quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use this product only as described and only for the specified areas of application. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner(s).
Proper use
The Ultimate Speed ULG3.8B1 is a multi-stage car battery charger that is suitable for charging and trickle charging up of 6V or 12V lead-acid batteries (batteries) with electrolyte solution (WET), electrolyte absorbent mats (AGM) or gel electrolyte (GEL).
This appliance is not suitable for charging lithium-ion batteries. The is not intended for commercial use and is for indoor use only.
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage(s) arising out of usage contrary to the instructions specified below.

This charger is suitable for indoor use only.
This appliance may be used by chil-
dren aged 8 over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of expe­rience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks. Children must not use the appliance as a plaything. Cleaning and user maintenance

and usage restrictions are ex­plained below in these operating instructions.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Do not operate the appliance with
a damaged cable, supply cord or mains plug. A damaged power cord causes danger to life by elec­tric shock.
If the supply cord is damaged, it
must be replaced by the manufac­turer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
The negative terminal clamp (black)
must be connected to the chassis at least 10 cm away from the batte­ry and the fuel line.
Now connect the charger to the
power supply.
Disconnect the charger from the
mains power supply after charg­ing. Only then remove the terminal clamp from the vehicle bodywork/ earth. Then remove the terminal clamp from the vehicle bodywork/ earth.

Protect yourself from a highly explosive oxyhydrogen gas reaction!
Make sure that there are no sources
of open fire (flames, embers or sparks) in the vicinity when charg­ing or discharging batteries!
Before connecting to the mains,
make sure that the mains current is a standard 230V~50Hz, equipped with an earthed neutral conductor, a 16A fuse and a residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB)!
Disconnect the charger from the
mains before making connections to the battery.

Make sure that the positive terminal
connecting cable has no contact with a fuel line (e.g. petrol line)!
Make sure that no explosive and
flammable substances, e.g. petrol or solvents, can be ignited when using the charger!
Ensure that there is adequate venti-
lation during charging.

RISK OF CHEMICAL BURNS!
Wear safety goggles! Wear
protective gloves! If your eyes or skin come into contact with battery acid, rinse the affected part of the body with plenty of clear running water and seek immediate medical assistance!
Avoid an electric short-circuit when
connecting the charger to the bat­tery. Connect the negative terminal connecting cable to the negative ter­minal of the battery or to the vehicle bodywork/earth only. Connect the positive terminal connecting cable only to the positive terminal of the battery!
Do not set up the charger near a
fire or subject it to heat or to long­term temperatures exceeding 50°C!
When attaching the charger, be
sure not to damage any lines for fuel, electricity, braking system, hydraulics or water with screws!
Do not cover the charger with objects
of any kind!
Protect the electrical contacts of the
battery against short-circuiting!
Use the charger exclusively for
charging or trickle charging undam­aged 6V/12V lead batteries! Fro­zen batteries may not be charged.
Operation
Before first use
Before connecting the battery charger, read the
operating instructions of the battery thoroughly.
In addition, observe the vehicle manufacturer’s
instructions for a permanently connected bat­tery. Secure the vehicle; turn off the ignition.
Clean the battery terminals. Ensure that no dirt
comes into contact with your eyes in the process.
Provide for sufficient ventilation.
Connection
NOTE
There are two options for connecting the charger. Connect the negative terminal connecting cable (black) either directly to the negative terminal of the battery or to the bodywork. Please also bear in mind the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.
Before starting the charging or trickle charging
procedure on a permanently installed battery in a vehicle, first disconnect the negative terminal connecting cable (black) of the vehicle from the negative terminal of the battery. The negative terminal of the battery is usually connected to the vehicle’s bodywork/earth.
Then disconnect the positive terminal connect-
ing cable (red) of the vehicle from the positive terminal of the battery.
Clamp the positive terminal clamp (red)
charger to the positive terminal on the battery.
Clamp the negative terminal clamp (black)
the charger to the negative terminal on the battery or to the bodywork.
Connect the mains cable of the battery

Select charging mode
You can choose between different charging modes for charging various batteries at different ambient temperatures.
Unlike standard battery chargers, this appliance has a special function for reusing an empty chargeable battery or accu. You can recharge a completely dis­charged battery/accu. A protection function against incorrect connection and short circuiting ensures safe charging. Due to the installed electronics, the charger does not begin operation directly after connecting the battery, but only starts after a charging mode has been selected. This prevents sparking, which often occurs when connecting. In addition, the battery charger is con­trolled by an internal MCU (micro-computer unit).

After connection to the power supply, the appli-
ance automatically returns to its initial state and remains in Standby mode

This mode is suitable for charging 6V lead-acid batteries with a capacity below 14Ah.

This mode is used for charging 12V lead-acid batteries with a capacity of more than 14Ah in cold conditions or for several AGM batteries with a capacity of more than 14Ah.

Automatic battery recognition
As soon as the charger is connected the mains power supply, the LED display on the appli­ance lights up.
The charger recognises the battery on the basis of the following criteria:
if the voltage of the battery is less than 3.8V or greater than 15V, the battery is not suitable for charging or defective. The LED Displays

Pulse charging mode
The mode is suitable for the charging/regeneration of empty, used and overcharged 12V lead-acid batteries.
When the charger is connected to a battery and the charging process starts it automatically rec­ognises the battery voltage. It will switch to pulse charging mode if the voltage is in the range of
7.5V ± 0.5V to 10.5V ± 0.5V. This pulse charging process is continued until the
battery voltage has increased to 10.5V ± 0.5V. As soon as this state is reached, the charger switches
over to the previously selected normal charging mode.
Now the battery can be charged quickly and safely. Most empty, used or overcharged batteries can be regenerated and reused using this procedure.

During the pulse charging process, the LED

Trickle charging
The charge is equipped with an automatic trickle charging function. Depending on the voltage of the battery, the charger reacts by supplying different charging current. The battery can remain connected to the charger for a long period of time.
Protective function of the appliance
If a non-standard situation should occur, such as short circuiting, a critical voltage drop during the charging process, an open circuit or reversed connection of the output terminals, the charger deactivates the electronic system and immediately switches back to its initial state to avoid damage.

Maintenance and Cleaning
WARNING! Always remove the power plug from the wall socket before carrying out any work on the
battery charger.
The appliance is maintenance-free.
Under no circumstances should solvents or other
aggressive cleaning agents be used.
Clean the plastic surfaces of the appliance with
a soft, dry cloth.
Warranty
The warranty provided for this appliance is 3 years from the date of purchase. This appli­ance has been manufactured with care and in­spected meticulously prior to delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please contact your Customer Service by telephone. This is the only way to guarantee free return of your goods.
The warranty only covers claims for material and manufacturing defects, not for transport damage, wearing parts or for damage to fragile components such as switches or batteries. This appliance is intended solely for private use and not for commer­cial purposes. The warranty is deemed void if this product has been subjected to improper or inap­propriate handling, abuse or modifications which were not carried out by one of our authorised ser­vice centres. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs made under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking, or no later than two days after the date of purchase. Repairs made after expiry of the warranty period are chargeable.

Namjenska uporaba
Ultimate Speed ULG3.8B1 je višestupanjski uređaj za punjenje automobilskih akumulatora, prikladan za punjenje i očuvanje naboja 6V ili 12V akumula­tora (baterija) s olovom i otopinom elektrolita (WET), sa spužvama koje apsorbiraju elektrolit (AGM) ili s elektrolitom u gelu (GEL).
Uređaj nije prikladan za punjenje litij-ionskih baterija! Uređaj nije namijenjen za komercijalnu uporabu i namijenjen je isključivo za uporabu u zatvorenom prostoru.
Proizvođač ne preuzima odgovornost od štete na­stale uslijed korištenja uređaja protivnog njegovoj namjeni.

OPASNOST OD STRUJNOG
UDARA!
Ne rukujte uređajem kada je
oštećen kabel, mrežni priključni vod ili mrežni utikač. Oštećen mrežni priključni vod predstavlja opasnost po život od strujnog udara.
Ako dođe do oštećenja mrežnog
priključnog kabela, isti mora zami­jeniti proizvođač, servis za kupce ili slična kvalificirana osoba, kako bi se izbjegle opasne situacije.
Prije priključivanja na mrežni napon
provjerite da mreža odgovara naponu od 230V~ 50Hz, ima uzemljeni nulti vod, osigurač od 16 A i FID (zaštitnu) sklopku.
Isključite mrežno napajanje punjača
prije spajanja ili odvajanja baterije.
Uvijek priključnu stezaljku plus-pola
(crvenu) priključite prvu.
Priključna stezaljka minus-pola
(crna) mora uz udaljenost od najmanje 10 cm od baterije i pro­vodnika goriva biti priključena na karoseriju.
Punjač tek nakon toga priključite na
mrežu napajanja.
Nakon punjenja isključite mrežno
napajanje punjača. Tek nakon toga priključnu stezaljku skinite s karose­rije. Nakon toga priključnu stezaljku skinite s baterije.
OPASNOST OD EKSPLOZIJE I

Zaštitite se od reakcije praskavog plina!
Osigurajte, da prilikom postupka
punjenja baterije u blizini ne bude prisutan izvor plamena (plamen, iskra ili žar)!
Osigurajte, da priključni kabel plus
pola nema kontakt s vodom za pogonsko gorivo (npr. vodom za benzin)!
Provjerite da se prilikom uporabe
punjača ne mogu zapaliti eksploziv­ne ili zapaljive tvari (npr. benzin ili otapala)!
Uvijek osigurajte dostatnu ventilaci-
ju tijekom punjenja.

Izbjegavajte električni kratki spoj
prilikom priključivanja punjača na bateriju. Priključni kabel minus pola priključite isključivo na odgovarajući minus pol akumulatora, odnosno na karoseriju. Priključni kabel plus pola priključite isključivo na odgovarajući plus pol akumulatora!

Prije uključivanja uređaja
Prije priključivanja punjača treba provjeriti
upute za uporabu baterije.
Osim toga, pridržavati se treba i propisa proi-
zvođača vozila za bateriju koja je stalno priklju­čena u vozilu. Osigurajte vozilo i isključite kontakt.
Očistite polove baterije. Pazite da oči pritom
ne dođu u kontakt s prljavštinom.
Uvijek osigurajte dostatnu ventilaciju.
Priključivanje
NAPOMENA
Punjač se može priključiti na dva načina. Priključni
kabel za minus pol (crni) može se priključiti ili izravno na minus pol akumulatora, ili na karoseriju. Pridržavajte se propisa proizvođača vozila.
Prije postupka punjenja i održavanja punjenja
akumulatora stalno priključenog u vozilu, naj­prije odvojite priključni kabel minus pola (crni) vozila s minus pola baterije. Minus-pol baterije po pravilu je povezan sa karoserijom vozila.
Nakon toga odvojite priključni kabel plus pola
(crveni) vozila s plus pola baterije (akumulatora).
Priključite priključnu stezaljku plus pola (crvena)
punjača na plus pol baterije.
Priključite priključnu stezaljku minus pola (crna )
punjača na minus pol baterije , odnosno na
karoseriju.
Priključite mrežni priključni vod punjača na
mrežnu utičnicu.

Odvajanje
Odvojite uređaj od mrežnog napajanja.Skinite priključnu stezaljku minus pola (crna)

Odabir modusa punjenja
Za punjenje različitih baterija pri različitoj temperaturi okoline možete birati između tri različitih modusa punjenja.
U usporedbi sa konvencionalnim uređajima za pu­njenje baterija ovaj uređaj raspolaže specijalnom funkcijom za ponovnu uporabu prazne baterije/ praznog akumulatora. Potpuno ispražnjenu bateri­ju/potpuno ispražnjen akumulator ponovo možete napuniti. Zaštita od pogrešnog priključivanja i krat­kog spoja omogućava siguran postupak punjenja. Pomoću ugrađene elektronike uređaj za punjenje ne stupa u pogon neposredno nakon priključivanja baterije, nego tek nakon što je odabran modus za punjenje. Na taj način sprječava se nastanak iskri, koje se često pojavljuju za vrijeme postupka priklju­čivanja. Nadalje, punjačem upravlja ugrađeni MCU (mikroprocesorska jedinica).
Reset/brisanje postavki
Nakon priključivanja na mrežno napajanje ure-
đaj se automatski prebacuje u osnovni položaj i ostaje u Standby-modusu (modusu pripravnosti).
Prebacivanje između modusa 1, 2, 3 i 4
Pritisnite tipku za odabir MODE određeni broj puta. Uređaj prebacuje između načina punjenja sljedećim
redoslijedom: Standby ( ), Modus 1 ( ), Modus 2 (
), Modus 3 ( ), Modus 4 ( ) i zatim
započinje sljedeći ciklus.
NAPOMENA
Kada pritisnete tipku za odabir MODE
uređaj se prebacuje na sljedeći modus punje­nja i isti odmah započinje. Ako je priključena baterija od 12 V, Modus 1 ( ) se ne može birati. Ako je priključena baterija od 6V, Modus 2 ( birati. Ako međutim bateriju nakon potpunog punjenja ne odvojite od punjača, zadržava se u modusu za održavanje punjenja, čak i kada korisnik odabere neki drugi modus. To je korisno, kako bi se potpuno napunjena baterija zaštitila od oštećenja.

Modus 1 „6V“ (7,3V / 0,8A)
Ovaj modus je prikladan za punjenje olovnih bate­rija od 6V kapaciteta manjeg od 14 Ah.

odabrali Modus 1 ( ). Nakon ovog postupka zasvijetlit će odgovarajuća LED-lampica Ukoliko nakon toga ne izvršite daljnje pode­šavanje, elektronika će se zajedno sa LED-pri­kazom uključiti i započet će postupak punjenja. Ukoliko ovaj postupak prođe bez problema, LED-prikaz ostaje aktivan za vrijeme cijelog postupka punjenja, sve dok baterija ne bude napunjena na 7,3V /± 0,25V. Kada je baterija potpuno napunjena, zasvijetliti će LED­prikaz , a LED-lampica se gasi. Uređaj automatski prelazi u modus održavanja punjenja.

Automatsko prepoznavanje baterija
Čim se punjač priključi na mrežu, na uređaju svijetli LED-lampica .
Punjač prepoznaje bateriju na temelju sljedećih kriterija: Ako je napon baterije manji od 3,8 V ili veći od
15 V, baterija je neispravna ili nije prikladna za pu­njenje. U tom slučaju trepere LED-lampice
, i . Punjač ostaje u „Standby modusu“ i tipkom MODE se ne može odabrati niti jedan drugi modus.
Modus impulsnog punjenja
Ovaj modus prikladan je za punjenje/regeneri­ranje praznih, isptrošenih i prenapunjenih olovnih baterija od 12V. Kada je punjač priključen na bateriju i uređaj za­počne sa punjenjem, automatski prepoznaje napon baterije. Prebacuje u impulsni modus punjenja, kada je napon u području od 7,5V ± 0,5V do 10,5V ± 0,5V.

Ovaj impulsni tok punjenja se nastavlja, sve dok na­pon baterije ne poraste i dostigne 10,5V ± 0,5V. Čim je ovo stanje dostignuto, punjač prelazi u nor­malni modus punjenja, koji ste prethodno odabrali.
Sada baterija brzo i sigurno može biti napunjena. Ovim postupkom većinu praznih baterija možete ponovo napuniti i koristiti.

Modus održavanja punjenja
Punjač raspolaže automatskim održavanjem pu­njenja. Ovisno o naponu baterije, punjač reagira različitom strujom punjenja. Baterija može ostati priključena na punjač duže vrijeme.
Zaštitna funkcija uređaja
Čim dođe do promjene situacije, poput kratkog spoja, kritičnog pada napona tijekom punjenja, otvorenog strujnog kruga ili obrnutog reda priključi­vanja izlaznih stezaljki, punjač isključuje elektroniku i vraća u izvorne postavke sustava, kako bi se izbjegla oštećenja.
Ukoliko ne vršite druga podešenja, sustav ostaje u modusu Standby (pripravnost). Kod obrnutog spajanja priključnih stezaljki (zamjene polariteta) svijetli dodatno i LED-lampica „greška“
Ukoliko uređaj za vrijeme postupka punjenja po­stane previše vruć, automatski se smanjuje izlazna snaga. To također štiti uređaj od oštećenja.

Održavanje i čišćenje
UPOZORENJE! Uvijek izvucite mrežni utikač iz utičnice, prije nego što započnete radove na punjaču.
Uređaj ne mora biti servisiran.
Nikako ne koristite otapala ili agresivna sredstva
za čišćenje.
Plastične površine uređaja očistite mekanom
suhom krpom.
