Potentially hot surtaces include the cooktop,
areas tacing the cooktop and the drip trav
handles.
• Keep the ventilator hood mid grease filters
clean to maintain good venting mid to avoid
grease fires. Turn the ventilator OFF in case
of fire or when intentionally "flaming" liquor
or other spirits on the cooktop. The blower,
if in operation, could spread the flames.
• DO NOT obstruct the flow of combustion
or ventilation air to the applimlce. Be stu'e

• Do not use water on grease fires. Never
pick up a flaming pma. Turn the controls off.
Smother a flaming pan on a surtace unit
by covering the pan completely with a
well-fitting lid, cookie sheet or fiat tray:
Use a m tflti-puri)ose dry chemical or
ti)am-type fire extinguisher.
Flaming grease outside a pan can be put
out by covering it with baking soda or,
if available, by using a mtflti-pm])ose dry
chemical or loam-type fire extinguisher.
• DO NOT STORE OR USE COMBUSTIBLE
MATERIALS, GASOLINE OR OTHER
klAMMABLE VAPORS AND LIQUIDS IN
THE VICINITY OF THIS OR ANY OTHER
APPLIANCE.
• Do not let cooMng grease or other flmnmable
materials accumulate in or near the cooktop.
Cleml drip trays and liners after every use.
• If you smell gas, the installer has not done
a proper job of checking tot leaks. You can
have a small leak and therefln'e a taint gas
smell if the connections are not completely
tight.
Finding a gas leak is NOT a do-it-yourself
procedure. Some leaks can only be fotmd
with the burner control in the ON position
and fin" yotu" protection it must be done bv
a qualified selwice technician. Never use an
open flame to locate a leak.
• If by some chmlce a burner goes out and
gas escapes, open a window or a door to
let the room air out, Do not attempt to
use the appliance tmtil the gas has had
time to dissipate. Follow the instructions
in "What to do if You Smell Gas" on page 2.
• Do not use aluminum foil to line any part of
the cooktop. Using a foil liner could result in
a fire hazard or the obstluction of the flow
of combustion and ventilation aiI: Foil is an
excellent heat insulator and heat will be
trapped tmderneath it. This trapped heat
can upset the cooking i)ertormance and
can damage the finish of the oven or the
cooktop.
• Do not heat unopened food containers;
a build-u I) of pressm'e mav ca use the
container to 1)m_t.
• Set the burner control so that the flmne
heats tufty the bottom of the pml and does
not extend bevond the bottom of the pan.
Excessive flame is hazardous. The high BTU
burnei3 C_lll easily melt cookware handles.
• Hold the hmldle of the pan, using a dry pot
holder, to prevent movement of the utensil
when stirring or tm'ning tood.
• Always heat fat slowly, and watch as it heats.
• Always use the LITE position when igniting
the surface burners and inake sure the
bm'ners have ignited.
• Never leave the surface burners unattended
at high flame settings, Boilovers cause
smoking and greasy spillovers that may catch
on fire. If the bm'ner flames are smothered
by a severe boilover which afli_cts the ignitor,
tud)tu'ned gas will escape into the room.
• Do not let pot holders come near open
flames when lifting cookware. Do not use
a towel or other bulky cloth in place of a
pot holder.
• To minimize the possibility of burns, ignition
of flammable materials and spillage, ttlYil
cookware handles toward the side or back of
the cooktop without extending over a(!jacent
b/IYIleI3.

Vous pouvez (_teindre de la graisse en flamme
sortie d'une casserole ell la couvrant de
bicarbonate de soude ou, si possible, ell
utilisant till extincteur d'incendie polywdent
_'l mousse ou _'lpoudre.
• NE RANGEZ JAMAIS OU N'UTILISEZ
JAMAIS DE MATI]_]RE COMBUSTIBLE,
D'ESSENCE OU D'AUTRE VAPEUR OU
LIQUIDE INFLAMMABLE A PROXIMITY]
DE CET APPAREIL OU DE TOUT AUTRE
APPAREIL M_]NAGER.
• Ne laissez jamais de graisse de cuisson ou
d'autre mati_re inflmnmable s'accumttler
dans votre cuisilfi_re ou fi proximit6 de votre
cuisiifibre. Nettoyez aprbs chaque utilisation
les 6gouttoirs et les rev6tements int6rieurs.
• Si vous sentez le gaz, c'est que l'installateur
n'a pas bien vOrifiO les fllites. I1 est possible
que vous avez une petite fllite et par
consequent une taible odeur de gaz si les
raccords ne sont pas conq)l_tement _tanches.
Vous NE pouvez PAS localiser vous-n/&ine une
fuite de gaz. On ne peut trotlver certaines
fllites qu'avec les boutons de contrtle des
bI01euI5 ell position ON (nlarche). Pour
w)tre protection, c'est till technicien qualifi(_
qui dolt localiser toute trite. N'essayezjanmis
de localiser une fllite _'ll'aide d'une flanlnle.
• Si, par hasaxd, tm brfileur s'6teint et du gaz
s'6chappe, ouvrez une fen6tre ou une porte
pour hisser sortir Fair de la pibce. N'essavez
jalnais d' utiliser votre appareil in_nager avant
que tout le gaz se soit dissip(_. Suivez les
instructions de la page 2 "Que taire si
VO/IS sentez le gaz."
• N'utilisez ja:maJs de papier d'alumilfimn
pour recouvrir tm 616ment du four ou de
la table de cuisson. I,'utilisation de papier
d'ahuniniunl peut occasionner un incendie
ou till arr_t de la circulation d'air de
combustion et de ventilation. I,e papier
d'ahnniniuln est un excellent isolant de la
chaleur et prend au pi_ge mute la chaleur.
Cette chaleur prise au pibge peut g_ner la
cuisson et endolnlnager le fini du tour ou
de la table de cuisson.
• Ne r6chauffez pas de contenants d'alhnents
ferm6s; une auglnentation de pression peut
taire exploser le contenant.
• Ajustez la taille de la flmnme du brflleur de
surface de mmfibre fi ce qu'elle ne dtpasse
pas le fond de la casserole. Une trop grande
flalnlne est dangereuse. I,es bi t_deurs ti)i'ts

de casserole.
• Tenez la casserole pax sa poignte, fi l'aJde
d'tm torchon sec, pour _viter tout In ouvelnent
de l'ustensile quand wins relnuez ou touillez

• R6chauffez toujours doucement les matibres
grasses, et surveillez-les qumad dies chauffent.
• Utilisez toujours le rtglage en position LITE
(allumage) quand vous allumez les brfileurs
de surface et assurez-vous que les blt_deuI_
aient bien pris feu.
