Information for these operating instructions
These operating instructions are a component of the Hair Dryer SHTD 2200 A1 (henceforth designated as the appliance) and they provide you with important information about the intended use, safety and connection as well as operation of the appliance.
These operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the ap­pliance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate and eliminate faults in the appliance.
Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the appliance to any future owners.

Intended use
This hair dryer is intended only for the drying and shaping of human hair, under no circumstances is it to be used for wigs and hairpieces made of synthetic material. This hair dryer is intended for domestic use only. Pay heed to all of the information in this operating manual, especially the safety instructions. This appli­ance is not designed for use in commercial or industrial applications.
This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those men­tioned herein. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. The operator alone bears liability.

Safety instructions
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Connect the hair dryer only to a correctly
installed mains power socket providing electri­cal energy at the level detailed on the rating plate.
Under no circumstances may the hair dryer be
submerged in fl uids, or fl uids be permitted to enter the appliance housing. Do not expose the appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. Should liquids enter the housing, dis­connect the appliance from the power source immediately and arrange for it to be repaired by a qualifi ed technician.
Disconnect the hair dryer from the mains pow-
er socket if defective operation is apparent and before cleaning it.

To disconnect it, pull only on the plug itself,
not on the power cable.
Do not wrap the power cable around the ap-
pliance and protect the cable from being dam­aged.

Should the power cable of the appliance be
damaged, to avoid potential risks it must be replaced by the manufacturer, his customer service or by a qualifi ed technician.
Do not kink or crush the power cable and lay
it in such a way as to prevent people from stepping on or tripping over it.
Do not use extension cables.Never touch the hair dryer, the power cable
or the plug with wet hands.
Disconnect the hair dryer from the power
source immediately after use. The appliance is completely free of electrical power only when you unplug it.
You are not permitted to open or repair the hous-
ing of the hair dryer. Should you do so, appli­ance safety can no longer be assured and the warranty will become void. Arrange for the hair dryer to be serviced and repaired only by qualifi ed specialists.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Never use the appliance near water, particu­larly not near sink
s, baths or other vessels. The proximity of water presents a risk, even when the appliance is switched off . After use, always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket. As additional protec­tion, the installation of a faulty-current pro­tection unit with an activation power rating of not more than 30 mA is recommended for the power circuit in the bathroom. Consult your electrician for advice.

This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with re­duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction con­cerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

made by children without supervision.

WARNING!

When it is switched on, NEVER lay the hair
dryer down or leave it unsupervised.
Never place the hair dryer close to sources of
heat and protect the power cable against po­tential damage.
Do not take the hair dryer into use if it has fall-
en down or is damaged in any way. Arrange for the appliance to be checked and/ or repaired by qualifi ed technicians.
Do not cover the air intake grill while operat-
ing the appliance. Clean the grill at regular intervals.
The hair dryer becomes hot when it is in use.
Hold it only by the grip when it is hot.

1)
Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the carton.
2) Remove all packaging material.
3) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section “Cleaning”.
