Important safety information
WARNING
! Do not attempt to install or service your navi-
gation system by yourself. Installation or servicing of the navigation system by persons
without training and experience in electronic
equipment and automotive accessories may
be dangerous and could expose you to the
risk of electric shock or other hazards.
! If liquid or foreign matter should get inside
this navigation system, park your vehicle to
safe place and turn the ignition switch off
(ACC OFF) immediately and consult your dealer or the nearest authorised Pioneer Service
Station. Do not use the navigation system in
this condition because doing so may result in
a fire, electric shock, or other failure.
! If you notice smoke, a strange noise or odor
from the navigation system, or any other abnormal signs on the LCD screen, turn off the
power immediately and consult your dealer or
the nearest authorised Pioneer Service Station. Using this navigation system in this condition may result in permanent damage to the
system.
! Do not disassemble or modify this navigation
system, as there are high-voltage components
inside which may cause an electric shock. Be
sure to consult your dealer or the nearest
authorised Pioneer Service Station for internal
inspection, adjustments or repairs.
! Do not allow this product to come into contact
with liquids. Electrical shock could result.
Also, damage to the product, smoke, and overheating could result from contact with liquids.
CAUTION
! When a route is calculated, the route and
voice guidance for the route are automatically
set. Also, for day or time traffic regulations,
only information about traffic regulations applicable at the time when the route was calculated is considered. One-way streets and
street closures may not be taken into consideration. For example, if a street is open during
the morning only, but you arrive later, it would
be against the traffic regulations so you cannot drive along the set route. When driving,
please follow the actual traffic signs. Also, the
system may not know some traffic regulations.
Before using your navigation system, be sure
to read and fully understand the following
safety information:
p Read the entire manual before operating
this navigation system.
p The navigation features of your navigation
system are intended solely as an aid to you
in the operation of your vehicle. It is not a
substitute for your attentiveness, judgement, and care when driving.
p Do not operate this navigation system if
doing so will divert your attention in any
way from the safe operation of your vehicle.
Always observe safe driving rules and follow all existing traffic regulations. If you experience difficulty in operating the system
or reading the display, park your vehicle in
a safe location and apply the handbrake before making the necessary adjustments.
p Never allow others to use the system un-
less they have read and understood the operating instructions.
p Never use this navigation system to route
to hospitals, police stations or similar facilities in an emergency. Stop using any functions relating to the hands-free phone and
please call the appropriate emergency
number.
p Route and guidance information displayed
by this equipment is for reference purposes
only. It may not accurately reflect the latest
permissible routes, road conditions, one
way streets, road closures, or traffic restrictions.
p Traffic restrictions and advisories currently
in force should always take precedence
over guidance given by the navigation system. Always obey current traffic restrictions, even if the navigation system
provides contrary advice.

Important safety information
Charging the battery of
detachable device
p Charging cannot be done when the tem-
perature is outside of the charging temperature range.
! The operating temperature range of the
battery is from 0 °C to +55 °C.
! The charging temperature range of the
battery is from –20 °C to +60 °C.
p The battery of the detachable device is
charged in the following situations.
! When the detachable device is attached
to the head unit while the ignition
switch is turned on (ACC ON).
! When the detachable device is con-
nected to your PC.
— Before charging the detachable de-
vice by connecting it to your PC, turn
off the power switch of detachable
device to reduce the drain on battery
power. If the power is on, the battery
may not be charged.
— To ensure proper charging, adjust
the screen brightness to a low level
and set the power–saving function to
save the battery discharging.
p The message “Preparing to start up sys-
tem...please wait” may be displayed after
the navigation system starts. If it does, wait
until the message “Ready to start up sys-tem.” appears. After the message is dis-
played, the system will restart.
p The battery lifetime is limited. Charged bat-
tery duration will decrease with repetitive
charging. If the battery duration is extremely short, it may be near the end of battery life span. Consult your dealer or the
nearest authorised Pioneer Service Station
and replace it with a new battery.
p If the navigation system shows signs of any
of the following conditions, a replacement
battery may be needed.
Please contact the nearest authorised
Pioneer Service Station.
! When you use the detachable device re-
moved from the head unit, the battery
runs out more rapidly than before.
! The message “Preparing to start up
system...please wait” is frequently dis-
played after start-up.
Eco-driving function
p The fuel mileage calculated is based on a
theoretical value determined from vehicle
speed and position information from the
navigation system. The fuel mileage displayed is only a reference value, and does
not guarantee the mileage displayed can
be obtained.
p The Eco-driving functions are an estimate
of the real time fuel consumption to average fuel consumption ratio and is not an
actual value.
p The Eco-driving functions and calculations
take into consideration the location of the
GPS position and speed of the vehicle in
determining a value.
p Indications of this unit may be different
from the actual value.
p Some of the features of this device do not
take in to consideration the type of vehicle
it is installed into.
Fuel cost management
These calculations are based only on the information that you provide and not on any data
from the vehicle. The fuel mileage displayed is
only a reference value, and does not guarantee
the fuel mileage displayed can be obtained.

Additional safety information
Handbrake interlock
Certain functions (such as certain touch panel
key operations) offered by this navigation system could be dangerous and/or unlawful if
used while driving. To prevent such functions
from being used while the vehicle is in motion,
there is an interlock system that senses when
the handbrake is set and when the vehicle is
moving. If you attempt to use the functions described above while driving, they will become
disabled until you stop the vehicle in a safe
place, and apply the handbrake. Please keep
the brake pedal pushed down before releasing
the handbrake.
WARNING
! LIGHT GREEN LEAD AT POWER CON-
NECTOR IS DESIGNED TO DETECT
PARKED STATUS AND MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE POWER SUPPLY SIDE
OF THE HANDBRAKE SWITCH. IMPROPER CONNECTION OR USE OF THIS
LEAD MAY VIOLATE APPLICABLE LAW
AND MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY
OR DAMAGE.
! When applying the handbrake in order to en-
able other functions offered by the navigation
system, park your vehicle in a safe place, and
keep the brake pedal pushed down before releasing the handbrake if the vehicle is parked
on a hill or otherwise might move when releasing the handbrake.
To avoid battery exhaustion
Be sure to run the vehicle engine while using
this product. Using this product without running the engine can drain the battery.

! Keep the SD memory card out of the reach of
small children to prevent them from accidentally swallowing it.
! To prevent data loss and damage to the sto-
rage device, never remove it from this navigation system while data is being transferred.
! If data loss or corruption occurs on the sto-
rage device for any reason, it is usually not
possible to recover the data. Pioneer accepts
no liability for damages, costs or expenses
arising from data loss or corruption.

in the SD memory card, never remove it from
your PC while data is being transferred.
! If data loss or corruption occurs on the data in
the SD memory card for any reason, it is
