Warranty Terms & Conditions
1. TEAC warrants t hat this product is free from defects in material and wor kmanship under normal domestic use with
reasonable care and skill. Maintenanc e and cleaning ( i.e. laser h ead) is not c overed by this warranty. T he T EAC
warranty only applies to TEAC pr oducts purchased, used and serviced in Australia.
2. The benefits to t he consumer given by t his W arranty are in addition to other rights and r emedies of the consumer
under a law in relation t o goods or services to which the warranty relat es, being the Australian Consumer Law.
3. Refund or replacement via your retailer is available for a period of 14 days aft er purchase for goods that have been
inspect ed and determined to have a major failure. Refund and exchange is not applicable for change of mind.
4. Subject to the t erms herein, this w arr anty effectively c overs the equipment as s pecif ied i n t he W arranty Periods

This servic e will only be provided as part of this warranty if all the f ollowing conditions are met;

a) The product is indicated in the Warranty Period T able.
b) The product is within the warrant y period.
c) The product is located within the normal service area of the local TEAC Authorised Service Centr e.
If TEAC determines that the pr oduct is not repai rable on site, TEAC c an c omplete the repair by taking the product to
a TEAC Authorised Service C entre.
Where In-Home service/Pick up* is not available, the purch aser is required to s end the product t o the nearest TEAC
Authorised Service Centre for repair. In this event, pr oof of purchase is requ ired to support a warranty claim. After
the repair, the product will be available for collection by or return to the purchaser at a fee up on request. TEAC inhome service can be made available at a f ee upon request.

6. A 12-month replacement warranty is applic able to all Access ories such as Remote, Power Adaptors and Cables.
7. TEAC will ensur e to the best of its abilities that all required parts are made available for any required service/repair.
8. TEAC Australia Pty Ltd and i ts Authorised Servic e C entres will u se t heir best endeavours t o c omplete p r oduct
repairs w ithin a reasonable p eriod b ased on available resourc es an d w orkload du ring t he time w hen servic e is
requested and perf ormed.
9. Refurbis hed parts may be used t o r epair the product. I n the c ase of a replacement, the product may be replaced,
with a refurbished unit of the same type or , i f on e is unavail able, a similar refurbish ed mod el with equ al or b etter
features & specific ations.
10. Please be advised that if the product pr esent ed for repair is c apable of ret aining user-generated data, the data may
be l ost during s ervicing. C ustomers are s trongly enc ouraged to back up all important information/data before
sending t he product in for s ervic e/repair.
11. Service will be provided only durin g normal business hours and under safety conditions and circumstances. TEAC
and its authoris ed ser vice agents can refus e any repair if safety, in relation to OH&S, becomes a concern to its staff
or authorised service agents’ pers onnel.
12. The warranty is void and warranty claims may be refus ed, subject t o the Australian Consumer Law, if:
a) The product was not transported, installed, operated or maint ained according to manufactur er instruction, or
b) The product was abus ed, damaged, tampered, altered or repaired by any unauthoris ed persons, or
c) Product f ailure is du e t o a ccidents dur ing us e, installation o r transit, p ower surg es , u se of def ec tive o r
incompat ible external devices, exposure to abnormal conditions such as excessive temperatures or humidity, or
entry of liquids, obj ects or creatures into the product.
13. No one is authoris ed to assu me any liabilit y on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in con nection with the
sale of any equipment other than as stated in this warranty and outlined above.
14. TEAC reserves the r ight to i nspect an d v erify w hether the pr oduct is ex h ibiting a m ajor failure as claimed by
customers/retailers.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
CAUTION
The voltage supplied to the unit should match the voltage as printed on the AC
adapter. If you are in any doubt regarding this matter, consult an electrician.
Do not open the cabinet because this might result in damage to the circuitry or
electrical shock. If a foreign object should get into the unit, contact your dealer
or service company.
When removing the AC power plug from the wall socket, always pull directly on
the plug, never yank on the cord.
Placement of the device
Choose the installation location of your unit carefully. Avoid placing it in direct
sunlight or close to a source of heat. You should also avoid locations that are
subject to vibration, excessive heat, cold or moisture.
As the unit may become warm during operation, always leave sufficient space
around it for ventilation.
Do not place the unit on an amplifier, a receiver or any other device that
generates heat.
When the unit is turned on, if a TV is turned on nearby lines may appear on the
TV screen depending on the frequency of the broadcast. This is not a
malfunction of the unit or the TV. If you see such lines, move the unit and the
TV further apart.
Maintenance
If the surface of the unit gets dirty, wipe with a soft cloth or use a diluted mild liquid
soap. Allow the surface of the unit to dry completely before using.
For safety, disconnect the AC po
wer plug from the outlet before using.
Never spray liquid directly on this unit.
Do not use thinner and alcohol as they could damage the surface of this unit.

POWER SUPPLY
Power Supply Using AC Power
1 . Check if the power voltage, as shown on the type plate located on the bottom of the
set, corresponds to your local AC power supply. If it does not, consult your dealer or
service centre.
2 . Connect the power cord to the wall outlet. Slide the function selector to CD position.
The power supply is now connected and ready for use.
3 . To switch off completely, adjust the source selector to Aux In position or unplug the
power cord from the wall outlet.
• Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet to protect your set during heavy
thunderstorms.
• If electric cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, or by the
qualified service personnel in order to avoid danger.

2. BASIC FUNCTION
1 . To select your sound source, adjust the source selector to CD/AUX IN/FM/AM.
2 . Adjust the sound with the VOLUME controls.
3. To switch off the set, adjust the source selector to AUX IN position or unplug the
power cord from the wall outlet.
Radio reception:
1. Slide the FUNCTION selector to a desired setting – FM or AM.
2. Rotate the TUNING control to find the desired stations.
3. When you have finished listening, slide the FUNCTION Selector to the AUX IN position
or unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
– For FM, pull out the wired antenna. Incline and tune the antenna Reduce its length if
the signal is too strong (very close to a transmitter)
– For AM the set is provided with a built-in antenna so the telescopic antenna is not
needed. Direct the antenna by turning the whole set.

PLAYING A CD
REPEAT MODE
This CD-player can play Audio Discs, CD-R and CD-Rewritable. Do not try to play CDROM, CDi, VCD,DVD or computer CD.
1. Adjust the source selector to CD and display will show - - briefly.
2. To open the CD door, press the CD door at the edge marked OPEN/CLOSE.
3. Insert a CD, CD-R or CD-RW with the printed side facing up and gently press the CD
door closed.
4. Press on the main unit or remote control to start playback.
5. To pause playback press
- To resume, press again.
6. To stop CD playback, press button.
Repeat Playback
-The Repeat function in this system allows you to continuously repeat a single track, or
the entire disc.
-The Repeat function can be activated during playback or while the player is stopped.
One Track Repeat
• Select the track to be repeated and begin playback.
• Press the REPEAT button on main unit or remote control once.
The REPEAT 1 indicator appears in the display and the selected track will be repeated
continuously.
Note: CD play will also stop when
– you open the CD compartment
– you select the function switch to AUX IN
– the CD has reached the end
SELECTING A DIFFERENT TRACK
During playback you can use or to select a particular track.
• If you have selected a track number in the stop or pause position, press or
to start playback.
• Press once briefly for the next track, or press repeatedly until the desired track
number appears in the display.
• Press once briefly to return to the beginning of a current track.
• Press more than once briefly for a previous track.
All Tracks Repeat
• Load the disc in the player and begin playback.
• Press the REPEAT button on the main unit or remote control twice.
• The REPEAT ALL indicator appears in the display. All tracks on the disc will be
repeated continuously.
To cancel Repeat playback mode, press the REPEAT button until the “REPEAT 1" and
"REPEAT ALL” indicators disappear.
Repeat mode can also be cancelled by opening the CD tray, switching to AUX IN or
AM/FM mode.

You can connect the audio output of an external device (such as a CD-player) to this unit
to listen to audio from that device through the amplifiers on this unit.
• To connect an external audio device (eg. MP3 player), please use a standard stereo
cable (not included) with 3.5mm to 3.5mm plugs to connect the headphone out or
audio line-out socket of the external device to the AUX IN input socket of this unit.
• Slide FUNCTION switch to AUX IN position
• Turn on the external device and start music playback
Up to 20 tracks can be programmed for disc playback in any order, including repeating the
same track up to 20 times.
• Press the PROGRAM button
• Select a desired track by using or buttons.
• Press the PROGRAM button to confirm.
• Repeat last two steps as described above to enter additional memories into the
program if necessary.
• When all the desired tracks have been programmed, press button to play the disc
in the order you have programmed.
NOTE:
You can erase the contents of the memory with one of the following actions:
methods:
- Opening the CD door
- Changing to FM or AM source
- Press button twice.
For best sound quality, we recommend that you use licensed CD-R/CD-RW discs.
Note that audio CDs made from compressed files like MP3s have lost sound quality.
You can plug your headphones (not included) into the headphone socket on the left hand
side of the main unit. Be sure to turn the volume low before putting on your headphones,
then increase once on. When headphones are connected the speakers are automatically
muted.

Precautions & General Maintenance
• Place the set on a hard and flat surface so that the system does not tilt.
• Do not expose the set, batteries or CDs to humidity, rain, sand or excessive heat caused
by heating equipment or direct sunlight.
• Do not cover the set. Adequate ventilation with a minimum gap of 6 inches between the
ventilation holes and surrounding surfaces is necessary to prevent heat build-up.
• The mechanical parts of the set contain self-lubricating bearings and must not be oiled
or lubricated.
• To clean the set, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents containing alcohol,
ammonia, benzene or abrasives as these may harm the housing.
CD player and CD handling
• The lens of the CD player should never be touched!
• Sudden changes in the surrounding temperature can cause condensation to form and
the lens of your CD player to cloud over. Playing a CD is then not possible. Do not
attempt to clean the lens but leave the set in a warm environment until the moisture
evaporates.
• Always close the CD door to keep the CD compartment dust-free. To clean, dust the
compartment with a soft dry cloth.
• To clean the CD, wipe in a straight line from the centre towards the edge using a soft,
lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning agents as they may damage the disc.
• Never write on a CD or attach any stickers to it.

If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the set for repair.
Do not open the set as there is a risk of electric shock.
If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or
TEAC Customer Support Hotline at 1300 553 315.
WARNING: Under no circumstances should you try to repair the set yourself, as this will
void the warranty.

We have done our best to reduce the packaging and make it easy to separate into 3
