Power supply/Power cord

Do not place the power cord near heat sources such as heaters or radiators, and do not excessively bend or otherwise damage the cord, place heavy objects on it, or place it in a position where anyone could walk on, trip over, or roll anything over it.

Only use the voltage specified as correct for the product. The required voltage is printed on the name plate of the product.

Use only the supplied power cord/plug.

If you intend to use the product in an area other than in the one you purchased, the included power cord may not be compatible. Please check with your Yamaha dealer.

Check the electric plug periodically and remove any dirt or dust which may have accumulated on it.

Make sure to fully insert the electric plug to prevent electric shocks or fire.

When setting up the product, make sure that the AC outlet you are using is easily accessible. If some trouble or malfunction occurs, immediately turn off the power switch and disconnect the plug from the outlet. Even when the power switch is turned off, as long as the power cord is not unplugged from the wall AC outlet, the product will not be disconnected from the power source.

Remove the electric plug from the outlet when the product is not to be used for extended periods of time.

Do not touch the product or the electric plug during an electrical storm.

PA_en_11 1/2

Be sure to connect to an appropriate outlet with a protective grounding connection. Improper grounding can result in electrical shock, fire, or damage.

Do not open

This product contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to disassemble the internal parts or modify them in any way.

Do not expose the product to rain, use it near water or in damp or wet conditions, or place on it any containers (such as vases, bottles or glasses) containing liquids which might spill into any openings.

Never insert or remove an electric plug with wet hands.

Do not place any burning items or open flames near the product, since they may cause a fire.

Hearing loss

Before turning the power of all devices on or off, make sure that all volume levels are set to the minimum. Failing to do so may result in hearing loss, electric shock, or device damage.

When turning on the AC power in your audio system, always turn on the product LAST, to avoid hearing loss and speaker damage. When turning the power off, the product should be turned off FIRST for the same reason.

Wireless unit

Do not use this product near medical devices or inside medical facilities. Radio waves from this product may affect electro-medical devices.

1[PROTECT] LED

Lights red when the protection circuit is activated. The protection circuit will be activated in the following cases, and the speaker output will be muted.

Amplifier overheat is detected

A current surge is detected

The power to the unit is turned on: The protection circuit will be activated for a few seconds to avoid noise. After the unit is properly turned on, the LED will turn off.

If the protection circuit is activated, wait until the temperature of the amplifier section decreases. Alternatively, turn the power to the unit off and then back on. Then the protection circuit will be deactivated. If the protection circuit is not deactivated, please contact your Yamaha dealer.

2[POWER] LED

Lights green when the [I/O] (Power) switch (P) is turned on.

3[REVERB] controls (channels 1-3)

Determine the amount of reverb for each channel when the [REVERB] switch (D) is turned on.

4[EQ] controls

From the center (FLAT) position, turn these controls counterclockwise to cut the low range. Turn them clockwise to boost both low and high ranges.

5[CLIP] LEDs (channels 1-3)

Light red if signals are clipping due to excessive input levels. If these LEDs light up, lower the level of the corresponding input channels, or set the corresponding [MIC/LINE] switches to LINE.

6[LEVEL] controls

Use these controls to adjust the volume for each channel. To reduce noise, set LEVEL controls on unused channels to minimum.

7[MIC/LINE] switches

For low-level signals (including microphones), set the switches to the MIC (N) position. For high-level signals (including electronic musical instruments and audio devices), set the switches to the LINE (O) position.

8 STAGEPAS 1K Owner’s Manual

8[Hi-Z] switches (channel 2-3)

This switch is used when connecting a device directly to the mixer without a DI (direct box)—for example, instruments with passive pickups, such as an acoustic-electric guitar or electric bass without a battery. This function is effective only for the phone jack input.

9[BLUETOOTH PAIRING] switch/LED

This switch turns the Bluetooth audio connection on or off. It is also used to pair (register) a Bluetooth device (page 15).

The LED indicates the following status:

NOTE

The STAGEPAS 1K enables you to pair (register) up to eight Bluetooth devices. Once the ninth Bluetooth device has been paired successfully, the pairing information for the Bluetooth device that was connected earliest will be deleted.

A[MONO/ST MODE] switch/LED

Enables you to select whether the audio output from the speaker is monaural (MONO) or stereo (STEREO). Pressing this switch repeatedly will toggle between MONO and STEREO. If STEREO is selected, the L-channel signal of the stereo input will be output from this unit, while the R-channel signal will be output via the [LINK] output jack to the other STAGEPAS 1K.

The LED will light orange if STEREO is selected.

B[LINE] input jack

Supports stereo-mini plugs. Connect an audio device here. A signal from the Bluetooth device is always mixed to the ST IN channel.

Controls and Functions

C [MONITOR] control

Determines the signal level output from the [MONITOR] output jack (M). The [MASTER LEVEL] control does not affect this signal.

D[REVERB] switch/ LED

When this switch is on, the LED lights up, indicating that you can apply reverb (reverberation/echo).

E[REVERB TYPE/TIME] control

Determines reverb type and length. Turning the control clockwise lengthens the time of the selected reverb type.

HALL: Simulated reverb of a large space, such as a concert hall.

PLATE: Simulated steel plate reverb, producing a harder-edged and brighter sound.

ROOM: Simulated acoustic ambience of a small room.

ECHO: Echo effect suitable for vocals.

F[MODE] control

Use this control to adjust the overall sound pressure and frequency balance. The center position (MUSIC) is a basic setting. If you turn the control counterclockwise (SPEECH), it will cut unneeded low-range frequencies, and create an optimum setting for speech, or singing and playing an acoustic musical instrument. If you turn the control clockwise (CLUB), it will create an optimum setting for playback of sound sources, since the high and low ranges are boosted.

G[MASTER LEVEL] control

Determines the volume level of the signal output from the speaker and the level of the signal routed to the [LINK] output jack simultaneously. This allows you to adjust the overall volume without changing the relative volume balance among the various channels. The [LIMIT] LED lights when the limiter is applied.
