Safety advice

This safety advice is an important part of these operating instructions and must be observed every time electrical devices are used. The advice and instructions will help you to avoid risk to life, accidents and damage to property. Therefore you must read carefully through the following information concerning safety and proper use.

CHILDREN! Never leave children

 

unsupervised with the packaging materials or

 

the device. There is a risk of su ocation and

 

loss of life from electric shock. Children often un-

 

derestimate the dangers associated with electri-

 

cal devices. Always keep children away from

 

the device.

This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities or with insu cient experience and / or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or have received instruction on how to use the device from such a responsible person. Children must never be allowed to play with the device.

Keep the device away from rain or moisture. Water entering an electrical device increases the risk of electric shock.

Do not use the lead for any purpose for which it was not intended, e.g. to carry the device or to pull the plug out of the 12 V socket. Keep the lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the device. Damaged or tangled leads or plugs increase the risk of electric shock.

Damage to the device, mains lead or plug presents a risk of loss of life from electric shock. Frequently check the condition of the device, mains lead and plug.

Do not use a device with damaged parts. If a dangerous situation arises pull out the plug from the socket immediately.

replacement parts fitted at the service centre or by an electrical equipment repair specialist.

When not in use always ensure that electrical devices are kept out of reach of children. Do not let anyone use the device if he or she is not familiar with it or has not read the instructions and advice. Electrical devices are dangerous when they are used by inexperienced people.

Operation

Before first use

Take all the parts carefully out of the packaging and remove all the packaging material. Dispose of all the packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner.

Fully unwind the lead attached to the 12 V plug 3 .

Note: Always make sure that the dust filter 11 is installed before you use the device.

Fitting and removing attachments

Extension hose 5 :

Insert the smaller end of the extension hose 5 snugly into the front nozzle 4 .

Insert the desired attachment 6 7 8 snugly into the extension hose 5 .

Large brush 6 :

Use this attachment e.g. for cleaning larger surfaces such as seats or car mats.

Insert the large brush 6 snugly into the front nozzle 4 . You can also use the large brush 6 in combination with the extension hose 5 as described above.

Small brush 7 :

This attachment has harder bristles and is therefore very suitable for loosening stubborn dirt, e.g. on the upholstery or in the footwells, before vacuuming it away, see Fig. D.

Insert the small brush 7 snugly into the front nozzle 4 .

Crevice tool 8 :

Use this attachment to get into narrow, di cult-to- access places.

Insert the crevice tool 8 snugly into the front nozzle 4 .

Removing attachments:

Simply pull the attachment off the front nozzle 4 or the extension hose 5 .

Insert the 12 V plug

 

into the 12 V socket /

cigarette lighter socket of the vehicle, see Fig. C.

To switch the device on, press the ON / OFF

switch 2 forwards into the ON position.

To switch the device o , press the ON / OFF

switch 2 back into the OFF position.

Pull the 12 V plug 3 out of the 12 V socket after use.

Tip: If you going to vacuum for a long period, we recommend that you carry out the cleaning with the engine running.

For the best possible performance, you should empty the dust container 10 immediately after use and when the suction power drops.

Press the unlocking button 1 and take the dust container 10 out of the housing 12 .

Take out the dust filter 11 . You will be able to clean the dust filter better if you detach it from the end seal. To do this, hold the end seal firmly and twist the filter o carefully anticlockwise (bayonet fitting). Rinse out the dust filter 11 thoroughly in cold water and allow both parts (filter and end seal) to dry completely. Attach the filter back on to the end seal.

Empty the dust container 10 completely.

Carefully replace the dust filter 11 back into the dust container 10 . Never use the vacuum cleaner without the dust filter 11 in place.

Attach the dust container 10 carefully back on to the housing 12 and ensure the two parts engage.

Clean all the housing with a soft, dry cloth. Never use liquids or cleaning agents, as they may damage the device.

ATTENTION! The front nozzle 4 must be free and unobstructed at all times. Blockages can lead to overheating and damage to the motor.

Fastening the storage bag to a surface in your car boot

You can fasten the storage bag 9 in a suitable place, e.g. in the boot of your car. To do this, press the bag lightly against a suitable textile surface in your vehicle, for example the back of the rear seats. The storage bag 9 is held in place by two hook and loop fastening strips.

Servicing and cleaning

The device requires no maintenance.

ATTENTION! Before you clean the device

itself, pull the 12 V plug 3 out of the 12 V socket, otherwise there Is a risk of electric shock.

Disposal

The packaging is composed of environ- mentally-friendly materials that can be disposed of at a local recycling centre.

Do not dispose of electrical devices with the household rubbish!

In accordance with European Directive 2002 / 96 / EC, worn out electrical devices must be collected separately and taken for environmentally compatible recycling.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn out electrical devices.

Warranty and Service

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our Service Department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.

The warranty covers only claims for material and maufacturing defects, but not for transport damage, for wearing parts or for damage to fragile components, e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial use.

The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorized service branch. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.

The warranty period will not be extended by repairs made unter warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired parts. Any damage and defects extant on purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking the appliance, at the latest, two days after the purchase date. Repairs made after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to payment.
