Introduction

Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance.
You have clearly decided in favour of a high-quality product. These operating

instructions are a part of this product. They contain important information in regard
to safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all
of these operating and safety instructions. Use this appliance only as described
and only for the specifi ed areas of application. In addition, pass these operating
instructions on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a future date.

Intended use

This appliance is intended only for the non-commercial measuring of moisture in
wood and construction materials. The moisture can be measured in, for example,
fi rewood, paper, cardboard, construction timber, mortar, concrete and plaster. In
addition, the appliance will display the room temperature in °Celsius or °Fahr­enheit. This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those
detailed. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not
be accepted. The operator alone bears liability.

Safety

In this chapter you receive important safety information regarding the handling
of the appliance. This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations.
Incorrect usage can, however, lead to personal injury and property damage.

Basic Safety Instructions

For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:

■ Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not take into

operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.

■ This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with

restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or defi ciences in experi­ence and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible
for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to
be used.

■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

■ A repair to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out

by a customer service department authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise,
no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.

■ Do not make any unauthorised modifi cations or alterations to the appliance.

■ Protect the appliance against moisture and liquid penetration.

■ The measuring pins are very sharp. Be careful when working with the appli-

ance. Always replace the protective cap on the appliance when it is not in
use. There is also a risk of personal injury!

For safe handling of batteries observe the following safety instructions:

■ Do not throw batteries into a fi re.

■ Never short-circuit batteries.

■ Do not attempt to recharge batteries.

■ Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking battery acid can

cause permanent damage to the appliance. Special caution should be
exercised when handling damaged or leaking batteries. Risks from acid
burns! Wear protective gloves.

■ Store batteries in a place inaccessible to children. If a battery should be

swallowed, seek medical attention IMMEDIATLY.

■ If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove

the batteries.

or through transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service).

Inserting / replacing the batteries

♦ Unscrew the battery compartment lid on the rear of the appliance.
♦ Insert 4 new batteries of type AAA into the battery compartment .

Be sure to insert the batteries with the correct polarity.

♦ Replace the battery compartment lid on the battery compartment and

screw it down fi rmly.

Handling and operation

In this chapter you will receive important information for the handling and
operation of the appliance.

Display indicators

The display is structured as follows:

If this symbol appears, the batteries
must be replaced.

The left scale shows wood moisture
content from 6-44%.

The right scale shows construction
material moisture content from

0.2 - 2.0%.
The temperature is indicated at the

top of the display in °Celsius or
°Fahrenheit.

The measurement result is shown in the middle of the
display by measurement lines. In the left scale each
measurement line represents 1%. In the right scale
each measurement line represents 0,05%.

Measurement of constructional material or wood moisture

♦ Switch the appliance on by pressing the ON/SET button.
♦ Before taking the fi rst measurement, check that the appliance is functioning

correctly. For this, use the test aid

♦ Press the measuring pins on the measurement points . All measurement

♦ When you arrive at the given value in both tests, the appliance is ready for use.

♦ To read the results for mortar, concrete and plaster, use the right scale with

the symbol

♦ If the measured value exceeds the maximum values of 2% resp. 44%, the

measurement lines start to blink.

♦ To minimise measurement errors, carry out comparative measurements at

several locations.

Temperature Display

♦ The temperature is indicated at the top of the display .
♦ Press and hold the ON/SET button for 3 seconds to toggle between

Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Pocket lamp

♦ Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to switch the LED on.
♦ Press the button once again to switch the LED off .

Automatic switch-off

The appliance switches itself off automatically after approx. 30 seconds without
button activation. The automatic switch off is disabled when the LED
switched on.

Cleaning

IMPORTANT

Possible damage to the appliance.

Permeating moisture can cause damage to the appliance.

► To avoid irreparable damage to it, ensure that no moisture can get inside

when you are cleaning the appliance.

■ Clean the housing exclusively with a soft damp cloth and a mild dishwashing

liquid.

■ Clean the measuring pins with a damp cloth and dry them well afterwards.

Maintenance

■ Before every use check the appliance for visible external damage.

■ Check the measuring pins before every use for damage.

Storage/Disposal

Storage

Always replace the protective cap on the appliance when it is not in use.
If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the

batteries.
Store the appliance in a dry environment.

Disposal of the appliance

Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal

domestic waste. This product is subject to the
provisions of European Directive 2002/96/EC-WEEE
(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre

or at your community waste facility. Pay heed to the currently
applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your
waste disposal centre.

Disposing of the batteries

Do not dispose of the batteries with household waste. All consumers are statutorily
obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in their community/city district
or at a retail store. This obligation is intended to ensure that batteries are disposed
of in an environmentally safe fashion. Only hand in batteries/cells that are fully
discharged.

Uvod

Iskrene čestitke ob nakupu vaše nove naprave.
Odločili ste se za kakovosten izdelek. Ta navodila za uporabo so sestavni del

vašega izdelka. Vsebujejo pomembne napotke za njegovo varnost, uporabo
in odstranitev. Preden izdelek začnete uporabljati, si preberite vse napotke za
njegovo varno uporabo. Izdelek uporabljajte samo na opisani način in le za
navedena področja uporabe. Ob predaji naprave tretji osebi zraven priložite
tudi vso dokumentacijo.

Namenska uporaba

Ta naprava je predvidena izključno za neposlovno uporabo, za merjenje vlage
v lesu in gradbenih materialih. Z njo se lahko npr. meri vlaga v drvih, papirju,
lepenki, konstrukcijskem lesu, malti, betonu in ometu. Dodatno pa naprava prikazuje
temperaturo v prostoru v stopinjah Celzija ali Fahrenheita. Kakršna koli druga
ali drugačna uporaba od navedene je nenamenska. Uveljavljanje kakršnih koli
zahtevkov na podlagi škode zaradi nenamenske uporabe je izključeno. Tveganje
nosi izključno uporabnik.

Varna uporaba

V tem poglavju najdete pomembne varnostne napotke za uporabo naprave.
Ta naprava ustreza predpisanim varnostnim določilom. Nepravilna uporaba
lahko povzroči telesne poškodbe in materialno škodo.

Osnovni varnostni napotki

Za varno uporabo naprave upoštevajte naslednje varnostne napotke:

■ Pred uporabo napravo preglejte, ali nima vidnih zunanjih poškodb.

Ne uporabljajte poškodovane naprave ali naprave, ki je padla na tla.

■ Ta izdelek ni namenjen temu, da bi ga uporabljale osebe (tudi otroci ne)

z omejenimi telesnimi, zaznavnimi ali duševnimi sposobnostmi ali s pomanjklji­vimi izkušnjami in/ali znanjem, razen pod nadzorom osebe, ki je odgovorna
za njihovo varnost ali jim je dala navodila v zvezi z uporabo izdelka.

■ Otroke je treba nadzorovati, da preprečite igranje z napravo.

■ Med garancijsko dobo sme popravila naprave izvajati le servisna služba, ki

jo je proizvajalec pooblastil za to, drugače v primeru nastale škode zahtevki
iz naslova garancije niso več možni.

■ Na napravi ne izvajajte nobenih lastnoročnih predelav ali sprememb.

■ Napravo zaščitite pred vlago in vdorom tekočin.

■ Merilni konici sta zelo ostri. Pri delu z napravo bodite previdni. Na napravo

vedno namestite zaščitni pokrov, kadar je ne uporabljate. Obstaja nevarnost
poškodb!

V zvezi z varnim ravnanjem z baterijami upoštevajte naslednje varnostne napotke:

■ Baterij ne mečite v ogenj.

■ Baterij nikoli ne zvežite na kratko.

■ Praznih baterij ne poskušajte polniti.

■ Baterije redno preverjajte. Iztekla baterijska kislina lahko povzroči trajno

škodo na napravi. Pri rokovanju s poškodovanimi ali izteklimi baterijami
bodite posebej previdni. Nevarnost razjed! Nosite zaščitne rokavice.

■ Baterije hranite izven dosega otrok. Pri zaužitju takoj pojdite k zdravniku.

■ Če naprave dlje časa ne uporabljate, baterije vzemite ven.
