Introduction
TheDPFsystemconsistsofa
Hydrocarbon(HC)Doser,aDiesel
OxidationCatalyst(DOC),andaDPF .
TheDPFlterssoot

WhenactivatedtheHCDosersprays
asmallamountofdieselfuel(theHC)
intotheexhaust.Thecatalystinthe
DOCreactswiththeHCtogenerate
heat.Theheatisusedtoclean
(regenerate)theDPFbyreducingthe
trappedsoottoash.

atwo-positionorthree-position
RegenerationSwitch,mountedonthe
