Afterinstallingyournewwashingmachine,starta washcyclebysettingprogramme"1"at90degrees.
Starting Margherita 2000 in the right way is important for the quality of your wash, to help prevent future problems and enhancelifeexpectancyofyour appliance.Onceyouhaveloaded yourwashingmachineandadded the detergent together with any fabricconditioner,alwayscheck that:

2.The plug is secured in the socket.
3.Thewatersupplyisturnedon.
4.Selector knob Ais positioned on one of the symbols(Stop/ Reset).
Choosethedesiredprogramme
The programme is selected accordingtothetypeofgarments thatneedtobewashed.Tochoose aprogramme,refertothetableon page 4. Turn knob A until the selected programme coincides with the pointer situated on the control panel. Set the temperature using knob B and, if necessary, use buttons D, E, F and G and then press on/off buttonH(positionON).
Remember that, if you want to use it, the "programmed start" should be set before the wash cycle.
At the end of the wash cycle...
The L lamp to extinguish: it will takeaboutthreeminutes. ThenturnMargherita2000offby pressing on-off button H (OFF position).Youcannowopenthe washing machine door safely.
Afterhavingremovedthefreshly cleanedwashing,leavethedoor open to allow air circulation inside the drum.
Alwaysdisconnectelectricityat thesocketandturnoffthewater supply.
Remember that, in the event of a power failure, or should the washing machine switch itself off, the programme chosen will remain in its memory.
How to eliminate the most common stains
Ink and biro Dab with a wad of cotton soaked in methyl alcohol or alcohol at 90°. Tar Dab with fresh butter, rub in turpentine then wash immediately.
Wax Scrape away, then run a hot iron between two sheets of absorbent paper. Then rub in cotton with turpentine or methyl alcohol.
Chewing gum Rub in nail polish remover and wipe with a clean rag.
Mold Cotton and white linen should be placed in a solution of 5 parts water, one bleach and a spoon of vinegar, then washed immediately. For other white fabrics, use hydrogen peroxide at 10 volumes and wash immediately. Lipstick Dab with ether on wool or cotton. Use tricloroetilene for silk.
Nail polish Place a sheet of absorbent paper on the side of the stain, wet it with nail polish remover, shifting the garment as the sheet gradually changes colour.
Grass Dab with a wad of cotton soaked in methyl alcohol.

Programme selector knob and programmed start
Usethisknobtoselectthewash programme.
Turnthisknobclockwiseonly.
To select a programme, you should turn the knob so that the symbol/number ofthedesired programme is in line with the pointer on the control panel. Now press on/off button H (position ON), pilot lamp I will startflashing.
After 5", the setting will be accepted, pilot lamp I will stop flashing(stayinglit)andthewash cycle will begin.
Shouldyouwishtointerruptthe programme in progress or set a new one, select one of the symbols(Stop/Reset)andwait 5" : when the cancellation has been accepted, pilot lamp I flashes,andyoucanthenturnthe applianceoff.
Delay timer
You can use this knob to delay theappliance'soperation. Selectoneofthefourdelaytime positions,presstheon/offbutton H(positionON)andwait5".The setting has now been accepted (pilot lamp I stays lit) and you can select the programme you desire.
Pilot lamp 1 has a particular flashing motion (2" on and 4" off) to indicate that a delayed start has been set.
Duringthisphase,youcanopen the appliance door and change the washing load, should you wish to do so.
Afterthewashcyclehasbeenset and accepted by the washing machine, turning the knob will have no effect (except for when it is on positionStop/Reset).

Temperature control knob
It is used to set the wash temperature in the recommended programmetableonpag.4.Italso allows you toreduce thetemperature recommended for the selectedprogramme,andevento set a cold wash cycle ().
Detergent dispenser
It is divided into three compartments:
1.Detergentforpre-wash;
2.Detergentforthemaincyclewash;
3.Fabricconditioner.
The washing machine is equipped with an extra compartment 4 (provided as an accessory) for the bleach, to be insertedincompartment 1.
90° Energic
Thestrongeststandardcycleisat 60°C. To start the wash cycle at 90°C,youmustturnknobAtothe programme 1 setting, turn the knobBtothehighesttemperature setting (60°C) and then press thisbutton.Thisfeaturecanonly beusedwithwashprogramme1 forwashingverystrongmaterials, like cotton, linen and hemp and shouldbeusedwhentheclothes areverydirty.

Soak
With this button, you can leave yourwashingtosoak,whichlasts approximately 12 hours, after whichtheappliancewillcarryout thewashcycleset.
Shouldyouwishtointerruptthe soaking,pressbuttonEoncemore. Thisfunctioncanbeusedwithall wash cycles except for cycle number5.
Rinse-Hold
This button allows you to interruptaprogramme(onsymbol )keepingthewashingsoaking in waterbeforethespincycle.It is a very useful button in particularbecauseitcanbeused fordelicatesand synthetics.Itis only to be used with wash programmesforsyntheticfabrics, silk and curtains when it is impossible for you to take the washingoutimmediately.Before opening the washing machine door, finish the wash cycle as follows:
Silkandcurtains:pressbuttonF andMargherita2000willdrainthe water.
Syntheticfabrics:pressbuttonF if you want a spin cycle, or turn knobAtosymbolifyouwant thewatertobedrained.
Extra Rinse
Thishelpstoincreasetheamount ofrinsecyclesinprogrammesfor sturdyfabrics.Werecommendthat youuseittoimprovethemachine's rinsingpowerwhendealingwitha full load and a great amount of detergent.
Thisbuttonalsoallowsyoutocarry outthebleachcycle(seepage7).

On-off
When button H is pressed, the washingmachineisswitchedon, when it is not the machine is switchedoff.
Turningtheapplianceoffdoes not cancel the selected programme.
The on-off lamp
Lamp I flashes when the appliance is switched on and awaitingaprogrammetobeset. A steady light means the appliance has accepted the selectedprogramme.
The door block lamp
Thesafetylampindicatesthatthe washingmachinedoorislocked to prevent it from being opened accidentally. To avoid any damagestolockmechanism,you must wait for the lamp to extinguish,beforeattemptingto open the door which takes aroundthreeminutes.
