1. Brief Introduction

1.1. Product Introduction

This user manual is applicable for iP380 VoIP phone device. The chapter will be targeted
device detailed function and web page configuration introduction.

1.2. Hardware Function Introduction

iP380 provided interface: HeadSet up/mic 3.5mm connection port, RJ-45 Ethernet port, RJ-9
handset port, LED indication and AC/DC power adaptor connecting seat.
Provided two RJ-45 Ethernet interface, they support 10/100MB Ethernet speed. You can use
WAN port to connect ADSL or router; LAN port connects your computer.

1.5. Hardware Installation

After set up the iP380 device, please follow these steps to connect iP380 accordingly.
1. One of the power cord connected to the iP380 AC/DC power adaptor connecting seat, the AC outlet connected to the wall electric outlet.
2. Use LAN port through RJ-45 Ethernet line to connect personal computer.
3. Use RJ-45 Ethernet line to connect iP380 WAN port and ADSL/Cable modemRouter or other switch.
4. The RJ-9 handset line connect iP380 and handset.
5. 3.5mm headset connector connected to the green seat, and 3.5mm MIC connector co nnected to the red seat.
6. Once the phone power on, the LCD monitor will show the booting word. Wait a few minutes, the iP380 boot completely then y o u can use L CD or web page to conf igure y o ur acco unt and phone number.
7. Install LAN port two free pairs wire for external NC/NO control.

7. The foot plate setup, Please refer to the following steps:
Step 1: P ull up the handle first, this action would release the foot plate latch. Then, you can fold
or unfold foot plate according to your desire view angle as the fo llowing illu stration.

iP380 has built-in software control relay which can be configured to Normal Open (NO) or Normal Close(NC) to control external device via Remote DTM F d igit. Its contact specification
withstands 1 Ampere at 250 Volts external power source. There are two major applications as follows.
Application 1: Remote control Relay Open/Close via DTMF (such as open door for Visitor, RESET network server at NOC center, Home Automation control).
Application 2: Activate Siren and Strobe Light whe n incoming Ring arrives.
1. Built-in Relay contact was derived from two free pairs of LAN port RJ-45 cable. It does not
affect LAN RJ-45 Ethernet operation.
2. Line 1Line 2Line 3Line 6 or RJ-45 LAN port are Ethernet signal lines as above illustration.
These two pairs lines were used as Ethernet operation.
3. Line 4Line 5 are relay’s one contact (two pins ties together). Line7Line8 are relay’s another
contact (two pins ties together). These contacts open or close was referred to iP380s Web page Setting. They have Normal Open(Non active state) or Normal Close(Non active state)
status.
4. Please use the two contacts to connect external devices according to your desire applic at ions .

Wall mounting Installation Guide
Step 1: Fold the foo t plate completely by pulling handle. I nstall attached screw to fix foot plate at
iP380 body as the following illustration. This screw includes in package.
Step 2: Drill two h oles with 84mm distance and install two screws. Then mount iP380 to the screw
at foot plate mounting holes .

1.5.2. Connection

Please connect the personal computer to iP380 LAN port, then set up computer Ethernet to configure DHCP mode. The computer will get DHCP IP address. (ex. 192.168.123.150). Use Web browser at your computer at http://192.168.123.1:9999
to enter webpage setup mode of iP380.

1.6.2. Dial function Introduction

1.6.2.1. iP380 Dial Feature
There are three ways to dial number
1. Select L1~L3 line, After dial number direct, press “#” key to d ial out immediately.
2. Select L1~L3 line. Enter phone number and wait for 5 seconds to dial out automatically. (Default)
3. In ON-Hook state, Dial number and use C key to modify wrong number. After checking correct number, press # key to dial out.
Example:
Dial other extension number at the s ame proxy server, for instance, 1008. Just pick up the
phone and dial number 1008, than press “#” key or wait 5 seconds to dial out.
Dial a PSTN number, ex. 0800024365, maybe need to add prefix code before the phone

Remark:
In the iP380 web manageme nt system “Phone” -> “Auto Dial” w eb page, check [Auto Dial]
page parameter [Key As Send], the Settings is Enable or not.
1.6.2.2. Point-to-Point(P2P) Dial Feature
Two iP380 IP-Phone devices can call directly without SIP proxy server registration mode. Environmental requirements: Both iP380 IP-Phone device need to use physical static network IP address ; or at the same
private LAN network environment, or in a same VPN network.
Example:
If the called iP380 IP address is 192.168.0.160, dial number as follows:
Pick up the phone, dial “192*168*0*160”, then press “#” or wait 5 seconds to finish the P2P call.
If the called iP380 IP address is 192.168.1.20 and port is 5062, dial number as follows:
Pick up the phone, dial “192*168*1*20**5062”, then press “#” or wait 5 seconds to finish the P2P call.
1.6.2.3. Hold Call
In the talking state, press [Hold] key, the phone call will retain immed iately. Then, user can select other line to make a new call.
1.6.2.4. Call Waiting
In the talking state, If user hear a call waiting tones and iP380 LCD show a new incoming call number at the same time. User can press [Hold] key to retain original call and answer waiting c all. During the talking state, User can press [Hold] key again, the original call will be connected.
1.6.2.5. Blind Transfer

Example 4: IP-PBX Application on BLF
Step 1: For IP-PBX application, the icon can monitor your desire extension status who is your
frequent contact coworker . Or monitor FXO Gateway Line status which you may select one of FXO line to dial out.
Step 2: After Setup completely, you can monitor the status of each FXO line in real time. The
application is similar to traditional key telephone sysem (KTS Phone system).

2.5.3.3. Operate Instruction
Example 1: Build an Auto Update File [***_ver.dat]
Step 1: The filename for checking firmware version, the filename is according to [Firmware File
Prefix] on [Auto Update Setting] and adds [_ver.dat ] to be [filename_ver.dat], (See Figure
1).
ExFirmware File Prefix: TA1S, the filename for checking firmware version is TA1S_ver.dat.
Pay attention to [Firmware File Prefix], the name must be the same with ***_ver.dat.

Step 2: After build a [TA1S_ver.dat] file, there must have [CPU, CNAME] two data to compare
with updating file in Server. If the Server one is newer than your existing one, then your iP380 will update firmware, (See Figure 2).

CPU: The date of updating file, it can only enter numbers. CNAME: The updating filename, please enter a complete name without space or signs.

Example 3: Remote RFC2833 DTMF control Relay to Open/Close
Description 1. iP380 can be installed at entrance of office for visitor visiting. When the operator
staff confirm the identity of the visiting guests, operator staff press number key from his/her own extension (Number DTMF: 0). Then iP380 activate software control Relay to open the doors.
Note : This function support DTMF format mode: RFC2833 only, do not support InBand. Description 2. R ela y defa ult parameter can configure to Normal Open (Relay’s contact is Open in
standby state) or Normal Close (Relay’s contact is Close in standby state) state.
When configure to Normal Open, iP380 Relay’s contacts are open. Once iP380 was activated, softwa re control it to Close state. The state last for 3 seconds, then return to Normal Open.
Description 3. When configure to Normal Close, iP380 Relay contacts are in close state. Once
iP380 was activated, software controls it to open s ta te. The state keeps 3 seconds, then return to Normal Close.
Description 4. iP380 can be installed at Network Control Center (NOC). Remote DTMF can control
Relay to be Open or Close to Reset Network equipment by remote IP Phone device through DTMF signal. It also can be installed at house to control home automation device via remote IP Phone through remote DTMF signal.
