These operating instructions are a component of the Hair Dryer SHTD 2200 A1
(henceforth designated as the appliance) and they provide you with important
information about the intended use, safety and connection as well as operation
of the appliance.
These operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the appliance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate and
eliminate faults in the appliance.
Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the appliance to any
future owners.

Intended use
This hair dryer is intended only for the drying and shaping of human hair, under
no circumstances is it to be used for wigs and hairpieces made of synthetic
material. This hair dryer is intended for domestic use only. Pay heed to all of the
information in this operating manual, especially the safety instructions. This appliance is not designed for use in commercial or industrial applications.
This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those mentioned herein. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will
not be accepted. The operator alone bears liability.

Safety instructions
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
► Connect the hair dryer only to a correctly
installed mains power socket providing electrical energy at the level detailed on the rating
plate.
► Under no circumstances may the hair dryer be
submerged in fl uids, or fl uids be permitted to
enter the appliance housing. Do not expose
the appliance to humidity and do not use it
outdoors. Should liquids enter the housing, disconnect the appliance from the power source
immediately and arrange for it to be repaired
by a qualifi ed technician.
► Disconnect the hair dryer from the mains pow-
er socket if defective operation is apparent
and before cleaning it.

► To disconnect it, pull only on the plug itself,
not on the power cable.
► Do not wrap the power cable around the ap-
pliance and protect the cable from being damaged.

► Should the power cable of the appliance be
damaged, to avoid potential risks it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, his customer
service or by a qualifi ed technician.
► Do not kink or crush the power cable and lay
it in such a way as to prevent people from
stepping on or tripping over it.
► Do not use extension cables.
► Never touch the hair dryer, the power cable
or the plug with wet hands.
► Disconnect the hair dryer from the power
source immediately after use. The appliance is
completely free of electrical power only when
you unplug it.
► You are not permitted to open or repair the hous-
ing of the hair dryer. Should you do so, appliance safety can no longer be assured and the
warranty will become void. Arrange for the
hair dryer to be serviced and repaired only by
qualifi ed specialists.

Never use the appliance near water, particularly not near sink
s, baths or other vessels.
The proximity of water presents a risk, even
when the appliance is switched off . After
use, always disconnect the plug from the
mains power socket. As additional protection, the installation of a faulty-current protection unit with an activation power rating
of not more than 30 mA is recommended for
the power circuit in the bathroom. Consult
your electrician for advice.

intervals.
► The hair dryer becomes hot when it is in use.
Hold it only by the grip when it is hot.

Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the
carton.

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material
and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that
is no longer needed according to the regionally established regulations.

The hair dryer is fi tted with two function switches. With these you can separately
select the strength of the air fl ow ( Blower switch 5) and the level of heat ( Heat
level switch 6):

3) After use, switch the appliance off in that you place the blower switch 5 into
position “O”. Then remove the plug from the wall socket.
Cooling level
With the cool level switch 7 ❄ you can produce a cooler air fl ow with every
combination of blower and heat levels.
Ionisation function
With the Ionic switch-in 4 you can additionally add the ionic function to every
combination of blower and heat level.
When drying the hair using a hair dryer, the hair takes on a static charge and
begins to "fl y".
The ionisation function ensures that this charging of the hair is neutralised and
cancelled. The hair becomes soft, supple, shiny and easier to style.

Drying and styling hair
■ To quickly dry hair, we recommend fi rst of all using a high blower and heater
setting for a short period. Also, place the Ionic switch-in 4 at the position
“

Cleaning the air suction grill

► Clean the ventilation grill 2 at r
1) Turn the air intake grille 2 slightly so that it can be removed from the hairdryer.
2) Clean the openings of the air intake grill 2 with a soft brush.
3) Replace the air intake grille 2 back onto the hair dryer so that the lugs on
the air intake grille 2 engage in the slots on the housing of the hairdryer.
Turn the air intake grille 2 slightly so that it engages and is fi rmly seated on
the housing.
Storage
CAUTION - PROPERTY DAMAGE!
► First pack and transport the hair dryer when it has completely cooled
wn. Otherwise, it could damage other items.

Troubleshooting
Should your hair dryer not function as expected, fi rst remove the plug from the
mains power socket and allow the appliance to cool down for a few minutes.
The appliance is fi tted with an overheating protector!
Should the appliance still not function, consult the service department detailed
under "Service".
