IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put food processor in water or any other liquid. This may cause personal injury or damage to the product.

Close supervision is necessary when using this appliance near children.

Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.

Do not contact moving parts.

Do not operate food processor with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized Sunbeam service center for examination, repair or mechanical adjustment.

The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electrical shock or injury.

Do not let cord touch hot surfaces or hang over table edges or counters.

Do not use your food processor if any part is broken.

Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.

Keep hands and utensils away from moving blades or discs while processing food to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the food processor.

A scraper may be used but must be used only when the food processor is not running.

Blade and processing disk are sharp. Handle carefully.

To reduce the risk of injury to persons, never place cutting blade on motor base without first putting container properly in place.

Be certain container cover is securely locked in place while operating appliance.

Never feed food into food chute by hand, always use the food pusher.

Be sure to turn switch to OFF position after each use.

Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.

EXTENSION CORD USE

A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if care is exercised in its use. If an extension cord is used, the electrical rating of the cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

POLARIZED PLUG INFORMATION

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug in any way.

THIS UNIT IS FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

Hold handle and turn the bowl counterclockwise until it locks firmly into position. The bowl handle will be positioned above the control buttons.

FOR MODEL: 3220

Place the bowl without the cover with the handle directly above the switch panel over the drive shaft on the motor base. Rotate the bowl to the right until it drops down evenly on the base. Hold handle and turn the bowl counterclockwise until it locks firmly in place. The handle will be positioned to the right, above the switch interlock platform.

NOTE: Each time you re-assemble your food processor, be sure to attach the bowl first and lock it into position. Then, attach the cover.

3.Place the chopping blade or dough blade over the drive shaft, rotating it slightly

until it drops into place. Add the ingredients. THE BLADES ARE

EXTREMELY SHARP. USE CAUTION HANDLING BLADES.

4.FOR MODELS: 3200, 3212

Attach the cover onto the bowl so that the food chute is on the left side of the bowl. Turn counterclockwise until the cover locks into place. The food chute will be directly above and in line with the handle.

6.Start processing by selecting ON or PULSE and pressing the appropriate touch-pad button.

B) Using the slicing/shredding disk and french fry disk attachments:

1.Place the blade shaft over the drive shaft rotating it slightly until it drops into place.

English-3

2.The slicing/shredding blade is convertible. One side is for slicing and the other side is for shredding. The french fry cutter is not convertible.

3.Insert blade onto the blade shaft with the blade of your choice facing up.

4.Attach the cover onto the bowl so that the food chute is facing to left side of the bowl. Turn counterclockwise until the cover locks into place.

5.Load the food chute with ingredients before turning the food processor ON. Always use the food pusher to yield more evenly sliced or shredded foods –

NEVER USE YOUR FINGERS.

NOTE: The blade attachments are extremely sharp! Use caution when handling, and storing.

6.Rest the food pusher in the food chute. Press the ON button on the touch-pad. Now, holding the food pusher with one hand, and food chute in the other, push gently down on the food pusher. When finished, press control button to the OFF position before removing cover.

FOOD PROCESSING TECHNIQUES – USING THE CHOPPING BLADE

PULSING TECHNIQUES

The food processor processes food very quickly; in most cases, in seconds! Therefore, foods can easily become over processed if you don’t watch carefully. We suggest that when using the chopping blade in the bowl, you process foods no more than a few seconds at a time. Pulsing ensures excellent results every time.

NOTE: Please be sure that the chopping blade has stopped spinning completely before removing the cover.

PLACING FOOD INTO BOWL

For the best results, you should try to process pieces of food that are of about equal size. When you cut, break or tear foods into uniform pieces before you begin processing, the finished results will be more uniform, too.

You will get faster, more consistent processing results if you do not overload the bowl. When using the cutting blade be sure to fill the bowl only 3/4 of its maximum capacity.

NOTE: When processing a heavy load, check to be sure the food processor is sitting firmly on the counter or tabletop. DO NOT WALK AWAY

FROM THE FOOD PROCESSOR WHILE PROCESSING.

CHOPPING MEATS

Pre-cut meat into pieces about 3/4 inch square. Place the pieces in the bowl, replace the cover and process using the pulse technique for 5 to 7 seconds. Never process more than 2 cups of meat cubes at one time.

English-4

CHOPPING VEGETABLES

When processing vegetables such as onions, peel and quarter; cut large onions into eighths. Place 1 to 2 cups of the pieces into the bowl, turning the food processor ON and OFF 1 to 2 times to coarsely chop, 3 to 4 times more to finely chop. Scrape sides of bowl once or twice during processing, if necessary.

USING FRENCH FRY CUTTER

Make sure food processor is turned off. Place potato into food chute. Cover with food pusher and push down gently. Turn food processor on and continue pushing until potato is completely cut.

ADDING LIQUID INGREDIENTS

Liquid ingredients may be added while the processor is operating by pouring them through the food chute.

NOTE: When processing sauces or semi-liquid ingredients, stop the food processor and scrape down the sides of the bowl and cover.

CLEANING, STORING AND CARING FOR

YOUR OSTER® FOOD PROCESSOR

When you have finished processing, unplug the food processor from the electrical outlet and remove the cover, all attachments and the bowl from the motor base.

Wipe the base of your unit a damp cloth, then wipe lightly with a dry one.

NEVER IMMERSE THE MOTOR BASE IN ANY LIQUID.

The bowl, cover, case, chopping blades, disk, blade shaft and food pusher are all dishwasher safe. These parts may be cleaned on the top rack of a dishwasher.

REMEMBER TO USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN HANDLING THE CUTTING BLADE AND BLADE ATTACHMENTS. THEY ARE VERY SHARP!

Cleaning the internal shaft of your chopping blade is most important.

We suggest the use of a small baby bottle brush to remove any food particles, then wash and dry the shaft thoroughly.

We suggest that you store the food processor on a dry counter or table-top in your kitchen, where it will always be ready for immediate use. Store the cutting blade in the clear container. Store the blade attachments in a safe location (OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN). The blades are EXTREMELY sharp! Use caution when handling the blades.

After washing and drying the bowl, you may wish to apply a small amount of vegetable oil to the rim of the cover and bowl. This lubrication allows the cover to move freely when in contact with the bowl.

ALWAYS STORE BLADE AND BLADE ATTACHMENTS

OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN!
