Connecting the power supply

Connect the 24 VDC power supply to the power terminal of the N-L1.
Method of using the RESET/RUN switch
RESET For setting the N-L1 such as IP addresses, set it to the RESET side.
RUN To switch to the run mode, set it to the RUN side.

Initial settings of the N-L1

When the N-L1 is turned on with the RESET switch set to ON, the initial settings of the Ethernet is as follows:
IP address 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 0.0.0.0

Using a power supply other than 24 VDC may cause
product failure.
The N-L1 does not support PoE (Power over Ethernet). Be sure to supply 24 VDC power to the power terminal.
The dimensions of crimp contacts used for wiring should be as follows:

Installing the N-L1 to the DIN rail

Installation precautions

When installing the N-L1, do not block the ventilation slots on the
top and bottom of the unit. Otherwise, heat builds up inside the unit, causing product failure.
If the temperature of the N-L1 will foreseeable exceed the upper
limit of the operating temperature (50°C), take the appropriate measures such as performing forced air cooling or ensuring proper ventilation so that the temperature does not exceed the upper limit of the normal operating temperature (50°C).

Installing and removing the N-L1 to and from the DIN rail

Installing the N-L1 to the DIN rail
1 Lower the mounting tab on the back of the N-L1.
Check that the mounting tab is placed in the position shown in the following diagram.

Wiring the Ethernet port

Use a “straight cable” to connect the N-L1 to the hub; use a “crossover cable” to connect it to the personal computer directly.
* Use a cable of category 5 or higher. (Both STP and UTP can be used) * The extended length must not exceed 100 m.
The N-L1 does not support PoE (Power over Ethernet). Be sure to supply 24V DC power to the power terminal.

Installing the N-L1

Surrounding space

Install the N-L1 vertically.
When the installation direction changes, provide adequate surrounding space so that heat does not build up.
For ventilation, maintain a space of 50mm
or more from the top and bottom of the N­L1. As long as the N-L1 is the only source of heat generation, the N-L1 can be installed without space on the right and left sides. Provide a space of 80 mm or more in front of the N-L1 to connect the BL head.
2 Install the N-L1 to the DIN rail as shown in the following
diagram.

Any Products found to be defective must be shipped to KEYENCE with all shipping costs paid by Buyer or offered to KEYENCE for inspection and examination.
