Caution
1.Handle the power supply cord carefully
Do not damage or deform the power supply cord. If it is damaged or deformed, it may cause electric shock or malfunction when used. When removing from wall outlet, be sure to remove by holding the plug attachment and not by pulling the cord.

Avertissements concernant la sécurité

Model naming
Models DP-30L and DP-30L S are different only in the base color. The DP-30L is painted dark brown while the DP30L(S) is painted silver. Except for the base color, all the description about the DP-30L applies to the DP-30L(S) as well.
In some countries, either of the above models only is available.
Dénomination des modèles

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this apparatus may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug proceed as follows.
The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked by the letter E or by the safety earth symbol W or coloured green or green-and-yellow.
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

To ensure safe operation, the three-pin plug supplied must be inserted only into a standard three-pin power point which is effectively earthed through the normal household wiring.
Extension cords used with the equipment must be three-core and be correctly wired to provide connection to earth. Wrongly wired extension cords are a major cause of fatalities.
The fact that the equipment operates satisfactorily does not imply that the power point is earthed and that the installation is completely safe. For your safety, if in any doubt about the effective earthing of the power point, contact a qualified electrician.

FEATURES
1.Auto-lift mechanism with non-contact record-end sensor
The automatic arm lift (auto-lift) mechanism functions in such a way that when a record playback is finished, the tonearm is automatically lifted and the turntable rotation stops. This eliminates worry about unexpected wear of the stylus by leaving record at play. At the end of play, a non-contact record-end sensor senses the velocity change of the tonearm with an opto-electronic transducer, eliminating unnecessary load on the record or stylus, consequently sound quality is not impaired.
2.Newly developed angular control motor for arm lift
The arm lifting device employs a servo controlled angular control motor newly developed by DENON, resulting in a smooth and silent up-and-down tonearm motion.
3.New material employed for base
Newly developed special compound, having larger specific mass and superior vibration damping characteristic than convention al aluminum diecasting is employed for the base. Direct sound pressure from speakers or vibration from floor are isolated and, thus acoustic feed-back is effectively eliminated.
4.Front panel operation provides more flexible operation
The operation buttons and controls are arranged outside the dust over. More over, the speed change-over, start/stop and up/down functions are electrically actuated allowing soft touch button controls.
5.Direct drive system featuring speed detection with magnetic recording and AC motor.
The turntable speed is detected by DENON's magnetic recording detection system having numerous features. An AC motor is employed which has less irregularity of torque and much smoother roatation than a DC motor. Superb wow / flutter and rumble characteristics and stable rotation under various load or external conditions have been accomplished. This is the excellent direct drive system DENON proudly presents.
CARACTÉRISTIQUES
1.Mécanisme de lève-bras automatique employant un senseur de fin de disque sans contact.
Le mécanisme du lève-bras automatique (auto-lift) fonctionne de la façon suivante. A la fin de la lecture d'un disque, la pointe de lecture se soulève automatiquement et le plateau de lecture s'arrête. Ainsi la pointe de lecture ne s'use pas de façon immodérée lorsqu'on lit le disque.
Un senseur de fin de disque du type sans contact, qui analyse le changement de vitesse à l'aide d'un transmetteur opto-électronique, est utilisé pour la détection de la fin du disque, évitant ainsi une surcharge sur le disque ou sur la pointe de lecture, et une détérioration du son.
2.Un moteur de commande angulaire, nouvellement mis au point, est utilisé pour soulever le bras.
Le système du lève-bras emploie un nouveau moteur de commande angulaire servocommandé développé par DENON; Il permet une course verticale régulière du bras de lecture.
3.Nouveau matériau utilisé pour le coffret
Un nouveau matériau spécialement mis au point, possédant une masse spécifique plus importante, et des caractéristiques d'amortissement de vibrations supérieures au moulage en aluminium classique, est utilisé pour le support. La pression directe du son des hauts-parleurs et les vibrations du sol sont isolées, éliminant ainsi efficacement le couplage acoustique.
4.Le panneau avant permet une utilisation plus souple.
Les boutons et les commandes de fonctionnement sont disposés à l'extérieur de la housse. De plus les fonctions de changement de vitesse, de marche/arrêt et de haut/bas fonctionnent électriquement, grâce à des commandes à touches à effleurement.
5.Système de commande directe employant une détection de vitesse avec un enregistrement magnétique et un moteur AC.
La vitesse du plateau de lecture est détectée par le système de détection d'enregistrement magnétique de DENON qui possède de nombreuses caractéristiques. Un moteur à courant alternatif (AC), ayant théoriquement un couple moins irrégulier et une rotation plus douce que le moteur à courant direct est utilisé. Ceci permet d'obtenir d'excellentes caractéristiques de pleurage et de vibrations à basse fréquence et une rotation stable, dans des conditions de charges diverses ou extérieures. DENON est fier de présenter ce superbe système à commande directe.

BESONDERHEITEN
1.Tonarmlift-Automatik mit kontaktloser Endabschaltung
Die Tonarmlift-Automatik (Autolift) hebt die Nadelspitze am Ende der Schallplatte von der Platte ab und stoppt den Plattenteller. Hierdurch wird verhindert, dag sich die Nadel vorzeitig abnutzt.
Ein kontaktloser Sensor für die Endabschaltung ermittelt das Ende der Schallplatte, indem er die Geschwindigkeitsänderung des Tonarms über einen optisch-elektronischen Umformer erfagt. Hierdurch wird eine unnötige Belastung der Platte und der Nadel vermieden und die Klangqualität aufrechterhalten.
2.Tonarmlift mit neu entwickeltem Spezialmotor
Der servogesteuerte Motor Sorgt für glattes Heben und Senken des Tonarms.
3.Untersatz aus neuem Werkstoff
Zur Herstellung des Untersatzes wurde eine neu entwickelte Spezialwerkstoffverbindung verwendet, die ein höheres spezifisches Gewicht und bessere schwingungsdampfende Eigenschaften als konventionelles Gufl aluminium aufweist. Direkter Schalldruck von der Lautsprecheranlage oder durch den Boden übertragene Schwingungen werden abgefangen, so dag keine akustische Rückkopplung auftreten kann.
4.Bedienungselemente an der Forntplatte
Alle Bedienungselemente sind auflerhalb der Staubschutzhaube angeordnet. Auβerdem werden die Funktionen Geschwindigkeitswahl, Start/Stop und Anheben/Senken durch leichte Berührung der Tasten elektronisch ausgelöst.
5.Direkt angetriebenes Laufwerk mit magnetischem Geschwindigkeitssensor und Wechselstrommotor
Die Geschwindigkeit des Plattentellers wird über einen von DENON entwickelten magnetischen
Geschwindigkeitssensor erfaβt. Ein Wechselstrommotor, mit niedrigerer Drehmomentabweichung und weniger Flutter als ein Gleichstrommotor, treibt das Laufwerk an. Hierdurch wurden Tonhöhenschwankungen und Rumpelgeräusche erheblich herabgesetzt und gleichmäβiger Betrieb unter den verschiedensten
Belastungsund Umgebungsbedingungen erzielt.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USAGE
1.Handle the detecting head and magnetic coating with care
The speed detection head is positioned with a very small gap to the magnetic coating surface Do not for any reason loosen the attaching screws. Also be very careful not to scratch the magnetic coating surface when attaching or detaching the turntable platter to or from the motor shaft. Do not bring a magnet near the magnetic coating nor wipe it with solvent such as paint thinner, trichlene, toluene, or the pulse signal for speed detection will be disturbed and accurate speed cannot be expected.
2. When moving tonearm
To provide high performance, the tonearm of this record player consists of many prision parts. Avoid impacts or twisting. Especially in mounting or removing the head-shell, do not forcibly move the tonearm more than the swing range in up-and-down or rotational directions.
3. Take care of the turntable platter
Do not turn the power ON while the turntable platter is removed, nor forcibly stall the platter. Problems may result.

4. Select a suitable location
As much as possible, avoid locations where the turntable is exposed directly to the sun, or where it is moist or dusty. Place it on a horizontal position with little vibration. Ris also recommended to place the speakers and the record player away from each other.
5 . No lubrication needed
The motor bearings of this record player are filled with special oil, requiring no further lubrication.
6 . In your absence
When the set is to be left unused for a long time, be sure to remove the power supply cord from the wall outlet.
7 . Avoid insecticides and chemically treated cloth
Avoid insecticides, benzine or paint thinner since they can discolor or deform the cabinet or dust cover. When removing dust, wipe with soft cloth (such as Silicone cloth). Avoid using a chemically treated cloth since it can discolor or remove the paint.
8 . If dust is accumulated on the turntable mat, wash it away with water

La tête de détection de vitesse est placée avec un tout petit écartement, par rapport à la surface de revêtement magnétique.
Ne desserrez les vis de fixation sous aucun prétexte. Faites aussi très attention à ne pas rayer la surface du revêtement magnétique, lorsque vous mettez ou enlevez le plateau de lecture sur l'arbre du moteur. Ne placez pas d'aimant à proximité du revêtement magnétique et ne l'essuyez pas avec un solvant ou un diluant de peinture, etc., sinon les signaux d'impulsion pour la détection de la vitesse seront perturbés et la vitesse perdra en précision.
2.Utilisation du bras de lecture.
Dans le but d'obtenir de hautes performances, le bras de lecture de cette platine est composé de nombreuses pièces de précision. Evitez les chocs mécaniques et les torsions. En particulier, lorsque vous voulez installer ou démonter la coquille, ne forcez pas le bras de lecture au-delä de ses limites d'oscillation dans le sens vertical ou dans le sens de rotation.
3.Prenez soin du plateau de lecture.
Ne branchez pas votre appareil lorsque le plateau de lecture est enlevé, et ne bloquez pas non plus ce dernier, sinon vous risquerez d'avoir des ennuis.

4.Choisissez un endroit convenable pour l'installation.
Evitez d'exposer votre appareil directement au soleil ou dans les endroits humides ou poussiéreux. Placez-le en position horizontale à l'abri des vibrations. Il est aussi recommandé de séparer les enceintes de la platine.
5.Aucun graissage n'est nécessaire.
Les roulements du moteur de cette platine sont lubrifiés avec une huile spéciale ne nécessitant aucun graissage par la suite.
6.En votre absence.
Lorsque vous prévoyez une non-utilisation de votre appareil pendant un certain temps, n'oubliez pas de le débrancher.
7.Evitez les insecticides et les chiffons traités avec des produits chimiques.
Eviter également la benzine ou les diluants de peinture commerciaux, car ils risquent de décolorer ou de déformer le cabinet ou la housse. Pour essuyer la poussière, utilisez un chiffon doux (tel qu'un chiffon aux silicones). Evitez l'emploi de chiffons traités chimiquement, car ils risquent de produire une décoloration ou d'enlever la peinture.
8.Nettoyez à l'eau la poussière qui s'est accumulée sur le plateau du tourne-disque.

Bringen Sie keine magnetischen Gegenstände in die Nähe der Beschichtung und wischen Sie sie nicht mit Triehlor oder anderen Lösungsmitteln ab, da hierdurch das Pulssignal für die Geschwindigkeiteserfassung gestört werden und
Geschwindigkeitsabweichung auftreten kann.
2 . Bewegen des Tonarms
Der Tonarm dieses Lanfwerks besteht aus zahlreichen Präzisionsteilen, um dem hohen Inforderungen zu genügen. Vermeiden Sie es, ihn mechanischen Erschütterungen auszusetzen oder ihn zu verdrehen. Vor allem mug beim Befestigen bzw. Abnehmen des Tonkopfes darauf geachtet werden, dal der Tonarm nicht über seinen Bewegungsradius hinaus bewegt wird.
3 . Plattenteller sorgsam behandeln
Schalten Sie niemals den Strom ein, wenn der Plattenteller nicht aufliegt und bringen Sie den Plattenteller nicht mit Gewalt zum Stillstand; dies führt zu emsten Störungen.

4 . Wahl des passenden Aufstellungsorts
Vermeiden Sie es, das Gerät an Orten aufzustellen, wo es direkter Sonneneinstrahlung, Feunchtigkeit oder Staub ausgesetzt ist. Stellen Sie es auf eine waagerechte, vibrationsfreie Fläche. Achten Sie auch darauf, dal, die Lautsprecherbeten nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe des Plattenspielers aufgestellt werden.
5 . Schmierung nicht erforderlich
Die Motorlager dieses Plattenspielers sind mit Spezialöl gefüllt und erfordern keine Schmierung.
6 . Kein Betriebs über einen längeren Zeitraum
Wenn Sie auf Reisen gehen und das Gerät länger nicht in Betries genommen wird, sollte der Netzstecker aus der Steckdose gezogen werden.
7 . Insektenspray und chemisch imprägnierte Tücher vermeiden
Verspritzen Sie kein Insektenspray in der Nähe des Geräts und wischen Sie es nicht mit Verdünner ab, da dies zu einer Verfärbung des Gehäuses und der Staubschutzhaube führen kann. Stauben Sie es mit einem weichen Tuch ab (z.B. Silikontuch). Vermeiden Sie chemisch imprägnierte Lappen, da diese zu Verfärbungen oder Beschädigung des Lacks führen können.
8 . Wenn die Gummiauflage des Plattentellers verstaubt ist, wischen Sie sie mit Wasser ab.

( 5 ) Stop button
Press this button, and the arm lifter ascends and the motor stops. Because of inertia, the platter continues rotation for a while before it stops.
( 6 ) Anti-skating knob
In playback of record, an attraction force toward inside of record is introduced at the stylus. This force is varied by adjustment of this knob. Refer to page (14) for adjustment.
( 7 ) Counterweight
The stylus force applied to the cartridge is adjusted by this weight. Refer to page (14) for adjustment.
