Model: AVR-2106, AVR-1707, AVR-1907, AVR-1507, AVR-886, AVR-787,

AVR-687, AVR-587, AVR-487

Subject: Countermeasure for improving the functionality of the UNIVERSAL®

REMOTE CONTROL (MRF350).

Countermeasure is only for a claim from the customer.

Symptom: When controlling the Denon AVR receiver with the MRF-350 (BASE STATION) and MX-900 (Remote Control) manufactured by UNIVERSAL® REMOTE CONTROL, the UP/DOWN operation of the Volume Control will stop if the VOL UP/DOWN Button is hit frequently or continuously. The malfunction is due to a bug in the AVR MICON.

Solution: 1) For the models AVR-886 and AVR-2106:

Replace IC201 with the new MICON. (You cannot rewrite the software since it is not a Flash type MICON.) The Version of the MICON firmware after replacement is: XM45

2) For the models AVR-787, AVR-687, AVR-587, AVR-487, AVR-1507, AVR-

1707 and AVR-1907:

Rewrite the MICON software using the improved MICON Program.
