FEATURES

Your Radio Shack Wireless Phone Jack System lets you add a telephone jack anywhere you have an AC outlet, without drilling holes, soldering, squeezing into cramped attic spaces, or fishing a single wire through the wall.

The system also has these features:

Security Coding — prevents someone using a similar system from using your phone line.

Computer Modem Compatibility — works with modems up to 14,400 bps.

Additional Extensions Available — lets you add as many extension units (Radio Shack Cat. No. 43-161) as you desire.

Your system includes a base unit, an extension unit, and a 6-foot modular telephone line cord.

Follow the simple instructions provided in this manual to install your jack.

Notes:

You can only use the Wireless Phone Jack System on one phone line.

During a power failure, only the telephone plugged into the base works.

Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or shock hazard, do not expose this product to rain or moisture.

This system should never be placed near or over a heat radiator or register. This system should not be placed in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.

This system should only be operated from the type of power source indicated in this manual and on the system’s label. If you are not sure of the type of power supplied to your home or building, consult your local Radio Shack store or the local power company.

Never spill liquid of any kind on the system.

A.When the AC plug is damaged

B.If liquid has been spilled into the system

C.If the system has been exposed to rain or water

FCC INFORMATION

We have designed your Wireless Phone Jack System to conform to federal regulations, and you can connect it to most telephone lines. However, each device that you connect to the phone line draws power from it. We refer to this power draw as the device’s Ringer Equivalence Number, or REN (the REN is shown on the base unit’s label).

If you are using more than one phone or other device on the line, add up all the RENs. If the total is more than five, your phones might not ring. In rural areas, a total REN of three might impair ringer operation. If ringer operation is impaired, disconnect one of the devices from the line.

Your Wireless Phone Jack System has a REN of 0.7dB; therefore, it should not affect your phones’ ability to ring. Also, the phone you plug into the extension unit does not place any load on the telephone line. However, the phone you plug into the base unit might affect your phones’ ability to ring.

In the unlikely event that your Wireless Phone Jack System causes problems on the phone line, the phone company can temporarily discontinue your service. If this happens, the phone company attempts to notify you in advance. If advance notice is not practical, the phone company notifies you as soon as possible and advises you of your right to file a complaint with the FCC.

Also, the phone company can make changes to its lines, equipment, operations, or procedures that could affect the operation of this system. The telephone company notifies you of these changes in advance, so you can take the necessary steps to prevent interruption of your telephone service.
