Before Playing

Inserting Batteries

Remove the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the instrument and insert six 1.5V SUM-2 (AM-2), R-14 (LR14), "C" size or equivalent batteries (sold separately), making sure that the polarities are placed as directed on the inside of the compartment. Replace the cover, ensuring that it locks securely in place.

Optional Power Adaptors

Power Adaptor PA-3/PA-4/PA-40 is available for household current. No other adaptor is usable, so when you purchase a power adaptor please ensure that it is the correct model.

For An Even Bigger Sound

Although you'll be happy with the sound from the built-in speaker, you can get an even more satisfying sound if you connect the SHS-200 to a bigger speaker. Try using your stereo system.

Optionaler Netzadapter

Demonstration

To give you an idea of what the versatile

SHS-200 can do, a demonstration has been included so you can hear some of the many exciting sounds it can produce.

1. Switch On

How To Use The	Einsatz des	Utilisation de la

The SHS-200 offers a selection of 49 fabulous FM voices, which can be selected and played as follows.

1. Set The Voice Mode

Simply press the VOICE selector @ in the

Voice/Style Select section to set the voice selection mode.

Note:

When the power is switched on and this mode is selected, the Synth Brass voice is automatically selected and the LED indicator displays "00".

2. Select A Voice

Input the voice number you want using the Voice/Style Number selectors ®. The number you choose will appear on the

LED indicator @.

Two digits must be entered to select a voice (e.g. to input voice number "53", press "5" and then "3").

Try playing a melody you are familiar with; the notes will be produced by the selected voice.

•in this mode, you can play up to six notes simultaneously.

Note:

If you hear no sound when playing, you may have pressed one of the MODE selectors by mistake prior to selecting a voice. If this happens, press the NORMAL selector ®.

4. Adding Sustain

If you press and hold the SUSTAIN selector notes will linger after you lift your fingers from the keys.

•Sustain will be added to each note played.

5. Stereo Symphonic

This feature adds an expansive effect to each voice. Stereo Symphonic is automatically selected when the power is switched on; you can cancel it by pressing the STEREO SYMPHONIC ON/OFF selector ®.

7.Adding More Effects

Pitch Bend

The PITCH BEND effect lets you bend the pitch of a note much like the choking technique of the guitarist. Simply move the PITCH BEND WHEEL (g) and the note you are playing will be affected; move the wheel backward to raise the pitch, forward to lower it.

•The pitch bend level can be changed. Move the PITCH BEND WHEEL (§) to its limit in the up or down direction, then press the "+" PARAMETER LEVEL selector (g) to. increase the level, or the

selector to decrease it.

Pitch Bend

Courbure du ton

Flexión de diapasón

El efecto de flexión del diapasón le permitirá flexionar el diapasón de una nota de forma parecida a la técnica de sofocamiento de notas de un guitarrista. Simplemente mueva la rueda de flexión del diapasón ® y la nota que esté tocando se verá afectada; mueva la rueda hacia atrás para umentar el diapasón y hacia adelante para disminuirlo.
