Intended use

This device allows you to connect three source devices (e.g. SAT
receiver, Blu-ray player or HD camera) with an HDMI connection
of your television or beamer. It is not possible to distribute a source
device to three output devices, since only one output device can be
connected. This device is exclusively intended for non-commercial use.
The device is not intended for any other use or for uses extending
beyond those stated. Claims of any kind for damage arising as a
result of non-intended use are excluded. The user is the sole bearer
of the risk.
Safety
This section provides you with important safety information regarding
the handling of the device. The device complies with statutory safety
regulations. Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and property
damage.
Basic safety instructions
For safe handling of the device, follow the safety instructions below:
■ Before use, check the device for visible external damage. Do not
start up a damaged device or one that has been dropped.
■ Damaged cables or connections should be replaced by the
customer service department.
■ Always take hold of the connection cable by the plug. Do not pull
on the cable itself and never touch the connection cable with wet
hands, this could result in either a short circuit or you receiving an
electric shock.
■ Do not place objects, furniture or similar items on the connection
cable and ensure that it cannot become trapped.

Never make a knot in the connection cable and do not bind it

together with other cables. The connection cable should be
routed in such a way that it cannot be stepped on.
■ This device is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with limited physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or lack
of experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a
person who is responsible for their safety, or receive instructions
from this person on how to use the device.
■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the device.
■ Only have repairs carried out by authorised specialist companies
or the customer service. Improper repairs can pose signifi cant
risks to the user. Warranty claims also become void.
■ Repairs to the device during the warranty period may only be
carried out by a customer service department authorised by the
manufacturer. Otherwise no additional warranty claims can be
considered for subsequent damage.
■ Defective components may only be replaced with original replace-
ment parts. Only by using original replacement parts can it be
guaranteed that safety requirements are being complied with.
■ Do not make any unauthorised modifi cations or alterations to
the device.
■ Do not operate the device close to open fl ames.
■ Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration. Do not place
any liquid-fi lled vessels (such as fl ower vases) next to the device.

Disposal of packaging
The packaging protects the device from transport damage.
The packaging materials have been selected in accordance with
their environmental friendliness and disposal attributes, and are
therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit
saves on raw material and reduces the amount of waste
generated. Dispose of packaging material that is no
longer needed in accordance with applicable local
regulations.

NOTE
If possible, keep the device's original packaging during the

warranty period so that the device can be properly packed
for returning in the event of a warranty claim.
Requirements for the setup location
For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the setup location
must fulfi l the following provisions:
■ The device must be placed on a fi rm, fl at and level surface.
■ Do not place the device in a hot, wet or extremely moist environ-
ment or close to fl ammable materials.
■ Place the device so that it is not exposed to direct sunlight.
■ Do not place the device in close proximity to magnetic fi elds
(e.g. speakers).

Handling and use

This section provides you with important information on handling and
using the device.
Connecting the HDMI changeover switch
♦ Connect the HDMI connection cable to your output device
(e.g. television or beamer).
♦ Connect your source devices (e.g. SAT receiver, DVD player
or games console) to the HDMI input sockets 4. Use a highspeed HDMI connection cable to obtain optimum video and
audio quality.
NOTE
If you connect a source device with 3D content (e.g. a
►
Blu-ray player) to the HDMI changeover switch, always
use a high-speed HDMI connection cable.

Using the HDMI changeover switch
♦ Switch your output device (e.g. television or beamer) on and
activate the HDMI input to which the HDMI changeover switch
is connected. To do this, follow the operating instructions for
the output device.
♦ Switch on the source device that you wish to use. The HDMI
changeover switch automatically changes over to the relevant
channel. The channel that has been selected (1, 2 or 3) is
indicated by the relevant channel LED 2.
♦ Press SELECT 3 to select a channel manually. Each press of
the SELECT button switches the channel to the next switched-on
source device in descending order.
NOTE
If a source device is switched off , the HDMI changeover
►
switch automatically switches to the next source device that
is switched on in descending order
► Some source devices also output a signal on the HDMI output
when they are in standby. It is therefore possible that the automatic changeover will not always take place. In this case a
manual changeover is required.

Do not dispose of the device in your normal
domestic waste. This product is subject to
the provisions of European Directive
2002/96/EC-WEEE (Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the device through an approved disposal
centre or at your community waste facility. Please
observe the currently applicable regulations. Please
contact your waste disposal centre should you be in
any doubt.
