1. Introduction
Congratulations!
By purchasing the SilverCrest halogen heater SHH 1200 C1, hereinafter referred to as heater, you have opted for a high-quality product.
Familiarise yourself with the heater before using it for the first time, and read these operating instructions carefully. Pay particular attention to the safety instructions and use the heater only as described in these operating instructions and for the specified range of applications.
Keep these operating instructions in a safe place. Include all documents when passing on the heater to someone else.
2. Intended use
The heater is used as intended if it is used solely as additional heating for dry indoor areas. This heater should not be used outdoors or in tropical climates. The heater also should not be used in rooms where specific conditions exist, for example, a potentially explosive atmosphere (due to gas, dust or steam). This heater is not designed for commercial use or operation in a company. Use the heater only for private use in living areas as any other use is not as intended. This heater fulfils all relevant standards and guidelines with respect to CE conformity. In the event of any modification to the heater that was not approved by the manufacturer, compliance with these standards is no longer guaranteed. The manufacturer does not accept any liability for any resulting damage or faults in such cases. Please observe the regulations and laws in the country of use.
3. Supplied items
Take the heater and all accessories from the packaging. Remove all packaging material and check that all components are complete and undamaged. In the event of an incomplete or damaged delivery, please contact the manufacturer.

Before using this heater for the first time, read the following instructions carefully and pay attention to all warnings, even if you are familiar with handling electronic devices. Store these operating instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you sell or pass on the heater to someone else, be sure to always include these operating instructions as they are an integral part of the heater.

"DANGER" note indicates an imminent dangerous situation which, if not prevented, could result in serious injury or even death.
WARNING! This symbol in conjunction with the "WARNING" note indicates important information for safe operation of the heater and the safety of the user.
DANGER! This symbol indicates possible health risks up to a risk of fatal injury and/or material damage due to an electrical shock.
DANGER! This symbol indicates possible health risks up to a risk of fatal injury and/or material damage due to fire.
WARNING! This symbol indicates that the heater must not be covered to avoid overheating.

Foreseeable misuse
Only use the heater indoors and never use it to heat, for
example, a car or tent.
Never cover the heater with clothes or other items in order to
dry them. The heater should never be operated with an external time switch or a separate remote control system.
DANGER! Do not use this heater with a program switch, timer, separate remote control system or any other device that automatically switches on the heater because there is a risk of fire if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
DANGER! The heater must not be covered. It poses a fire hazard!
DANGER! Always place the heater on a flat, heat­resistant surface and not in the vicinity of heat sources and flammable materials, liquids or gases. Leave at least
0.5m clearance on all sides because there is a risk of fire otherwise!
DANGER! Plug the heater into a mains socket that is always easily accessible. However, the heater must never be positioned directly below a wall socket. Only use the heater with the voltage specified on the rating plate of the device because there is a risk of an electric shock otherwise!

lways handle the mains cable (11) by the plug and do not pull on the cable itself. Never place the heater, furniture or other heavy objects on the mains cable (11) and take care that it is not kinked, especially near the plug. Never tie a knot in the mains cable (11) and do not tie cables together. Ensure that the mains cable (11) is placed so that no one can trip over it and it does not cause an obstruction. Make sure that the mains cable (11) does not touch any hot surfaces of the heater. A damaged mains cable (11) can cause a fire or an electric shock. Inspect the mains cable (11) from time to time. If the mains cable (11) is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service representative or a similarly qualified person to prevent any safety hazards. Do not use adapter plugs or extension cables and do not make any alterations to the mains cable (11)!
DANGER! Never touch the mains cable (11) and the heater with wet hands because there is a risk of an electric shock!
DANGER! This heater can be used by children aged 8 and older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe

use of the heater and understand the resulting risks. Children must not play with the heater. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision. Children who are younger than 3 years of age must be kept away from the device unless they are constantly supervised. Children aged at least 3 and younger than 8 may only switch the heater on and off when they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the heater and understand the resulting risks, provided that the heater is positioned or installed where it is normally used. Children aged at least 3 and younger than 8 must not insert the plug into the socket, regulate the heater, clean it and/or perform user maintenance.
Caution - some parts of the heater can become very hot and cause burns. Particular caution is required when children and vulnerable persons are present. Small parts can be fatal if swallowed. Always keep plastic packaging out of reach. It poses a suffocation risk.
DANGER! This heater is not equipped with a thermostat to control the room temperature. The heater must not be used in small rooms if they are occupied by persons who are physically unable to leave the room independently, unless constant supervision is ensured.
