INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Write & Learn Lightboard™ learning toy!

This fun-filled Write & Learn Lightboard™ will light up your preschooler’s face as he learns to write, starting with simple shape strokes and building his skills to write letters and numbers.With the help of a bright, light-up display panel, your child will simply follow the lights to learn his very first strokes! GETTING STARTED

BATTERY INSTALLATION

1.Make sure the unit is turned OFF.

2.Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit and open it.

3. Install 4 new “AA” batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of

new, alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)

4. Close the battery cover.

BATTERY NOTICE

Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage.

Do not mix old and new batteries.

Do not use batteries of different types.

Remove exhausted or new batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.

Do not dispose of batteries in fi re.

Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.

The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.

Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.

Do not mix alkaline, standard(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickelcadmium) batteries.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.

NOTE: Please remove the demo tag, located on the bottom of the product, after the product is taken out of the package. If the demo tag is still in position when you begin play, please remove it to activate the normal play mode.

1. ON/OFF/BEGINNER LEVEL/ADVANCED LEVEL

To turn the unit on, slide the ON/OFF/Beginner Level/Advanced Level Switch to either level.

To turn the unit off, slide the ON/OFF/Beginner Level/Advanced Level Switch to the off position.

2. ACTIVITY BUTTONS

Press one of the ten ACTIVITY BUTTONS to select an activity.

3. LETTER BUTTONS

Press the 26 LETTER BUTTONS to learn letters and their stroke order or to hear a response or answer in the related activities.

4.NUMBER BUTTONS

Press the ten NUMBER BUTTONS to learn numbers and their stroke order or to hear a response or answer in the related activities.

5.FUN BUTTON

Press the FUN BUTTON to hear “The Alphabet Song” and a fun sing-along song.

6.REPEAT BUTTON

Press the repeat button to hear the last voice or music repeated.
