Safety Notes

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save these instructions.

This vacuum cleaner is not intended for use by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge. Otherwise, there is a danger of operating errors and injuries.

Supervise children. This will ensure that children do not play with the vacuum cleaner.

Do not vacuum dust from beech or oak wood, masonry dust or asbestos. These materials are considered carcinogenic.

WARNING Use the vacuum cleaner only after having received sufficient information on

the usage of the vacuum cleaner, the materials to be vacuumed and their safe disposal. A thorough introduction reduces operating errors and injuries.

WARNING The vacuum cleaner is suitable for vacuuming dry materials and, by taking

suitable measures, also for vacuuming liquids. The penetration of liquids increases the risk of an electric shock.

Do not vacuum inflammable or explosive fluids; for example, benzene, oil, alcohol, solvents. Do not vacuum hot or burning dust. Do not operate the machine in rooms where the danger of an explosion exists. The dusts, vapours or fluids can ignite or explode.

WARNING Use the socket only for the purposes specified in the operating instructions.

WARNING Switch the vacuum cleaner off immediately as soon as foam or water comes

out, and empty the container. Otherwise, the vacuum cleaner can become damaged.

The vacuum cleaner may only be

used and stored indoors. The penetration of rain or moisture into the vacuum cleaner lid increases the risk of an electric shock.

Clean the filling-level sensors for liquids at regular intervals, and check

them for damage. Otherwise, their function can be impaired.

English | 3

Clean the float at regular intervals, and check it for damage. Otherwise,

its function can be impaired. (see Fig. 14, page 45–47)

When operating the vacuum cleaner in damp environments, use a residual current device (RCD). Using a residual current device (RCD) reduces the risk of an electric shock.

Connect the vacuum cleaner to a properly earthed mains supply. The socket outlet and the extension cable must have an operative protective conductor.

Before each use, check the vacuum cleaner, cable and plug. Do not use the vacuum cleaner when defects are detected. Do not open the vacuum cleaner yourself and have it repaired only by qualified personnel using original spare parts. Damaged vacuum cleaner, cables and plugs increase the risk of an electric shock.

Do not drive over, crush or stretch the cable. Do not pull the cable to unplug the plug from the socket outlet or to move the vacuum cleaner. Damaged cables increase the risk of an electric shock.

Before maintaining or cleaning the vacuum cleaner, making any adjustments, changing accessories or placing the vacuum cleaner aside, remove the plug from the socket outlet. This safety measure prevents accidental starting of the vacuum cleaner.

Provide for good ventilation at the working place.

Have the vacuum cleaner repaired only through qualified specialists and only using original spare parts. This ensures that the safety of your vacuum cleaner is maintained.

WARNING The vacuum cleaner contains materials that are hazardous to one’s health.

Have the emptying and maintenance, incl. the disposal of dust-collection containers, carried out only by specialists. Appropriate protective equipment is required. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner without the complete filter system. Otherwise there is danger to your own health.

Before restarting, check the proper condition of the vacuum hose. When doing this, leave the vacuum hose mounted to the vacuum cleaner to prevent dust from coming out. Otherwise, you could possibly inhale dust.

Do not use the vacuum cleaner as a seat. The vacuum cleaner could become damaged.

Use the mains cable and the vacuum hose carefully.

Other persons could be harmed.

Do not clean the vacuum cleaner with a water jet pointed directly at it. The penetration of water into the vacuum cleaner lid increases the risk of an electric shock.

Products sold in GB only: Your product is fitted with a BS 1363/A approved electric plug with internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362).

If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an authorised customer service agent. The replacement plug should have the same fuse rating as the original plug.

Additional Safety and Working

Instructions

Observe the mains voltage! The voltage of the power source must correspond with the data on the type plate of the vacuum cleaner.

Please inform yourself about the valid regulations/laws for your country concerning the handling of materials that are hazardous to one’s health.

For dry vacuuming, a dust bag should be inserted. When using a dust bag, the folded filter remains unclogged longer, the vacuuming performance is maintained longer, and the disposal of dust is made easier.

Remove the dust bag and empty the container before wet vacuuming.

The vacuum cleaner has a blower function. Do not blow the outgoing air randomly in enclosed areas. Use the blower function only with the a clean hose. Dusts can be hazardous to one’s health.

After vacuuming, remove the folded filter to prevent the forming of mould and allow it to dry thoroughly; especially before using it for dry vacuuming.

Operate the vacuum cleaner only with the folded filter mounted.

A socket outlet with earthing contact is integrated in the vacuum cleaner. An external power tool can be connected there. The vacuum cleaner is automatically put into operation via the power tool. Observe the maximal allowable load of the connected power tool.

The vacuum cleaner may not be used as a water pump.

The vacuum cleaner is intended for vacuuming air and water mixtures.

Wipe out the container from time to time with a commercially available, non-scouring cleaning agent, and allow it to dry.

Troubleshooting

WARNING Switch the vacuum cleaner off immediately as soon as foam or water

comes out, and empty the container. Otherwise, the vacuum cleaner can become damaged.

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a float. When the maximum filling height is reached, the suction capacity is reduced. Set the On/Off switch to position 0and empty the container.

If the suction force is so high that the connected power tool adheres too firmly against the working surface, regulate the airflow.

When the vacuum performance decreases, activate the semi-automatic filter cleaning.

Maintenance and Cleaning

For safe and proper working, always keep the vacuum cleaner and ventilation slots clean.

A dust-technical inspection is to be carried out at least once every year by the manufacturer or an instructed person, e. g. for damage of the filter, tightness against leakage of the vacuum cleaner and function of the control/monitoring unit.

For category L vacuum cleaners that were in contaminated environments, the exterior as well as all machine parts should be cleaned or treated with sealants. When performing maintenance and repair work, all contaminated components that cannot be cleaned to satisfactory must be disposed of. Such components must be disposed of in impermeable plastic bags conforming with the valid regulations for the disposal of such waste.

For maintenance on behalf of the user, the vacuum cleaner must be disassembled, cleaned and maintained as far as feasible, without causing a risk for the maintenance personnel or other persons. Prior to disassembly, the vacuum cleaner should be cleaned in order to prevent any risks. The room/enclosure in which the vacuum cleaner is disassembled should be well ventilated. Wear personal protective equipment during maintenance. After the maintenance, the maintenance area should be cleaned.

If the vacuum cleaner should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an after-sales service centre for Bosch power tools.

If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by Bosch or an authorized Bosch service agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
