direktiivin 2012/19/EU (WEEE) alainen.
Anna laite valtuutetun jätehuoltoyrityksen tai kunnallisen jätehuoltolaitoksen hävitettäväksi. Noudata voimassa olevia määräyksiä. Ota epäselvissä tapauksissa
yhteyttä paikalliseen jätehuoltolaitokseen.
Takuu ja huolto
Laitteen takuu on 3 vuotta ostopäivästä. Laite on valmistettu huolella ja tarkastettu
perusteellisesti ennen toimitusta.
Säilytä ostokuitti todisteeksi ostosta. Ota takuutapauksessa puhelimitse yhteyttä
lähimpään huoltopisteeseen. Vain näin voimme taata, että tuotteesi toimittaminen
huoltoon on maksutonta.

Takuu koskee ainoastaan materiaali- ja valmistusvirheitä, ei kuitenkaan

tai akkujen vaurioita.

valtuutetun huoltopisteen suorittamat korjaukset aiheuttavat takuun raukeamisen.
Tämä takuu ei rajoita kuluttajan lakisääteisiä oikeuksia. Takuukorjaus ei pidennä
takuuaikaa. Tämä koskee myös vaihdettuja ja korjattuja osia.
Mahdollisesti jo ostettaessa olemassa olevista vaurioista ja puutteista on ilmoitettava välittömästi pakkauksen avaamisen jälkeen, viimeistään kuitenkin kahden
päivän sisällä ostopäiväyksestä.
