Digital TV notice
1. Functionalities r elated to Digital TV (DVB) ar e only available in countri es/areas where DVB-T (M PEG2 and MPEG4 AVC) digital terrestrial signal s are
broadcasted or w here you are able to ac cess to a compatible DVB-C (MP EG2 and MPEG4 AAC) cable-TV se rvice. Please check with your local
dealer the possibili ty to receive DVB-T or DVB -C signal.
2. DVB-T is the DVB Eur opean consortium standar d for the broadcast trans mission of digital terrestr ial television and DVB-C is th at for the broadcast
transmission of digi tal TV over cable. However , some diffe rentiated features like EPG (Electric Programme G uide), VOD (Video On Demand) and so
on, are not incl uded in this specification. So, they cannot be workable at th is moment.
3. Although this TV set meets the latest DVB-T and DV B-C standards, as of [Augu st, 2008], the compatibility w ith future DVB-T digital te rrestrial and
DVB-C digital cable broadcasts cannot be guara nteed.
4. Depending on the cou ntries/areas where thi s TV set is used some cable-TV providers may charge an ad ditional fee for such a servic e and you may
be required to agree to terms and condi tions of their business.
5. Some Digital TV func tions might be unavailable in some countries or regions and DVB-C might not work corr ectly with some cable servic e providers.

The reception qu ality of TV may be affecte d due to differences in broadcasting method betwee n the countries. Please check the TV
performance in the l ocal SAMSUNG Authorized Dealer , or the Sa msung Call Centre whether i t can be improved by re configuring TV setting or

User Instructions
• Screen Image r etention
Do not display a sti ll image (such as on a video g ame) on the plasma display pan el for more than several m inutes as it can cause scre en image
retention. This image retention is also kn own as “screen burn”. T o avoid such ima ge retention, reduce t he degree of brightness and contrast of the
screen when disp laying a still image.
• Heat on the top of t he Plasma TV
The top side of the product may be hot after l ong periods of use as heat dis sipates from the panel thr ough the vent hole in the u pper part of the
product.
This is normal and d oes not indicate any defect or operation failure of the product.
However , children should be prevented from touching the upper part of the pro duct.
• The product is m aking a “cracking” noise.
A “cracking” noise m ay occur when the product contracts or expands due to a change in the surrounding e nvironment such as tempera ture or
humidity. This is no rmal and not a defect of the u nit.
• Cell Defects
The PDP uses a panel consisting of 2,360,000(HD-le vel) to 6,221,000(FHD-level) p ixels which require sop histicated technology to pr oduce. However ,
there may be a f ew bright or dark pixels on th e screen. These pixels will have no impact on the perform ance of the product.
• Avoid operating the TV at temperatures bel ow 41°F (5°C)
• A still image displa yed too long may cause permane nt damage to the PDP Panel.
Watching the Plasma TV in 4:3 format for a long period of time may leave traces of borders displaye d on the left, right and centr e of
the screen cause d by the difference of light emission on the scre en. Playing a DVD or a game con sole may cause similar eff ects to
the screen.
Damages caused by th e above effect are not covered by the Warr anty.
• After-ima ges on the Screen.
Displaying still ima ges from Video games and PC for longer than a certain per iod of time may produce par tial after-images.
T o prevent this effe ct, reduce the “brightness” and “contrast” when displayin g still images for a long time .
• Warranty
Warranty doe s not cover any damage caused by image retention.
Burn-in is not cover ed by the warranty.

Connecting to a COMMON INTERFACE slot
Using the “CI or CI+ CARD”
T o watch paid channels, the “CI or CI+ CARD” must be inserted.
• If you don’t insert the “CI or CI+ CARD”, some channels will
display the message “Scrambled Signal”.
• The pairing information containing a telephone number , the
“CI or CI+ CARD” ID the Host ID and other information will
be displayed in about 2~3 minutes. If an error message is
displayed, please contact your service provider .
• When the configuration of channel information has finished,
the message “Updating Completed” is displayed, indicating
the channel list is updated.

If you have any questions about the TV , first refer to this list. If none of these troubleshooting tips apply, please

Issues Solutions and Explanations
The TV won’t turn on . • Make sure the AC power cord is securely plugged in to the wall outlet and the TV .
• Make sure the wa ll outlet is working.
• T ry pressing the POWER butto n on the TV to make sure t he problem is not the r emote. If the TV turns
on, refer to “Re mote control does not work ” below.
There is no pict ure/video. • Check cable conne ctions (remove and reco nnect all cables connected to t he TV and external
devices).
• Set your external devic e’s (Cab le/Sat Box, DVD, Blu-ray etc) video outputs to match the con nections
to the TV input. For example, if an external device’ s output is HDMI, it should be connecte d to an
HDMI input on the TV .
• Make sure your c onnected devices are power ed on.
• Be sure to selec t the TV’ s correct source by pr essing the SOURCE button o n the remote control.
The remote contr ol does not work. • Replace the remo te control batteries with the poles (+/–) in the right di rection.
• Clean the sensor’ s transmis sion window on the remote.
• T ry pointing the remote dir ectly at the TV from 5~6 feet away.
The cable/set top bo x remote control
doesn’t turn the TV on or off, or adjust the
volume.
• Programme the Ca ble/Set remote control to operate the TV . Refer to the Ca ble/Set user manual for
the SAMSUNG TV code.

Securing the TV to the wall
Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing onto the TV may cause the TV to fall. In particular , ensure
that your children do not hang over or destabilize the TV ; doing so may cause the TV to tip over,
resulting in serious injuries or death. Follow all safety precautions provided in the included Safety
Flyer . For added stability and safety, install the anti-fall device as follows.
T o Avoid the TV from Falling
1. Put the screws into the clamps and firmly fasten them onto the wall.
Confirm that the screws have been firmly installed onto the wall.

2. Remove the screws from the back centre of the TV , put the screws into
the clamps, and then fasten the screws onto the TV again.

3. Connect the clamps fixed onto the TV and the clamps fixed onto the wall
with a strong cable and then tie the string tightly.

Benutzerhinweise
• Einbrennen von Standbildern
Lassen Sie Standbild er (z.B. von einem Videospiel) auf dem Plasmamonitor höchste ns einige Minuten lang anzeige n, da das Bild anderenfalls einbrennen
kann. Das Einbre nnen von Standbildern wird auc h als „Bildkonservierung“ beze ichnet. Sie können das Einbr ennen vermeiden, indem Sie di e Helligkeit und den
Kontrast des Bildsch irms beim Anzeigen von Standbi ldern verringern.
• Wärmeentwi cklung auf der Oberseite des P lasmabildschirms
Die Oberseite des Pr odukts kann nach länger em Betrieb warm werden, da die Wärme aus dem Moni tor über die Entlüftungsöf fnung im oberen T eil des Geräts
abgeführt wird.
Dies ist normal und weist nicht auf einen Defekt o der eine Fehlfunktion des Gerä ts hin.
Allerdings sollt en Kinder von dem oberen T eil des Geräts ferngehalten werden.
• Das Gerät verursac ht ein „knackendes“ Geräusch.
Ein „knackendes“ Ger äusch entsteht, wenn das Gerät ematerial sich aufgrund einer Änderung der Umgebung, wie z. B. Tempe raturschwankungen oder
Änderung der Luftfeu chtigkeit, zusammenzieht oder ausdehnt. Das ist normal und s tellt keinen Defekt des Geräts dar.
• Pixelfehler
Der Plasmabildschirm , für dessen Herstellung hoch entwickelte T echnologie eingesetzt wir d, besitzt eine Bildfläche mit 2.360.000 (bei HD-Auflösung ) bis
6.221.000 (bei Full- HD-Auflösung) Pixeln. Aller dings können ein paar zu helle oder zu dunkle Pixel auf der Bildfläche zu sehen sein. Diese Pixelfehler haben
keinen Einfluss auf d ie Geräteleistung.
• Vermeid en Sie den Betrieb des Plasmab ildschirms bei T emperaturen unter 5°C.
• Ein Standbild, das s zu lange angezeigt wird, kann zu einer bleibenden Besc hädigung des Plasmabildschirms führen.
Der Betrieb des Plas mafernsehers im Format 4:3 für ei nen längeren Zeitraum kann links, rechts und in der M itte des Monitors Spuren de r
Bildränder hinterlas sen, die durch die untersc hiedliche Lichtemission auf de m Monitor verursacht werden . Durch die Wiedergabe einer DV D
oder den Betrieb ein er Spielkonsole kann es auf de m Bildschirm zu ähnlichen Ef fekten kommen.
Schäden, die dur ch die o.g. Effekte verur sacht wurden, fallen nicht unter die Garantie.
• Nachbilder auf dem Bildschirm.
Durch das Anzeig en der Standbilder von Videospi elen oder vom PC über einen ge wissen Zeitraum hinaus können p artielle Nachbilder entstehen.
Um diesen Effekt zu verhindern, verringern Sie Hellig keit und Kontrast, wenn Sie St andbilder für einen längere n Zeitraum anzeigen möchten.
• Garantie
Durch diese Gara ntie nicht abgedeckt sind Schä den, die durch das Einbr ennen von Bildern entstehen.

Standby-Modus
Der Standby-Modus ist nicht für längere Phasen der Abwesenheit gedacht (z.B. wenn Sie verreist sind). Eine kleine Menge
Strom wird auch dann noch verbraucht, wenn das Gerät mit dem Netzschalter ausgeschaltet wurde. Es ist am besten, das
Netzkabel aus der Steckdose zu ziehen.
Absichern des Aufstellbereichs
Halten Sie die erforderlichen Abstände zwischen dem Gerät und anderen Objekten (z.B. Wänden) ein, um ausr eichende
Lüftung sicherzustellen.
